A mix of drama and comedy with great acting
A mix of drama and comedy with great acting is the best way to sum up the movie. It contained the sassy attitude of Miss Daisy (Tandy)with the happy spirit of her driver Hoke (Freeman). The plot line is good and it’s not one of those really depressing dramas – its actually funny in many places. All actors in this movie were great, especially Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. Tandy won best actress for her acting, and I think Freeman should have one best actor award. Watch it!

Wonderful
This movie has taken on a new meaning for me after watching it for the third time. The tender loving care taken by Mr. Morgen Freeman’s character leaves me totaly disarmed for words. His sensitive acting in the role of a driver for a cantankerous old lady, who shows little appreciation for a loyal and tolerant servant Despite the fact that Morgan Freeman’s character has been shown low tolerance all of his life, he shows the love and affection to this lady that he has been denied. Yes he is enthralled by his granddaughter and her talents. This appreciation is demonstrated within his own people, not by white society. His character has risen above this intolerance. His long enduring innate goodness, that the human race can develop, when they rise above their station in life. The final scene is devastating. This could only be done by two actors that have risen above their peers. Can we arise above intolerance and have the strength of these two people ? That is what the author has left us with.

This was an original, touching, and an overall amazingly acted and entertaining movie!
When my father first suggested that we watch this movie as a family thing together I was all, this movie is most likely going to be boring. But I watched it anyway for the sake of my dad and as it turns out this is now one of my all time favorite movies (next to The Shawshank Redemption).
Morgan Freeman is an amazing actor and his performance with Jessica Tandy was truly astounding. All of his movies are definitely on my must watch list, because he plays his characters so well and he makes the personalities so believable. Morgan Freeman is my favorite actor…I first saw him in The Shawshank Redemption (my favorite movie EVER) and I thought that he was a godly actor just from that movie. But I’ve seen many more of his movies as well, and all of his performances are great! OK..back on topic. Jessica Tandy’s performance as an elderly, seemingly racist, high strung, and quite stubborn Jewish lady made this movie what it is…GREAT! I loved the way that her relationship with Hoke changed from enemies ( I don’t need your help and I don’t want it!) to the greatest of friends. (you’re my best friend Hoke). This movie definitely deserved to be nominated as best picture (and it was, in 1994, but sadly, it didn’t win. Forrest Gump took the Oscar.) and Jessica Tandy Definitely deserved to win best actress (God rest her soul). Morgan Freeman needs yet to win best actor (keep your fingers crossed!) and I expect that he will soon… being the astounding actor that he is
Overall this is a delightful family movie! I think that everyone that enjoys a heartwarming story of friendship should put seeing this movie on their to-do list!
