“Couples Retreat” Plot Summary
A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.
It really worked for me
Couples Retreat is a comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional. Couples Retreat is like a romantic comedy but without all the romantic stuff, well maybe a little bit of romance at the end but that’s it. It has many funny moments. The locations are wonderful all the landscapes are fantastic. The cast is really good, Vince Vaughn still got the necessary to make people laugh, Jon Favreau is also very funny in this movie. Kristen Bell, Kristin Davis and Malin Akerman all three with very decent performances and the one that steals the show is Latin actor Carlos Ponce with his performance of yoga instructor, he was hilarious. To conclude, Couples Retreat is a movie with the only purpose of entertaining, and I think it accomplishes it very nice.

Excellent Movie
I think the movie was excellent. I never fully trust the ratings or opinions of others, so take mine with a grain of salt. First of all, I’m not very demanding of a movie, I just want to go eat some popcorn and laugh or sit on the edge of my seat the whole time. This movie made me laugh from start to end. There were some jokes that were very suttle that went over some people’s heads I could tell and this may be why it is getting low ratings. I’m also 44 years old on my second marriage and it is really good. I’m a male also, and I hate ‘chick flicks’, so fellas, don’t be scared about this movie. The humor may be out of touch for young people who haven’t been through anything. My wife on the other hand laughed, but told me today that she thought the movie was marginally good. There you go, split right down the middle in this household
Anyhow, the women were sexy, and the temptations were awesome,… don’t want to spoil it for ya

This movie was funny
I don’t know what people have been talking about but I enjoyed this movie. It was very comical and had a good story. I find that a lot of comedies are just plain humor with no story. It shows the troubles and sacrifices of marriage. It is a great date movie and I did not find a dull moment in the movie. The cast was funny and played there roles well. The movie had some obvious truths to life and marriage and they made it comical. You should disregard the negative comments about this film. It is definitely worth seeing and was very funny. I liked all Vince Vaughn’s films and the difference here is that it is not just stupid comedy but partially more believable. Overall this is a movie you should watch.
