“Caddyshack” Movie Review

“Caddyshack” Plot Summary

An exclusive golf course has to deal with a brash new member and a destructive dancing gopher.

Masterpiece!

In writing this review, I am not going to attempt to draft out a lengthy summary outlining the pro’s and cons of this film. I’m also not going to talk about plot structure or the boundaries of character development. Furthermore, I’m not going to analyze the social ramifications of this flick, or discuss it’s effect on society. An achievement such as this, does not require that much thought or labor. Anyone who would try to do so, is a moron (And most likely a fan of those crap-filled ‘Lord of the Ring’ movies). Instead, I’m going to state this single opinion, in the simplest possible terms: ‘Caddyshack’ is not the greatest film ever. Heck, it’s not even my favorite (‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’). But, when speaking of features in the comedic genre of film, it is without a doubt, an undebatable fact, that ‘Caddyshack’, is the funniest of all time! Many women will argue that point (my girlfriend being one of the them), and that’s quite all right. Because ‘Caddyshack’ isn’t designed to appeal to an estrogen-ladened mind. Any guy, however, who decides to ridicule ‘Caddyshack’, needs to immediately check his equipment, to make sure that’s it’s still intact, as ‘Caddyshack’ is truly the ultimate guy movie, suitable for exposition at any function where alcohol is being consumed. If you’ve seen it… see it again. If you’ve never had the pleasure, quit reading this darn review, and acquire it immediately.

“Talladega Nights” Plot Summary

#1 NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby stays atop the heap thanks to a pact with his best friend and teammate, Cal Naughton, Jr. But when a French Formula One driver, makes his way up the ladder, Ricky Bobby’s talent and devotion are put to the test.

Will Ferrell at his best.

Will Ferrell at his best

Seriously Here, Ferrell plays a good ole country boy with rocks for brains and only one worry in the world and that’s winning. Sound like a familiar past TV character of his? Ferrell is also a Writer on this film with Director Adam McKay, who together have made a solid comedy team since those SNL days, including 2004’s ‘Anchor Man.’ But standing just as tall in this picture is the surprising man-about-town, Mr. Sasha Cohen (Borat, Ali G, Bruno) as Ricky Bobby’s French nemesis, Jean Girard. This guy is such a great character actor it was difficult to even spot him at first. But who else would be brave enough to kiss Ferrell on the lips?www.manwithavan.blogspot.com

“The Fan” Movie Review

“The Fan” Plot Summary

An all star baseball player becomes the unhealthy focus of a down on his luck salesman. add synopsis

Entertaining!

The Fan has combined both baseball and a thriller together to make everyone happy. It is slow at the beginning but it gets interesting as the story develops more and more as we look at the life of a famous player and a knife salesman who will later become involved in a life risking dilemma. Robert De Niro teams up with director Tony Scott and Wesley Snipes to make one good thriller. Even though The Fan can’t compare with the likes of Tony Scott’s previous films, True Romance and Top Gun, it is a still a promising thriller with some pretty big flaws. It is not a masterpiece and nor will it ever be but will be remembered as a movie that tried but could not reach the finish line. The critics were very harsh on this film but that’s what they are born to do, criticize on every single piece of work. Five point six is too low for a film like the fan, a six point two would have been more like it. The end is cliched and ruins the whole point of the film. The movie is predictable yet entertains you a little bit to stop you from taking the disc out. If you are a thriller lover then this movie is no disappointment because it will entertain you. The violence is limited and that’s is a good thing but language is high.(MAY CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS!!!)Number one fan Gil Renard whose obsession is focused on a San Francisco Giants all-star outfielder Booby Rayburn. While the newly signed baseball star is having trouble getting his favorite uniform number from a competitive teammate Juan Primo, Gil is having career troubles at the knife company that his father founded, and people can bet that his proximity to high-quality stainless-steel blades will be a factor in the suspenseful plot. Gil confronts Primo in a sauna and explains to the ballplayer that he believes Rayburn’s decline in play is directly the result of Primo’s competitiveness, since Rayburn took over Primo’s spot at center field, but did not let him use his lucky number of 11 on his jersey. When Primo brushes off the fan’s concerns, Gil proceeds to murder the left fielder with one of his makeshift knives!Wesley Snipes finally gives a exceptional performance and he plays his sport role, Bobby Rayburne, very well and he shows emotion along with many other good feelings. The Fan is not so great that you would rather watch this than Kill Bill because you are a complete retard (No Offense). Robert De Niro plays the die-hard baseball fan who will do anything to impress his favorite baseball player, Bobby Rayburne (Wesley Snipes, and which results in him turning into something sinister and evil. Benicio Del Toro is almost unrecognizable in this film but after catching his face a few times, I finally realized that Benicio Del Toro looks like crap in this film. Jack Black also makes a two-second appearance in this film as the radio station guy. He looks normal and fat, usual. I got this in a triple film-pack which contained Money Train and Unstoppable, so I brought it because it was a good deal. This film deserves a view at least once. It is enjoyable, entertaining, fun, cliched and flawed but even though it is all that, you will have a good time. 7/10.

“Rocky III” Movie Review

“Rocky 3″ Plot Summary

When Rocky is defeated by a brutal challenger, Apollo Creed offers to retrain him in order to regain his fighting spirit.

Another Great Stallone Movie!!

***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** ‘Rocky III’ is another sequel from the first and second ‘Rocky’. It’s about Mr. T. wanting to have a match with Rocky(Stallone). It’s also about the statue of Rocky standing in Philadelphia. It’s sad when Mickey died after the boxing match in the middle of the movie. It was great when Rocky(Stallone) befriended Apollo Creed(Weathers) by working and exercising together for another boxing match with Mr. T. And by the way, ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ was a great song in this cool movie. ‘Rocky III’ has been one of the greatest Stallone movies ever created. I Highly Recommend It. **** out of **** stars and 10 out of 10 stars.

    Very funny movie!

I saw this movie last night for the first time and I was laughing my head off from the beginning to the end

IThis movie has a lot of gags and I had to run to the toilet cos I wet myself with laughter and i had to gasp for air cos i was laughing so hard

From reading the negative reviews on this site – I don’t know why people hate this movie? it is so funny! it was one of my favorite movies starring Adam Sandler

I thought the best performances were from Sandler and Rock. This movie is really good but I really like the original movie better

I thought this remake was a lot more funnier than the original

If you love Adam Sandler and Chris Rock then you will love this movie

Def the most funniest movie I have seen in 2010.

I also really liked the soundtrack 10/10 for a great comedy movie

    “Rocky 6″ Plot Summary

Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement to step into the ring for the last time and face the heavyweight champ Mason ‘The Line’ Dixon.

Best Movie of 2006 – Oscar worthy folks!

I hear talk of Leonardo DiCaprio possibly receiving an Oscar for his performance in Blood Diamond?! I apologize in advance for saying this, but come on…DiCaprio trying to put on the accent is not convincing whatsoever! What is convincing then, might you ask? Rocky Balboa, that’s what! Sylvester is the one that should be nominated for an Oscar folks. Sylvester put his heart and soul into this film, and it shows. One of the best movies that I have ever seen, in all honesty. I can’t think of one single bad thing to say about this film. I hope it does very well at the box office, because it deservedly should. Great script, great plot, great acting, wonderful surroundings/great camera shots & color of the city of Philly, the list could go on for days. $6? I would’ve paid twice that to see this film. I’m 27 years old, but no one is ever too old for Rocky Balboa. Wonderful closure to one of the best movie franchises in movie history, thank you Sylvester for everything that you’ve put into Rocky over the years. Hats off to you my friend

    “Fighting” Movie Review

    “Fighting” Plot Summary

In New York City, a young counterfeiter is introduced to the world of underground street fighting by a seasoned scam artist, who becomes his manager on the bare-knuckling brawling circuit.

    Fighting – A beating I enjoyed.

The script of this movie contains a lot of bad lines, yeah the script isn’t close to Montiels A guide to recognizing your saints. But this movie has got content that a lot of other movies lack… and it has got some features from the movie mentioned that gives the same street feel as AGTRYS did. The ending could be so much more than it is, and that is in my opinion the main reason why this movie got the low ratings it got

And anyone saying the fights lack cool moves, or that there are way too few fights for a movie called ‘Fighting’… i’d say you’re wrong. If you wanted a movie with a bunch of hardcore hits in slow motion, you should have gone for something that deals what that sorta thing… this movie does not. Sure there are some of these elements in there, but that’s not what the focus is on. Anyone actually believe that Rocky got badass from running up stairs? Shawn trains a little, but he survives on what he has got… that is kinda the message. And no fights aren’t fair game, if you take a beating and you get a chance to shove your opponent into a sink, you’ll take it.one thing to put out there is that the musical score for this movie is just as awesome as Dito M’s last movie, scenes from Zulay’s kitchen were done perfectly in a great mix with the music, same goes for anywhere Shawn wasn’t at a club or fighting. If you want a movie like Rocky or Never Back Down, don’t go for this one… there are better movies than Fighting out there, but this one ignites some emotion instead of adrenalin.

    “Dodgeball” Plot Summary

A group of misfits enter a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament in order to save their cherished local gym from the onslaught of a corporate health fitness chain.

    Great Fun!

Picked this up on DVD for ?3 ($6) – didn’t know anything about it We thought it one of the funniest films we’ve seen for some time. Thought I’d check out the rating and was surprised how low (6.6) it was. Then checked out some of the ‘Hated It’ comments to see why this could be I guess that a lot of people find this film offensive, with stereotypical attitudes – like how a bisexual woman could kiss both a man and a woman (an extraordinary observation). Or that it was unfair to poke fun at someone who spent all his waking hours dressed up as pirate. I think that comment came from a member of the Long John Silver Alliance

Lighten up! Comedy – like any other artistic endeavour is subjective – all I can say is that I laughed and found that at many points the jokes were coming faster than I could process them – always a good sign

A good combination of slapstick humour and smart-ass comments delivered at a rapid pace And an ever-popular theme: will the underdogs triumph? Watch it and find out

    “The Blind Side” Plot Summary

The story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family. add synopsis

    A Great Act of Kindness

I did not see this as a movie about white guilt, or any of the other negative stereotypical connotations one has come to expect when seeing a story like this. If anything, the film could be seen as a story of how a kind family opened their hearts, to a poor soul in need. This one act enriched the lives of them all

Sandra Bullock was at her absolute best as she lost herself in this role. Kathy Bates delivered as always she is such a pro. The actor Quinton Aaron won my heart after his first five minutes as I teared up looking at him and feeling his utter pain and despair

I’m not familiar with Tim McGraw as a singer but his performance in this film makes me feel he has a future in this profession. They all delivered and I was so moved by the over-all experience and grateful for a woman called Leigh Anne Touhy

    This movie deserved 10 stars!
