“Bicentennial Man” Plot Summary

An android endeavors to become human as he gradually acquires emotions.

Very entertaining and heart warming movie.

Chris Columbus has another hit on his hands. Robin Williams gives his usual first rate performance, along with Sam Neil and Embeth Davidtz. They highlight a well cast movie that will pull at your heart strings more than once, in a tale written by Isaac Asimov that brings a lot of human emotion to this science fiction piece.

“Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” Movie Review

“Spirit” Plot Summary

As a wild stallion travels across the frontiers of the Old West, he befriends a young human and finds true love with a mare.

Great.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an overall wonderful movie. The blending of animation types is unique, the storyline is amazing, and the music is wonderful

The drawn animation is a special thing about many animations. How they expressed the characters, especially the horses, through their animation are spectacular especially. While the way horses communicate through body language is easy to understand, many young children and people who haven’t studied horses might not understand. Without words, I would imagine it would have to be challenging to express them through the features. Because of this, I understand the ‘eyebrow’ they added to the horses (while real horses don’t have those thick lines). One of the few things I noticed about horse habits that might have been portrayed strangely is that Spirit lead his mother’s herd. In wild horse herds, the lead stallion usually chases the young colts out

Also, while some people might think portraying the white army officers as the ‘bad guys’ is stereotyping, think of all the movies in which the Native Americans have been portrayed as that. Sometimes back then; they did treat mustangs very poorly. For example, in real history, the Appaloosa breed was almost wiped out due to the Army officers. Imagine what would have happened to one of the worlds best loved riding breeds if the Native Americans had not saved them

I think it’s amazing how the realism wasn’t subtracted by making the horses talk to each other. Spirit’s feelings were expressed by a little bit of narration, but mostly through the music (by Bryan Adams). The songs express the story really well, and Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams did a great job telling the story through melodies and lyrics

The emotion I got when watching the movie, whether the first time or the twentieth (yes, I’ve watched it that much), you wouldn’t believe. Some of the scenes take your breath away, while others seem to force tears into your eyes. The opening sequence, showing Spirit’s homeland, puts you right into the spectacular action right away

I don’t understand at all why some people are so hateful of this brilliant movie. Overall, I rate it a 10/10 – a must watch.

    “Freaky Friday” Plot Summary

An overworked mother and her daughter do not get along. When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the others life for one freaky Friday. add synopsis

    Freaky Fun-day!

It was a remake and it delivered big time! Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are an unstoppably funny team of mother and daughter that have just the right chemistry, the right dose of sarcasm and the right dose of whatever it takes to make you laugh and enjoy this film. No film this cheery and delightful would be complete with the dish! And the dish here is Chad Michael Murray with awesome hair, playing the love interest of Lohan’s character

The story is about this mother and daughter who don’t seem to appreciate each other’s lives, so one Freaky Friday, while having dinner at a Chinese restaurant, they both receive fortune cookies with a weird message in them. The next morning, they wake up to find out that they have switched bodies, whereby the mum’s character now has the daughter’s thinking and reasoning, while the daughter now had the mother’s thoughts and reasoning

The result is a pure riot! A must see for everyone who enjoys watching films that warm the heart and make you laugh.

“The Lion King 3″ Plot Summary

Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog retell the story of The Lion King, from their own unique perspective. add synopsis

    Surprisingly Good

I have to be honest, i was expecting a failure so bad, because it really did sound like they were trying to milk the original movie to get money. But that wasn’t the case with this pretty funny (sometimes odd) movie. I loved how they told the story of Timon and Pumba, the story with Simba and him having trouble sleeping was funny. The jacuzzi bubble, and when Pumba leaves, the bubbles stop. It’s all harmless fun, good for kids and some adults. I think this movie will last for a while because it is rather good for a straight to Video and DVD movie. While the movie does seem a little odd and kind of trails off toward the end, it works. 8 out of 10

“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Movie Review

“HP and the Order of the Phoenix” Plot Summary

With their warning about Lord Voldemort’s return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.

    Great and emotional

Well, for me it was a pretty great movie. I am too, a huge book fan. But I know that cinema and literature are two well respected but totally different arts. The narrative in both has to be managed differently so the message can get to the spectators. So I understand the challenged it is to adapt a novel and turn it into a script. My solution is to enjoy the movie for what it is and what is made of. If I am going to compare it harshly I’ll do it in its own gender: with the rest of the Harry potter films. This is a movie that along with the goblet of fire helps us experience the evolution in the characters. The kids are growing and now they turned into teenagers, who have to deal with so many issues

The visuals: are great, but at times they seem to have changed effects that had been used in previous movies. To me that’s a mistake, as a movie spectator, no matter how the direction changes I always want to see certain connection between movies that will keep me believing that no matter who is behind it, this is always a Harry potter sequel. ***Spoilers*** Two effects that changed a lot were the dementors and Sirius talking to Harry through the fire in the chimney. Still, that final battle is really impressive.***spoilers** The actors: The old actors seem to be giving a lot and that’s great. The new actors showed quite potential for the characters. Dolores: is pretty convincing as a despicable just plain odious teacher. Tonks: is sweet in a way and funny in other, to me that said well about her. Bellatrix: I think she was my favorite. She had this crazy, detestable glow. Although her intervention was small, I don’t think anybody was left with doubts about her personality or her further importance in the story. Finally, Luna: sweet, strange, not comprehended, sometimes creepy. But her addition to the gang was progressive and well assumed. I think Voldemort is amazing! His intervention in the goblet of fire and now in this movie just makes me see that Ralph Fiennes couldn’t be more perfect. The music: ?Honestly? At times I almost hated the music. I just beg for john Williams to get back in the sequel. I’m sorry but the music in this movie was just plain, sometimes even dull. It was nothing compared to the previous four. If they are going to change Williams, they should do it for someone in the same high category. I have to admit that my favorite movies are goblet of fire and in second place Prisoner of Azkaban. But order of phoenix gave out great tools to continue to experience the wonders that come up ahead in the lives of these amazing characters. I loved the movie getting darker, and I always think that creativity and having the guts to dare to give new aspects into each of the movies are some of the qualities a Harry potter director should have to put it together. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the books, J.K Rowling is a genius. But separately I like to see a well assembled story that will make me experience something as amazing as the Harry potter world. Order of phoenix is great, impressive and emotional. Of course I found stuff I didn’t like, but I found stuff I loved, I’m looking forward to the next.

    Great film

Whatever normandbutter may say, this movie is wonderful. Everybody is beautifully cast, and they are all believable. Ed Speleers gives a wonderful performance for his first time acting, and it is another great performance from Jeremy Irons. Those who don’t like it shouldn’t be on this website, because if you don’t like something then there’s no reason to go to a web page dedicated to it. See this movie, it is beautifully done and if you buy the two disk special edition, watch all of the second disk, it will give you a greater appreciation for it. I own the two disk special edition, and after watching everything from the movie to how they made Saphira fly, I wanted to watch it again and again.

“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” Movie Review

“HP and the HBP” Plot Summary

As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously ‘This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince’ and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past. |

One of the Summer’s Best Blockbuster’s

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth installment in the Harry Potter series, and it is the greatest one yet. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince mixes comedy, romance, drama, and adventure into one, and makes it so marvelous and fun to watch.

The acting in this film than in the earlier ones is more mature and better in quality, also in part because of the maturity of all the actors in the film. Jim Broadbent, Alan Rickman, and Michael Gambon are brilliant and elegant to watch in this masterpiece. The trio, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe are also amazing in their roles and pull them off well.

The directing and visuals in this one are marvelous. David Yates gives his best directing in his career to date, and does an amazing job of telling the storyline of J.K Rowling’s fantastic book. The visual effects are so well done and look so real. The cinematography sets the tone for the whole movie right from start to finish, and turns the series in a even darker direction. I also give praise to Hooper’s score which is beautiful and sets the tone in certain dark scenes.

To cap it off, the last half hour of the film is just delicious. The effects, cinematography, and acting are stunning in the last half hour, and sets up for a shocking ending. The movie is not sort of rushed, but you feel that it is being pushed forward. It doesn’t feel long at all because of everything going on, so it passes by normally. Quidditch is back and is certainly the funnest part of the movie and is action packed. The romance in this film is done well and is done humorously. Everyone in this film, whether it be Harry, Hermione, or Rom, all have love on their mind. Half-Blood Prince is also very funny, and Ron will have you laughing a lot.

A great film that most people will enjoy and especially fans of the books. It combines a lot of genres together and makes the film feel more real and more magnificent then the others. It’s a pleasure to watch, and when your done, you just can’t wait for the next two to come out. I hope you enjoy it!

    “Cutthroat Island” Movie Review

    “Cutthroat Island” Plot Summary

A female pirate and her companion race against their rivals to find a hidden island that contains a fabulous treasure.

    Fantastic, fun, pirate adventure!

When I saw this movie, I was carried away by the excitement of the adventure. I have waited a very long time to finally see a heroine as strong, fascinating, and likeable as Morgan Adams (Geena Davis). Her character is a wonderful change from most female characters I’ve seen. Davis is in a perfect role as a rough pirate woman

Throughout the movie I remember hearing the audience cheering and clapping as the pirate companions foiled their foes. Everyone seemed to be electrified by the pure pirate adventure and chattered excitedly to one another as they exited the theater. Imagine my surprise when I heard how lousy this movie did in the box office

I believe this movie’s box office failure was a prime example of bad-timing and scathing reviews. Such reviews made me wonder if any of the reviewers had actually watched the movie! Pirate adventures are meant to be simple — all treasure hunt and swashbuckling style. The incredible, well-done explosions and death defying stunts made this movie an edge of the seat experience

Anyone who has ever enjoyed pirate adventure stories or role-played in treasure hunting genres will truly enjoy the fun ride of this movie

Sometimes a treasure hunt is just a treasure hunt! Enjoy it!

    “Marley & Me” Movie Review

    “Marley and Me” Plot Summary

A family learns important life lessons from their adorable, but naughty and neurotic dog.

Best film of the holiday season

Short-attention-span synopsis: Best film of the holiday season

Marley & Me (PG, 2:00) 9I felt bad having to deliver the news to my fellow fans about what a poor crop of SF&F films we have to pick from this holiday season, so let me make it up to you by giving a totally unqualified recommendation for Marley & Me! It’s not science fiction. Heck, it’s barely fiction at all, since it’s drawn from the real-life experiences of newspaper columnist John Grogan, his wife Jen, their kids, and their yellow labrador retriever, Marley, ‘the worst dog in the world’.I do some database work for the Wisconsin Academy of Graduate Service Dogs, and I have to say that Marley would have washed out of the academy in 15 minutes. He’d be a terrible service dog, but he makes a wonderful friend

This film is utterly realistic. It never strikes a forced or false note. There are lots of laffs, but they all arise organically out of real life. John and Jen are good, decent people (like virtually all Americans), and they behave naturally, without any visible ‘acting’. It’s a little slice of Americana. If a big-budget spectacular like Benjamin Button had been able to muster a quarter of the heart of this modest film, they’d already be rolling Oscar’s red carpet up to its front door.’I'd like to be the man my dog thinks I am.’ — Mike McGuire, songwriter

    “Aladdin” Plot Summary

Aladdin, a street urchin, accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They love each other, but she can only marry a prince.

Aladdin is my favorite movie of all time.

This is my favorite movie of all time. I have loved this movie since I saw it when it came out in 1992. I have watched it so many times, that I know all the words. I think this movie is great to watch with the kids. Or even if you don’t have kids. I own all three on DVD and VHS. It is the first movie my daughter saw. I think it is the best Disney movie ever made. I like all three, but the first is still my favorite one. it’s the original that sticks with you. the others may be good, but not as good as the first. I hope everyone can enjoy this movie. I think no matter how old you are, or no matter what you do, that there is always room for a good Disney movie.
