Better than the first!
I for one was not totally blown away by the first Spider-Man film. Yes, it is a good comic to film, but somehow I just didn’t get caught up in all the hoopla. That was changed with Spider-Man 2. This film took the successful elements from the first (character and acting) and pushed it up another notch
We were given again only 1 new villain, this saved much needed time to flesh out Peter Parker/Spider-Man as well as further the other story lines going on with those surrounding Peter. The struggle that Peter goes through; should he or shouldn’t he sacrifice his life for others, is handled beautifully here. You feel that struggle. He may be a ’superhero’, but he is still just a kid trying to sort out his life. A life that seems to sucker punch him every single day. I thought this was the most logical step to take the franchise after the introduction in the first. The special effects this time were much improved over the first. Many times I was taken out of the moment in the first film because the effects looked to much like effects and were not natural. That is still a problem from time to time here again, but by in large a much better outing
Story, performances, effects, all were improved in the 2nd installment, something we just don’t see happen a lot. One of the best comic to film productions ever in my opinion.

“Death Proof” Movie Review
“Grindhouse: Death Proof” Plot Summary
Two separate sets of voluptuous women are stalked at different times by a scarred stuntman who uses his “death proof” cars to execute his murderous plans.
Excellent!!!
I haven’t the slightest idea why all of these guys are on here hating on this movie? Could it be that they are the type of guys who don’t care to hear women talk (at all)? I know were just supposed to look sexy and be completely helpless victims in horror flicks. Kicking ass is never supposed to be a woman’s job in a horror flick. You’ll definitely hear some girl talk in this flick. There will be some banter, bickering, laughing, loving, intellectual conversations and downright irrational conversations. You know ‘every day’ girl talk. Add this to some serious bone chilling/thrilling action and you’re all set to go. This is a completely brilliant film that will have you holding on to the edge of your seat. The soundtrack and the non CGI special effects are a special treat. Death Proof is one of my all time favorites.

“Julie & Julia” Movie Review
“Julie & Julia” Plot Summary
Julia Child’s story of her start in the cooking profession is intertwined with blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge to cook all the recipes in Child’s first book. add synopsis
yummy.
I have to say this movie met, but didn’t quite exceed my expectations. A little word of advice: don’t go see this hungry! I left wanting buy Mastering the Art of French Cooking! The story moves along nicely, but never really has a high point. Just a lot of good humor and French food. Of the two leading characters, I found Julia to be much more entertaining to watch, proving once again that Meryl Streep can do absolutely no wrong. Streep is a joy to watch as she towers over most of the extras as the 6′2 Child and captures Julia’s love of life and big personality perfectly. I smell another Oscar nomination coming her way. That doesn’t mean that Amy Adams wasn’t good, it was just that Julie wasn’t as interesting. Stanley Tucci was also very good as Paul, Julia’s husband. This movie isn’t anything spectacular but certainly doesn’t disappoint. It leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart and an empty stomach. Bon Appetit!
