    “Heat” Movie Review

    “Heat” Plot Summary

A Los Angeles crime saga, “Heat” focuses on the lives of two men on opposite sides of the law – one a detective; the other a thief.

One Of The Best Crime Films Ever

I really believe this is one the great crime movies of all time. It has some drawbacks that wouldn’t make me recommend this for family viewing – tons of f- words by Al Pacino and a few bloody scenes, but as far as a fascinating crime story: wow! This movie made modern-day history because it was the first time two of the great actors of this generation – Pacino and Robert De Niro – finally acted together in the same film. Those two didn’t disappoint, either. They were great to watch and one of the huge highlights of the film, to me, was when they faced each other in a simple conversation over a cup of coffee. That conversation has always fascinated me, no matter how many times I’ve heard it. It was such a ‘landmark’ scene that It’s even the subject of a short documentary on the special-edition DVD.As with the conversation scene, the shootout segment in the streets of Los Angeles still astounds me no matter how many times I see it. The other action scenes are intense and memorable, too, and the cast in here is deep. This isn’t just Pacino and De Niro. It’s Val Kilmer, Ashley Judd, Jon Voight, Diana Venora, Natlie Portman, Tom Sizemore, Amy Brenamann, Wes Studi, Ted Levine, Mykelti Williamson, on and on. Put that fabulous cast under Michael Mann, one of the best directors in business, add a great soundtrack and interesting camera-work and you have a great film. At three hours long, it never bores one and at same time, doesn’t overdo the action, either. I read one critic criticize this film because of the time taken to examine the personal lives of the main characters, but you can’t have three hours of nothing but action. The only scene I felt went on a bit too long was the ending chase at the airport, but that’s nitpicking considering the film as a whole

This is just one of those movies where a great cast and director live up to their billing.

    “Caddyshack” Movie Review

    “Caddyshack” Plot Summary

An exclusive golf course has to deal with a brash new member and a destructive dancing gopher.

    Masterpiece!

In writing this review, I am not going to attempt to draft out a lengthy summary outlining the pro’s and cons of this film. I’m also not going to talk about plot structure or the boundaries of character development. Furthermore, I’m not going to analyze the social ramifications of this flick, or discuss it’s effect on society. An achievement such as this, does not require that much thought or labor. Anyone who would try to do so, is a moron (And most likely a fan of those crap-filled ‘Lord of the Ring’ movies). Instead, I’m going to state this single opinion, in the simplest possible terms: ‘Caddyshack’ is not the greatest film ever. Heck, it’s not even my favorite (‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’). But, when speaking of features in the comedic genre of film, it is without a doubt, an undebatable fact, that ‘Caddyshack’, is the funniest of all time! Many women will argue that point (my girlfriend being one of the them), and that’s quite all right. Because ‘Caddyshack’ isn’t designed to appeal to an estrogen-ladened mind. Any guy, however, who decides to ridicule ‘Caddyshack’, needs to immediately check his equipment, to make sure that’s it’s still intact, as ‘Caddyshack’ is truly the ultimate guy movie, suitable for exposition at any function where alcohol is being consumed. If you’ve seen it… see it again. If you’ve never had the pleasure, quit reading this darn review, and acquire it immediately.

    “Hannibal” Movie Review

    “Hannibal” Plot Summary

Hannibal returns to America and attempts to make contact with disgraced Agent Starling and survive a vengeful victim’s plan.

    Pretty intense and disturbing

Hannibal, the follow up to Silence of the Lambs, is pretty good. Now, I just have to say, Julianna Moore cannot replace Jodie Foster, but she sure did a good job, and came close to being on par, its just that her character isn’t the same because its not Jodie Foster. That being said, the film is pretty good, better than I expected actually. Anthony Hopkins as always gives an outstanding performance. He is so creepy and bizarre, its just great. Ray Liotta also does good, but that actually goes for most of the cast in the movie. Its a great thriller and good follow up. However, unlike silence of the lambs, which was more subtle with the outright violence, this is much more gruesome and cringe worthy, especially one scene (sure to shock viewers). A must see in for anyone who liked Silence of the Lambs or a fan of thrillers. I rate this 7/10. Rated R for Strong gruesome violence, some nudity and language

    “RoboCop 2″ Movie Review

    “RoboCop 2″ Plot Summary

A corrupt businesswoman seeks to disable Robocop in favor of her own model of cyborg. add synopsis

    One Awesome Action-Packed Sequel.

Robocop 2 is a very amusing movie that is often times unfairly criticized. It is obviously not as good as the first film, but its still a darn good sequel. This movie, just like the first, always gets made fun of and I can’t see why. I think these movies are just so entertaining. Here’s my two cents

I am a huge fan of these Sci-Fi/Action movies, and Robocop is definitely one of the coolest in the genre. The first film is a classic, but most people don’t seem too fond of it’s sequel. Robocop 2 is dark, cruel, and gruesome, but it never misses it’s chance to fit in a joke. The humor in this movie is just as good as the first’s, if not better. The acting is a little poor at times, but you can’t expect too much out of a film like this. Robocop 2’s story is less diverting, but the special effects are superior to the first. This movie has a much better climax than the original, and the final moments of violence at the ending have some of the best special effects I have ever seen(without the use of cgi)in a movie

My problem is that people always accuse films like this of not being realistic enough. What should you expect from a title like ‘Robocop 2′? People need to just sit back and suspend disbelief for a movie like this. The Robocop movies are pure bloody fun, that’s all. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes violent ‘machine vs. machine’ warfare, and being a fan of the first movie couldn’t hurt either.

    “The Astronaut’s Wife” Movie Review

    “The Astronaut’s Wife” Plot Summary

A pair of shuttle astronauts leave their spacecraft to repair a satellite. There’s an explosion. NASA loses contact for two minutes… add synopsis

    Quite good.

I actually enjoyed this film. Someone mentioned that it’s 95% setup and 5% payoff. Well, that’s what I liked about it. In fact, I could have done without the 5% payoff. We are told that *something* happened to the astronaut while he was in space. As long as this event is left unexplained, the audience is kept in the dark as to how the story will evolve. This is a blissful state of ignorance. It’s the same kind of Sci-Fi as ‘2001, A Space Odyssey’. Not in terms of the plot, but how the space is used solely to grasp the mystery and the incomprehensible and bring it to the screen. When it’s revealed what actually happened to the astronaut, the movie becomes weaker, but doesn’t fall apart completely.

    “Last Action Hero” Plot Summary

A young movie fan gets thrown into the movie world of his favourite action film character.

    One of Schwarzeneggers best

After Terminator 1 this is Arnold Schwarzeneggers best movie. I can’t understand, why this is so underrated. I love the self-ironic in this film. This movie shows that Arnie is much more intelligent and humorous than a lot of people thought before. I gave it a rate of 9.
