    “Scream 2″ Movie Review

    “Scream 2″ Plot Summary

It has been two years since the tragic events at Woodsboro. Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks are trying to get on with their lives… add synopsis

My favorite of the three films.

Two years has passed… the infamous murders at Woodsboro has turned into a movie. Since the novel is written by reporter Gale Wheaters (Courtney Cox). Two college students (Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps) were killed in a sneak peak of a horror movie called ‘Stab’, which is based on Wheaters’ book. Now Sidney (Neve Campbell), Randy (Jamie Kennedy), Dewey (David Arquette), Gale and Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) find themselves in danger. This killer certainly wants something from Sidney, so she’s also putting her boyfriend (Jerry O’Connell) and her two friends (Timothy Olyphant & Elise Neal) in deep trouble as well

Directed by Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Shocker) made an truly enjoyable sequel to ‘Scream’ that is even more entertaining and funnier than the original. The script by Kevin Williamson (Cursed, Teaching Miss Tingle) certainly made some truly fun writing about the rules of a sequel. This was just as a blockbusters as the original was. Some film critics (For example the late Gene Siskel) felt the sequel was much better. There’s an amusing film within the film, which those scenes are directed (uncredited) by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids Trilogy, Grindhouse, The Faculty).

The Original DVD has an sharp non-anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD includes Cast & Crew information and the original theatrical trailer. The only flaw in the sequel is the conclusion, which is a bit too much. ‘Scream 2′ has many funny moments as well for suspenseful moments. A good cast certainly helps. Heather Graham, Joshua Jackson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tori Spelling, Luke Wilson and others appears in bit parts. ‘Scream 2′ is certainly one of the better sequels has to offer these days and don’t miss it. Also available in a collector’e edition DVD with anamorphic widescreen, commentary by the filmmakers and more. Panavision. (****/*****).

    “Appaloosa” Movie Review

    “Appaloosa” Plot Summary

Two friends hired to police a small town that is suffering under the rule of a rancher find their job complicated by the arrival of a young widow.

    Good, solid, old-fashioned western.

Appaloosa is a very old-fashioned western. It does not fit in line with the more recent flux of modern-day westerns such as Assassination of Jesse James, There Will Be Blood, and (to some extent) No Country For Old Men. The most recent comparison that I can think of is 2004’s Open Range, which in my mind, was the superior of the two. This is not to say that I did not enjoy the film. Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen have great on-screen chemistry and there are plenty of humorous moments between the two characters. The film also delivers on the expected quota of shoot-outs that any western fan would appreciate. When they happen they happen fast, a fact that is amusingly observed by the two leads during one devastating gun battle. The problem with this film is that everything seems overly familiar. Though I cannot always pinpoint where I have seen particular scenes before, I still feel that I have seen them, and you are never in any doubt as to where the film is heading. I went in to this film not knowing that it was an adaptation of a novel. After also hearing that it is a very ‘faithful’ adaptation I am led to believe that any narrative familiarity is most likely the fault of the source material and not that of Ed Harris, who of course co-wrote the the screenplay. As it stands, Harris’ direction is handled very nicely, and the film certainly looks beautiful enough. The only other gripe I have is the casting of Renee Zellweger. I have nothing against her personally. She’s a fine actress who has proved herself many times with the likes of Cold Mountain, Bridget Jones, and Chicago. But she does not fit in the role she is given here and I spent most of her screen time wishing someone else in the part. Despite these grumbles Appaloosa is a well made example of the genre that probably deserves more recognition than the average Friday night pop-corn trash that Hollywood has a tendency to put out.

“Beverly Hills Cop 3″ Plot Summary

Axel Foley, while investigating a car theft ring, comes across something much bigger than that: the same men who shot his boss are running a counterfeit money ring out of a theme park in Los Angeles. add synopsis

    A Pretty Good Movie….

OK Now BHC III doesn’t live up to the first 2, but in my opinion is still very underrated. It still has a lot of action in it a lot of shooting a good story and is also funny because of Murphy. The only thing I did not like about this movie was Cox, and Ashton were not in this one. They were a big part of the first two. But in conclusion this was a very good movie and I enjoyed all 3 very very much and I’m a Big Eddie Murphy fan now because of these movies. I can honestly say that I was not a fan of him at all until I saw these movies. I own all 3 of these movies, and if the 4th one does end up being made hopefully it will be like the first 3 and still be a rated R movie with a lot of action and comedy like these 3. I really really hope they don’t bring down the rating and make this a family movie or ruin this at all. AXEL RULES!!!! Thank You MR4

“National Treasure: Book of Secrets” Movie Review

    “National Treasure 2″ Plot Summary

Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates looks to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, by uncovering the mystery within the 18 pages missing from assassin John Wilkes Booth’s diary.

    Enjoyable and recommendable

It was a good movie but not as good as the first one. I think that its just the same story as the first one with very little changes. Treasure hunter Ben Gates tries to clean its name by looking for an ancient treasure. The first half of the movie is kinda slow and even tiresome, too much talking and very little action. But it gets better on the second part towards to the end. The cast is excellent, Nicolas Cage in a role he knows very well, Jon Voight as Cage fathers is very convincing, Ed Harris is the bad guy that the only thing he wants is to find the treasure and keep it to himself, Harvey Keitel as an FBI agent wit a brief but convincing performance and Helen Mirren as Nicola’s mother with a good and even funny performance. Although this movie isn’t the greatest thing, it is very enjoyable and entertaining, perfect to spend some time with the family.

    “The Astronaut’s Wife” Movie Review

    “The Astronaut’s Wife” Plot Summary

A pair of shuttle astronauts leave their spacecraft to repair a satellite. There’s an explosion. NASA loses contact for two minutes… add synopsis

    Quite good.

I actually enjoyed this film. Someone mentioned that it’s 95% setup and 5% payoff. Well, that’s what I liked about it. In fact, I could have done without the 5% payoff. We are told that *something* happened to the astronaut while he was in space. As long as this event is left unexplained, the audience is kept in the dark as to how the story will evolve. This is a blissful state of ignorance. It’s the same kind of Sci-Fi as ‘2001, A Space Odyssey’. Not in terms of the plot, but how the space is used solely to grasp the mystery and the incomprehensible and bring it to the screen. When it’s revealed what actually happened to the astronaut, the movie becomes weaker, but doesn’t fall apart completely.
