“You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” Movie Review

“You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” Plot Summary

An Israeli Special Forces Soldier fakes his death so he can re-emerge in New York City as a hair stylist. add synopsis

To this movie makers thank you.

To comment on this movie, there are two main sides: First one would be Adam Sandler, I have always liked his movies, for the light kind of comedy he presents, you watch and you laugh but you don’t expect to come out of the movie with a deeper message or something remotely philosophic to think about, I find that when Adam Sandler tries to go deep, his movies become quite depressing and nonsensical, ‘Click’ quickly comes to mind

The thing about the Zohan, is that I laughed a lot in some parts, but I find his affairs with the older ladies to be a bit repetitive and leaning towards downright BORING. Also the crude language and the oh-too-much ‘crotch’ view makes it quite impossible to let your kids watch the movie, which is a pity, because I find the hilarious fight scenes and the Zohan’s ’supernatural’ cool stunts would have been fun for kids to watch

Second point of view would be from an Arab point of view; I started watching this movie, preparing myself to get offended, and mind you I am a very broad minded person … However, I was pleasantly surprised, for the first time in my life I see a movie that does not picture Arabs as animal-like, heartless, brainless killing machines. They are just people, trying to make a living, even the avenging one has a reason, the Zohan stole his goat

Watching this movie, I tried to forget that I am an Arab, and I see that it is portraying – in a very silly and somehow inaccurate way – two opposing sides, and suggesting that they stop fighting, get over their differences to see that they are in fact similar

The movie makers get my personal ‘thank you’ for that, it is no different than watching a movie about the conflict between ‘black’ and ‘white’ people after the civil war, or about Americans and Japanese directly after WWII, there is no prejudices against Arabs here

For the very first time, someone has discovered that Arabs are human beings too. So THANK YOU.

“This Is It” Movie Review

“This Is It” Plot Summary

A compilation of interviews, rehearsals and backstage footage of Michael Jackson as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows in London.

It’s All For Love

A strong feeling of love towards myself, everyone around me and planet Earth is what I left the cinema feeling. Michael was alive again for those two hours. This Is It showcases the King of Pop at his finest

As the lights blackened and the Columbia Pictures animation played, the theatre erupted with cheers of ‘I love you Michael’ and ‘God bless you Michael’. After the chaos died down the audience sat in awe as the King did what he did best; he thrilled us

From the rocking tunes of They Don’t Care About Us and Beat It(which I was particularly impressed with) to those real toe tapping hits such as The Way You Make Me Feel, Billie Jean and Wanna Be Startin’ Something to the beautifully emotional songs that really showcased Michael’s ability as a singer such as Human Nature and I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, Michael truly dominated the stage. Every single person in the theatre was singing along and clapping for and after every song. I was over the moon with the recreation of the Jackson Five seeing as The Love You Save is a touching one for me. The real fun came with the especially theatrical numbers that were Thriller and Smooth Criminal, both had me in fits of happiness. Then, after a dramatic and heart touching rendition of Earth Song, Man In The Mirror drew the whole show to its close, emanating love and Michael’s passion for people to make a change

I saw not one single thing, in my opinion, wrong with this film and I believe everyone will enjoy it. If you aren’t a Michael Jackson fan, while you may not appreciate the significance of This Is It, you will sure as hell have a brilliant time. And if you are an MJ fan, you will truly appreciate the greatness and strong sense of meaning behind the final documentation of the true King of Pop’s work, the legacy of Michael Jackon.

“G-Force” Movie Review

“G-Force” Plot Summary

A specially trained squad of guinea pigs is dispatched to stop a diabolical billionaire from taking over the world. |

Best FUN movie of 2009

Hi, I watched this movie today and I actually write comments on movies which I hate or LOVE the most. This one belongs to the MOST LOVED category.

G-Force (2009)(********Spoliers*********)

Directed by Academy Award-winning VFX artist Hoyt Yeatman, making his directional debut, G-Force tells the strange story about a secret special US government organization of skilled trained animals. Funded by FBI, this special agent animals got advanced tools, including an high-tech earpiece that allows them to talk to humans. Things went wrong when FBI decided to shutdown the Unit, making G-Force members to crack down the classified case of Leonard Saber (Bill Nighy).

Written by Cormac Wibberley, Marianne Wibberley tells the amazing story of Guinea pigs, happens to be Secret Agents. Even tough the plot evolves with usual ‘Underdog-Pixar 3D story lines’, it really makes a mark during the second half. They managed to created unique personalities to their characters, but at some parts I smelled Stereotypes.

The voice actors were brilliant, especially PenГ©lope Cruz as Juarez the female Spanish Guinea pig, Tracy Morgan as Blaster and Steve Buscemi as Bucky the Hamster. The much surprise came from Nicolas Cage as Speckles the Star-Nosed Mole, and I don’t know why he altered his great sound for this character, I found it difficult to recognizance the original voice. All in all it was Sam Rockwell who wind up the show with his Heroic character Darwin.

And the soul created for this movie by Trevor Rabin was stunning. The score really toned the action sequences, and the story development.

As a VFX student I enjoyed this movie from start to end, it’s a great fun movie, I recommend it to everyone. In story wise and in technically wise it’s eye-candy. I must say I never seen such a CGI execution in detail (not even in Transformers), such a brilliant work from director Hoyt Yeatman. He truly deserves some recognition. And also the legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer teaming again with Walt Disney for his first 3D feature. By G-Force he really marked his position again.

I give this movie 10 out of 10. And I am waiting for the Sequel!

G-Force = Be the Force with YOU.
