“The Pursuit of Happyness” Movie Review

“The Pursuit of Happyness” Plot Summary

A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he’s poised to begin a life-changing professional endeavor. add synopsis

I’m still wiping the tears from my eyes

I was so hesitant to see The Pursuit of Happiness for one reason, this movie looked like an incredible tear jerker, just from the trailer I was nearly crying. But my friend and I had been hearing incredible reviews about this movie, so we decided to suck it up and see the movie today and we were just blown away by how amazing Will Smith’s performance was. He and his son were just so incredibly heart warming and really reminded you of the important things in life. I was so touched by Chris’s story, he was so determined, this movie makes you wanna go out and achieve your dreams and to never let anyone tell you what is right and what is wrong, what you can and cannot do

Chris Gardner is a struggling salesmen trying just to make the rent, buy food, and take the best care of his son that he possibly can. When his wife leaves him and his son to go get a better life, Chris is left on his own, but he wins an internship at a stocks broker company that is very competitive. Against incredible odds, he just pulls through the ultimate lows of life and keeps his head up with his son by his side. They become homeless, living in hotels, homeless shelters, and even a cruddy subway bathroom! But Chris holds on to his ultimate dream of being happy and giving him and his son the life they truly deserve

This movie in every way possible is perfect, it was so brilliantly made and just so inspiring. Will Smith better be nominated for an Oscar next month! This was an incredible performance and his son was just so cute, I guess talent really does run in his family. :) I would highly recommend The Pursuit of Happiness this year! It was a beautiful film that makes you feel like you can achieve anything you truly put you heart too, I just wish I brought more tissues! 10/10

“RocknRolla” Movie Review

“RocknRolla” Plot Summary

In London, a real-estate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs, attracting some of the city’s scrappiest tough guys and its more established underworld types, all of whom are looking to get rich quick. While the city’s seasoned criminals vie for the cash, an unexpected player — a drugged out rock ‘n’ roller presumed to be dead but very much alive — has a multi-million dollar prize fall into his hands.

Guy Ritchie at his best

Guy Ritchie’s career has run red hot and ice cold over the yrs. Guy’s unique European gangster movies know how to have fun. Really cool violence w/ really cool lines

Guy Ritchie busted out w/ cult gangster faves Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Then Madonna drained his awesome storytelling w/ Swept Away. Then came weak Revolver. Madonna wrecked one of my fave directors

I put off seeing RocknRolla and I regret it. Guy Ritchie is back! Every BLEEPING thing I love about his movies came back in a wave. Unforgettable characters, bad a** story, cool lines, and plenty of action to boot. He did get help from two BLEEPING great actors. Mark Strong ‘Archy’ and Toby Kebbell ‘Johnny Quid’If you gave up on Guy Ritchie come back. RocknRolla will win you over.

“2012″ Movie Review

“2012″ Plot Summary

An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

Great roller-coaster ride

Okay, the first thing I’d like to say is, ignore those comments from members who belong to ‘the worst movie ever club!!’ These members think it is way cool to label every slightly disappointing movie as ‘ the worst movie ever’ and emphasize their juvenility with tons of exclamation marks. They think it is way cool to trash movies.

The movie just isn’t that bad. It’s not that great either so ignore those who gush and tell you how awesome it is and rate it 10 out of 10.

This is a film best viewed in the movie theaters on the largest screen possible to enjoy the thrilling sensation of cities breaking up, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions. This is indeed a thrilling roller-coaster ride. It is best to leave your brain at home, however, as you will cringe at the clichГ©s, the schmaltz, and the absurdities. That doesn’t make it the worst film ever, though. So go for the ride and enjoy the CG effects.

“The Chronicles of Riddick” Movie Review

“The Chronicles of Riddick” Plot Summary

5 years after Pitch Black, the wanted criminal Riddick arrives on a planet called Helion Prime, and finds himself up against an invading empire called the Necromongers, an army that plans to convert or kill all humans in the universe.

Great action, great story, great effects

Great film. I really liked it, being a great fan of Pitch Black (2000). The universe of Riddick is really impressive and way different from the (boring and predictable) other sci-fi titles nowadays (except, maybe Firefly).

Vin Diesel’s character is very well explored in this movie and I guess this is the only Vin Diesel performance that I enjoyed at all. The Necromongers are a very curious and interesting ‘race’ (they have an evil charm, something like the Borgs) and I would like to see more of them and more about Riddick’s past

And I really liked the twist at the ending. I can’t wait to see the third movie of the franchise (if it ever gets released, I hope so).

“Interview with the Vampire” Movie Review

“Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles” Plot Summary

A vampire tells his epic life story: love, betrayal, loneliness, and hunger.

    Vampire Sociology

Brokeback Mountain is said to be the ultimate exam of viewers’ homophobia, but before everybody that’s straight heads out to test their endurance with that film, I think Interview with the Vampire is keeping the throne warm for now. There technically isn’t anything sexual in Interview, but author and screenplay adapter Anne Rice does a fine job establishing the ‘bisexual in nature’ sociology of the vampires and how it compares with the mortals. Goes like this: the vampires cannot be sexual (all of one’s body is dead, so… use your imagination), but when they quench their thirsts for blood on their victims, male or female, the thrills they achieve are so exhilarating that the act is comparable to sex. Once the viewer understands this, with some parts of the movie, it’s hard to decide whether to be disgusted or not, not with the near homosexual relationship between Tom Cruise’s Lestat and Brad Pitt’s Louis (which is acceptable) but with Louis’ little girl companion, in a pedophiliac sense. Kirsten Dunst, who was about 11, gives (still) the best performance of her career as Claudia, an aging vampire whose physical form stays childlike. However, since Claudia becomes adult and beyond and tries to do away with Lestat so Louis can be all hers, it’s hard to watch what still seems to be a child to the naked eye grow so lovelorn for an adult. Their relationship raises tons of questions, some you may not want the answers to. My favorite scenes (tie) are toward the end when Louis seeks fiery revenge on some misled vampires in the name of Claudia and the edgy dialogue and body language exchanged between Louis and Armand (Antonio Banderas, fresh off playing Tom Hanks’ lover in Philadelphia) in the scene after. My beef with the movie is not homophobic by any means. I just don’t like getting beat over the head repeatedly for a point to be made, and casting all ‘pretty boys’ like Cruise, Pitt, Banderas, and Christian Slater as the current-day interviewer is doing just that (though it’s really the only case of it). Other than Pitt, I wish the casting director would have chosen the parts by acting ability and not by shock value.

    “M:I-2″ Plot Summary

A secret agent is sent to Sydney, to find and destroy a genetically modified disease called “Chimera”

    great camerawork

The camerawork is the best part of the movie. The storyline is nothing, something one could come up with in a spare moment on the bus/train. The acting is not bad, but that’s it… not bad

There’s some modestly surprising scenes, but nothing special really. If you like action though… well, there’s plenty of that, and due to the great camerawork, the action is really enjoyable. However, if you want more than just a thin plot covered with action in a nice John Woo filming: watch another movie.

    “The Incredibles” Movie Review

    “The Incredibles” Plot Summary

A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world.

Good Entertainemt For About Any Age

This was somewhat of a surprise hit when it came out in 2004. Most of the attention was on a competing animated film but this is the one that turned out to be a huge box-office success. Word of mouth helped his immensely. It’s what made me check it out, as several friends recommended it. I wound up agreeing with them: it’s excellent entertainment

The visuals and sound are very impressive, but it’s the story that carries this film: a solid combination of humor, drama, suspense, family ties and action. The action, as in many modern-day films, was overdone in the last half hour of the movie but overall….the DVD is a good investment since people 3 to 63 should enjoy this

As an adult, it’s not always easy to keep my attention for two hours with animation but the fact this movie does, tells you how good the story is presented. There are wonderful colors in here, too, and a good 5.1 surround system with a sub-woofer would probably blow the roof off!
