“Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” Movie Review

    “Spy Kids 3″ Plot Summary

Carmen’s caught in a virtual reality game designed by the Kids’ new nemesis, the Toymaker (Stallone). It’s up to Juni to save his sister, and ultimately the world.

A good kid’s movie with something for adults

I have not yet seen the first two in this series, but liked this film for what it is. First and foremost, this is a movie for kids. I went with two kids, one 8, the other 11. The younger one loved the movie and the 3-D aspect and couldn’t wait to log on to the website after she got home (difficult website, though, and she soon lost interest). The older one liked it also, but commented about the ‘Spy Kids’ series, ‘They keep getting dumber and dumber.’ Very young children might be scared by some of the flashy scenes and have trouble with the 3-D part. So, the target audience is pretty narrow, but there are a lot of 5-12 year-old kids out there with parents who need to chaperone them….Now, for adults, this is a lot less painless to sit through than most movies for kids. Ricardo Montalban, for my money, gives a splendid performance and just steals the show from everyone else involved. He gets off a few classic lines (‘I can do much, much more than that’) and, for those who know his history, a few references to his earlier screen incarnations (‘Don’t touch that, it is Corinthian leather.’) Obviously, the kids won’t appreciate his history, but he is an outstanding actor who fills his grandfather role nicely

Sylvester Stallone gives an amusing performance. Selma Hayek is pretty as always, though she doesn’t do much. After that, the supporting cast is pretty low-key. I thought Courtney Jines, who plays Demetra, gave a fine, laid back kind of performance that was perfect for the part. Nobody else really registered very strongly, the stars of the show are the situation and the special effects

The putative stars, the ‘Spy Kids’ themselves, are innocuous and no threat to win any acting awards. I can see why children relate to them, they are portrayed as average kids who are not superior beings or anything like that. Unfortunately, they also are quickly moving out of the ‘kid’ category, so I can understand why the people behind the series have said this is the last in the line

The 3-D gimmick worked for me. I stopped noticing the blue-red glasses after a while. Others say they strain the eyes, but they did not strain mine. I think it was a brilliant decision, although to tell the truth, the 3-D was not that big a deal. I have seen good 3-D, and this is minor league, but it was fun and something different for the kids

As for the plot, well, it involves entering a video game (as in the classic ‘Tron’ and so many subsequent films) and solving a problem. Other than that, it makes no sense, especially the resolution, but I’m sure nobody spent too much time trying to make the plot mean anything. It is fun and has a lot of color and action, so the kids will love it. This is sure to do blockbuster business on dvd as a gift to children. I laughed a few times, so it doesn’t have to be like going to the dentist for an adult, either. Recommended for kids and adults who have to see a kid’s movie with them.

    “Rambo 3″ Plot Summary

Rambo’s Vietnam commanding officer Colonel Trautman is held hostage in Afghanistan, and its up to Rambo to rescue him.

The Best Movie of All Time

Stallone is the best actor for this part. No other action movie can stand next to this one. Good story line also. I think that it is terribly underrated. You could watch it a lot and still not get board of it. It is the first Rambo movie that I saw. The other ones are good but do not compare to this one. Stallone brings the action to this movie. No one could have played it better. Out of 10 this one would deserve a 10. And it leaves out the romantic scenes that were in the 2nd one. It is truly a masterpiece.

    “Rocky 2″ Plot Summary

Rocky struggles in family life after his bout with Apollo Creed, while the embarrassed champ insistently goads him to accept a challenge for a rematch.

    I liked it a lot

Rocky 2 is a really good movie however I honestly don’t think its a necessary movie. The only real difference between this movie and the original is that Rocky wins in this one. I wanted Rocky to win in the first one like every underdog movie but the point of the first one was for him to go the distance. This movie is the ending that I would have liked for Rocky I but I honestly don’t think there needed to be a movie just for that. I enjoyed Rocky 2 and its a good sequel but I don’t think the movies necessary and its not necessary in the Rocky time line. I’ve seen worst Sports Movies and I’ve seen better Sports Movies. The movie also deals with how Rocky would seem if he was rich which is entertaining and interesting.

    “First Blood” Movie Review

    “Rambo: First Blood” Plot Summary

A mentally unstable Vietnam war vet, when abused with a small town’s police force, begins a one man war with it.

This is a Great Great Film!

It is sad that the image of Sly Stallone has become what it has become. He is mocked and used as a punchline by more than a few comics. As a result, many of his films are seen in a less than favorable light. This is very unfortunate, because in ‘First Blood,’ Sly made one of the great all-time action films. However, it is more than an action film, and if the final scene does not make your skin tingle, well, you are not human. In many ways, First Blood captures, more than any other film, the difficulty many returning Vietnam Vets had when they returned to America. They had so many friends and so much responsibility in Vietnam. Back in America, they were isolated and slow to readjust into the peacetime way of life. As a result, many were sent wandering about, or worse, heading to jail. First Blood tells the story of one American hero who you should not push too far. In John Rambo, you have a hero from a war nobody wanted to remember. However, the town that persecuted him will remember him, for a long time.

    Great!

It’s good to see Stallone doing some films even if he is in his late 50’s. After the disappointment of Get Carter, he needed this film. I was impressed by this ‘ Predator, Cliffhanger, Seven’ type film. Maybe not for the fainthearted due to the early drilling scenes but you’ll have fun guessing ‘who dun it’. Also good to see Robert Patrick and Kristofferson in a decent film for ages. The acting’s great for some characters with a few scares. The plot may be basic but I’d recommend you see it.

    “Rocky 5″ Plot Summary

Reluctantly retired from boxing and back from riches to rags, Rocky takes on a new protege who betrays him; As the champ’s son must adjust to his family’s new life after bankruptcy. add synopsis

    Surprisingly good.

I thought Rocky V was supposed to be bad?! No no no! It is certainly different from the other 4 in that this time Rocky is retired and is working at Mickey’s gym which he now owns…and looking after his son. Great, right? A father-son movie. But the wonderful thing is, it isn’t drawn out with boring scenes of bonding and what not. This movie made me more angry than Rocky IV even. I won’t say why for that would just ruin the fun part. This movie stays realistic to the character of Rocky, but this time it is more about his relationship not with himself but with the people around him. This movie is fun.

    8/10.

In Russia, we have saying: all genius – simply. It’s about this film. ‘Cobra’ – as your picture at the wall – nice for your eyes. Sorry for my bad english! Now I’m go to gim – i want to be strong as Cobretti. Arnold and Van Damm, and Sigal – stupid before Stallone! They never made such beautiful script!

    “Rambo 2″ Plot Summary

John Rambo is removed from prison by his former superior, Colonel Samuel Troutman, for a top-secret… add synopsis

A GREAT action film; Stallone IS THE PERFECT RAMBO!!

Sylvester Stallone returns to the silver screen in this second chapter of the Rambo trilogy. This time, he is released from prison under the condition that he return to the Viet Nam area to take pictures of suspected camps where American POW’s are being held. He has to deal with having orders not to use deadly force and then having to dis-obey those very same orders or be killed. He has a new antagonist in the form of a Washington Bureaucrat named Murdoch who leads this fact finding mission. He soon realizes that no one can be trusted and even his former mentor Colonel Troutman (well portrayed by Richard Crenna) is in no position to assist him. What follows is battle after battle with Asian as well as Russian troops leading to an exciting climax where he confronts the REAL enemy. Add this one to your shelf of DVD’s in the action section. This is a well directed and excellent film!

    “Demolition Man” Plot Summary

A cop is brought out of suspended animation in prison to pursue an old ultra-violent enemy who is loose in a nonviolent future society.

    good

beautiful film. As to the usual one, the usual negative comments which talk about a classical film some years 80 which everyone does not like it to the nostalgic ones are met

Sure Heros that this film had to have a judgment in this site. In fact reviewers’ good part has put a high vote to the previous episodes. Because this contrast? I know the reason. Since assumptive reviewers’ good part favorably sees the past and as the past is ‘better’ than the present they have given several credit to the preceding episodes being still the last episode more explosive and spectacular. At this point should reject also the old episodes but there are here two weights and two measure

In fact also cinema masterpieces have been criticized and denigrated. Good part some reviewers of this site belong to the very bad reviewers. Better think separately with its head. I was sure that the god fun old episode did not like it. Who has to be withdrawn is not george lucas but the last reviewer SAMPAT GO AWAY. Cary Guffey
