    “John Q” Movie Review

    “John Q” Plot Summary

A down-on-his luck father, whose insurance won’t cover his son’s heart transplant, takes the hospital’s emergency room hostage until the doctors agree to perform the operation. add synopsis

It’s a good film and Denzel is amazing as usual.

Denzel does a great job in this film. His performance was moving and made me cry. Just as he did in Man on Fire. The film itself isn’t too bad. The music could of been better but they didn’t do a bad job on it. It’s Denzel’s acting that makes the film however. If you are a Denzel fan and feel like watching a well performed and touching film… then get a box of tissues and sit down and watch ‘John Q’. It isn’t his best film but certainly another one of his well performed ones. This story is about a poor family and the poor health system in America. He loves his son dearly and will do anything for him. This is the tale about a man who will stop at nothing to try and save his son’s life who needs a new heart and it truly is touching.

    “Rain Man” Movie Review

    “Rain Man” Plot Summary

Selfish yuppie Charlie Babbitt’s father left a fortune to his savant brother Raymond and a pittance to Charlie; they travel cross-country.

A good drama that gives an idea of what living with an autistic person must be like

It’s not very difficult to see why this movie won four Oscars and was nominated for four more. The academy loves movies about people with difficult lives or with a handicap. Sometimes it almost feels like they are desperate to show that they too have a heart and so a director who hasn’t won anything so far just has to make a movie with such a subject and he can be sure that he will hit the jackpot. Does that also mean that those movies are always excellent? No, although I wish they were. But it has to be said, not all of those movies are bad either, take for instance this ‘Rain Man’. That’s certainly a movie that deserves a closer watch

When the selfish yuppie Charlie Babbitt hears that his father has left behind a fortune after his death, but that he won’t get it, he is furious. He has never had a good relationship with his father, who threw him out as a teenager, but he sure hoped for more than a now antique convertible. And to make things worse for Charlie, he hears that all the money goes to Raymond, an autistic man who he has never seen before in his life, but who appears to be his brother. And if that shock isn’t yet big enough, the man also appears to be able to calculate complicated mathematical problems in his head with great speed and accuracy, but doesn’t even understand what money can be used for. Enraged by all this ‘injustice’, Charlie kidnaps Raymond from his residential home, but then finds out how difficult it is to live with a man who only can live with his fixed routines…This wouldn’t have been a typical eighties movie if there hadn’t been a selfish yuppie in it of course, but I must say that it didn’t bother me this time. The main reason for that is because it accentuates the contrast between the two men even more. Charlie has nothing else but money on his mind, while Raymond doesn’t even know what money is. That’s without any doubt a very smart idea which makes this movie work. And that’s not the only good thing about this movie. The acting for instance is also very good. Especially Dustin Hoffman is excellent, but that has of course much to do with the role that he is playing. Still, his performance is very believable and remarkable. And even though I’m not a huge Tom Cruise fan, I must say that he was really very good in this movie. The role he was playing seemed to be written for him

All in all this is a very good movie that sure deserves to be seen. The acting and the story are far above average and give a good idea of what it must be like to live with an autistic person. I’m convinced that this movie certainly doesn’t deserve a rating lower than 7.5/10.

    “Flubber” Plot Summary

An absent-minded professor discovers “flubber,” a rubber-like super-bouncy substance. add synopsis

    Good update!!!!!

Time for some wacky, funny, scientific fun with Robin Williams as he takes the stage as the ‘Absent-Minded Professor’ in Disney’s 1997 remake of that movie, known simply as ‘Flubber!!!!!’He has a robot assistant, Weebo, and he was late (again) for his wedding, all because he was making ‘flubber,’ flying rubber as it was known. He used the flubber to try to explain everything about his no-show, from falling off his classroom window (which didn’t work), to a high-flying basketball game!!!!!’Flubber’ is one of those films that is better than the original. Sure, both are excellent pieces of ‘genius,’ but this one blows the competition away. Which is why I give it 10 stars!!!!!10/10

“Born on the Fourth of July” Movie Review

“Born on the Fourth of July” Plot Summary

The biography of Ron Kovic. Paralyzed in the Vietnam war, he becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights political activist after feeling betrayed by the country he fought for.

    A forgotten masterpiece!

This has to be one of the the best war films I have ever seen. Where ‘Saving Private Ryan’ fell into a whirlpool of schmaltz or where ‘The Deer Hunter’ caught ‘bad ending’ syndrome, ‘Born’ stood out. It is also the best Oliver Stone film I have ever seen. Where ‘Platoon’ looked cheap and lacked characterisation, where ‘JFK’ felt smothered in special guest cameos, where ‘Natural Born Killers’ looked silly and cartoonish and well, where ‘Scarface’ was just plain shameful, ‘Born On the Fourth of July’ stands out above all of these titles. It confronts you with the true, unrelenting horrors of the Vietnam war with the use of disturbing flashback sequences, kinetically energetic gun battles and slow-motion violence

This film also proved that Cruise was an artistically satisfying actor as well as a commercial one (think ‘Top Gun’). I think we can all agree that this was definitely his tour de force (and, if you’re a ‘Usual Suspects’ fan, you can actually spot Stephen ‘McManus’ Baldwin in the scene where Ronnie and his friends are discussing their futures in a cafe). Sorry if I went a little off the topic at hand there, but I thought some of you might find that interesting. Anyway, if I had to summarise ‘Born On the Fourth of July’ in a few words I’d say something along the lines of really, really, really good or more poetically, moving and unforgettable.

    “Training Day” Movie Review

    “Training Day” Plot Summary

On his first day on the job as a narcotics officer, a rookie cop works with a rogue detective who isn’t what he appears as.

    Excellent

This is one of the best movies I ever saw. It was a long time since I saw a such a good movie. First when I heard about this movie I thought that is another ‘gangsta movie’ with a boring story, a gang war or something like that, in the first 15 or 20 minutes I was a bit disappointed but after this I’ve realized that is a great movie. I thought at this movie o hole day after I saw it,is so close to reality, it is like a reality show or a flagrant made by police with a hidden camera, i never thought a movie like this is possible, makes us think at the life we livin’, at the society as it is, naked, without any clothes on it. The movie has a few errors, but at a movie with such a story does not matter a few issues, practically the story and the mode the movie is made ‘repairs’ the issues keeping you close to screen that you can’t see them. Denzel Washington plays awesome, I haven’t seen somebody playing so good in this kind if role since Al Pacino in Scarface, I’m sure that if a person that doesn’t know Denzel Washington as an actor, watches how he plays, that person will probably tel you that is a men taken from the streets, not an actor. Ethan Hawke plays great to, he was probably deserving an Oscar at the time but perhaps it was just bad luck

It’s an excellent movie with a great story that is waiting for entering Top 250, if you wanna see an exceptional movie you should watch this, I can’t find my words to describe it so I probably have to end my comment here.
