    “Conspiracy Theory” Movie Review

    “Conspiracy Theory” Plot Summary

Jerry Fletcher is a man who sees conspiracies everywhere. But if you keep doing that long enough, sooner or later you’re going to get one right… add synopsis

breathtaking film, outstanding performances you only wish it won’t happen to you.

We have all thought that certain incidents that we can’t explain or the explanation we were given was inadequate, could be because of a greater secret plan or conspiracy, i.e Elvis death, Princess Diana’s accident or JFK’s assasination are some of those mysteries. Well in this film Mel Gibson sees a conspiracy everywhere and tries to pursuade Julia Roberts, that certain ‘incidents’ weren’t quite as they seem. His whole behaviour though tends to be slightly psychotic and therefore no-one really pays attention to him. Except for Julia, who’s not quite sure what to believe. Until the day that Mel is abducted by Patrick Stewart and then gets away, only to show up in the justice department where Julia works, all covered in blood. When Julia hears his story she starts wondering for the first time ‘…what if….’ The story becomes faster and faster and now Julia is a target too

Outstanding performances, great script, brilliant direction

    WELL DONE!

    “American History X” Movie Review

    “American History X” Plot Summary

A former neo-nazi skinhead tries to prevent his younger brother from going down the same wrong path that he did.

    A masterpiece

Consider this: an ultra-low-budget movie on the subject of racism, with no CGI and few special effects of any kind, with all of the action taking place on two or three sets, the plotline basically consisting of two or three people talking at a time punctuated by occasional outbursts of no-holds-barred violence, a massive downer of an ending, and not starring the usual assortment of Hollywood stars. Sounds like an indie for sure, right? But it’s not. It was a Hollywood film, although for the life of me I can’t imagine how any major studio got behind it. AHX is one of the best films of the decade if not of all time. Norton, who was just kicking off his career, is absolutely mesmerizing as a repentant skinhead and Furlong, known primarily for his role in T2 (and whose career has sort of sputtered out), is right up there with him as the confused younger brother. A must-see for everyone, although not the kiddies. An amazing film, right up and through the incredibly sad ending.

“The X Files: I Want to Believe” Movie Review

“The X Files 2″ Plot Summary

Mulder and Scully are called back to duty by the FBI when a former priest claims to be receiving psychic visions pertaining to a kidnapped agent.

    Good movie.

There is a difference in reviewing bad film-making as opposed to personal taste. Frankly, I argue this movie more from personal taste, although X-Files – I Want to Believe is certainly not bad film-making. In all honesty, I was very nervous about X-Files I Want to Believe. Ever since Star Wars the Phantom Menace, I have learned to lower my expectations when venturing into Hollywood movies (although lowering your expectations to nothing could not save the Star Wars Prequels). Nothing is worse than a huge let-down. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull comes to mind the quickest. With X-Files, I Want to Believe, I went in with no expectations whatsoever and was thoroughly entertained. It made me pine for the old television series I loved to watch in the 1990’s (at least until Seasons 8 and 9). Dr. Dana Scully is working at a Catholic Hospital, fighting for a young boy who has little to no chance of surviving. She pushes herself hard, not giving up hope in the wake of despair. She fights for Alexander (the son she lost). The FBI comes to her, asking for help in tracking down Fox Mulder. They want his help in a baffling case. An FBI agent has disappeared. The only link is an unusual psychic. Not only does he have scant visions, he also is pedophile priest under house arrest. Of course, Mulder wants to believe this man. Scully, however, does not. This not only stems from her usual scientific mind, but also her moral outrage at his crimes. As this psychic leads them to various clues, a case slowly uncovers. Some strange, bizarre, twisted scheme of harvesting organs for nefarious purposes arises. Mulder of course ventures closer, putting himself in peril. Scully, balks, wondering if she can continue in Mulder’s dark world. Believe it or not, this one works. In fact, I liked it better than Fight the Future. While Fight the Future was inserted in the ongoing mythology of government conspiracies and alien extra-terrestrials, this one works more as a stand-alone movie, much like the episodes of the same flavor. I admit I liked the latter episodes better. So for the X-Philes who liked the conspiracy episodes better, you may want to stick to Fight the Future. That gets me to wonder if this movie will find new fans for the 15-year-old franchise, or only appeal to X-Philes. Only time can tell on that one. What makes this work for me, though, is that it is in the spirit of the original television series. It does not rely on paranoid delusions, government conspiracies, and alien extra-terrestrials. Instead, it relies more on a potentially dangerous and real situation with surrealism in the background. Just like some of the stand-alone episodes of X-Files, the outcome is not predictable. Also, by the end, the surrealism takes a back-seat to the suspense of catching the antagonists. It also unfolds slowly, not giving us a full glimpse into the nefarious plot finally revealed in the end. Just like the series, the antagonists goal is evil and eerie–pushing the envelope of imagination and fear. Just like the series, the plot is also based on real fringe scientific experiments. Both the movie, and the reality sent a shiver up my spine. By the way, leave the kids at home on this one. Kids younger than 11 or 10 might get some nightmares from this one. This paves the way for one thing X-Files television series did well: lacing messages of philosophy, religious allegory, and faith. Some of the best stuff comes when Fox and Dana converse with each other. Scully fears being with Mulder because his world brings around so much darkness, and she fears that. She also doubts her own faith. Mulder must ask himself questions in regards to his relentless search of the ‘truth.’ Another warning must go out that this movie is not an action movie. It works more like a thriller and a suspense movie instead of lacing itself with shootouts, car chases, and outlandish stunts. It also is not scary, but rather suspenseful. I think if Cris Carter were a better director, it might have found a little more suspense, and possibly a little more fright. That being said, I still think this movie works–at least for me.

    “The Fourth Kind” Movie Review

    “The Fourth Kind” Plot Summary

A thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up.

    Great movie!

This movie was a total surprise, in a good way. The trailer wasn’t particularly amazing, but it did get me excited for the movie. Still though, I came out shocked at how good the movie actually was

First of all, the so-called archival footage and audio that is supposedly real, is fake…or so I think. You can’t really trust Hollywood these days when they release a movie ‘based on true events’. I’m not one to fall for the marketing hype, so I went into the movie with this in the back of my mind. It had no effect on my overall opinion of the movie

The movie was filled with a great story in my opinion, had tons of suspense and had its fair share of disturbing and freaky moments. I wouldn’t be surprised if some small percentage of all the abduction phenomenon reports are in fact real. In the case of the movie though, I highly doubt it was real. Still though, movies are meant for entertainment and this movie certainly accomplished this. It was also refreshing to see the movie give a bit of insight into the Ancient Astronaut Theory. It’s finally getting some mainstream light shed on it

I have no doubt in my mind that extraterrestrial life exists throughout the cosmos, you have to be a truly ignorant and close-minded person to believe that we are alone in this vast, infinite universe. What a waste of space it would be. All in all, great movie, you won’t be disappointed. Go watch it, it will make you question your beliefs.

“Die Hard: With a Vengeance” Movie Review

    “Die Hard 3″ Plot Summary

John McClane and a store owner must play a bomber’s deadly game as they race around New York while trying to stop him.

    The best of the quadrilogy

Man, I was watching this movie the other day and I can’t believe how good this movie is. Even though I liked Die Harder, it lacked the brains of its predecessor. John McTiernan returned to give us an action flick that not only delivers as an action flick but is also quite effective as a thriller.

Simon Peter Gruber(Jeremy Irons) is the brother of Hans Gruber who was killed by McClane in the Nakatomi Plaza. He detonates a few bombs in New York City and sends McClane on ‘Fools Errands’ while covering up his real scheme: to steal gold reserves. McClane is saved from an a**kicking by angry mob by Zeus Carver(Samuel L Jackson), a shop owner. They reluctantly team up to play along with Simon’s games. They later find out his big scheme all along.

Samuel Jackson and Bruce Willis have excellent chemistry together. Plus you have to admire the match up. Zeus Carver has a nationalistic mentality and John McClane is your not-so-average white-bread cop. Despite their differences they still get together to handle the same goal.

Jeremy Irons is magnificent as Simon Peter Gruber. He’s definitely one of the best movie villains in history. His plan showed a clever genius absent from movie villains nowadays. Quite possibly the last serious role that Jeremy Irons had. Tell the truth, can you look at him with a straight face after he starred in Dungeons and Dragons? I think not.

I like the pacing of this movie too. It keeps you glued to the screen and provides a thrill ride from start to finish. Im kind of surprised that this movie didn’t do so well at the box office when everybody knows that its better than Die Hard 2. Plus this movie has lowest score of all Die Hard movies on Rottentomatoes. Shows you just how much these snooty consensus followers really know.

If you’re looking for an action/thriller that doesn’t disappoint you cant go wrong with Die Hard With A Vengeance. It has great acting, a superb villain, a good plot and some engaging action sequences. More effective than what passes for Thriller these days and is easily the most underrated action sequel of all time.

“My Best Friend’s Wedding” Plot Summary

When a woman’s long-time friend says he’s engaged, she realizes she loves him herself… and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding.

Good romantic comedy that will make you laugh, possibly cry, touch you, and make you feel warm inside

MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING, in my opinion, is a good romantic comedy that will make you laugh, possibly cry, touch you, and make you feel warm inside. If you ask me, Julia (Roberts), Dermot (Mulroney), and Cameron (Diaz) dazzle as a jealous food critic, a wandering sports writer, and a sunny-natured heiress! My favorite parts are when Julianne (Julia Roberts) chases after Michael (Dermot Mulroney) as he’s chasing after Kimmy (Cameron Diaz) and when Kimmy and Julianne yell at each other in the ladies’ room at Comiskey Park. The one thing I really hated about this movie was Cameron Diaz’ singing. My friend, Brandon, covered his ears when she sang ‘I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself.’ No offense, Cameron, but, you sang better in THE MASK. In conclusion, there is a moral to this story, and, that moral is, ‘Never take your relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend for granted.’

    “Final Destination 3″ Movie Review

    “Final Destination 3″ Plot Summary

In this third installment of the Final Destination series, a student’s premonition of a deadly rollercoaster ride saves her life and a lucky few, but not from death itself which seeks out those who escaped their fate.

    Best of the three

This film is definitely the best of the three, hands down!! The ending is excellent. It proves that death is inevitable, no matter what! The other two did that, but in the sequel. This film did it at the end, with everyone dying! This one can’t be outdone, so no more final destination’s are necessary! And the pictures, with the predicting death thing, was awesome!! I think that was a good addition! And it was gory, not that the other two weren’t; but this one, you could feel it! It was like you were right there watching it all happen! And just when you think you have it figured out, like with the weight bench or the horse, something happens that surprises you! The other two were extremely predictable and hard to sit through. This one, you were on the edge of your seat the whole time; waiting for something unexpected to happen!!
