    “The Negotiator” Movie Review

    “The Negotiator” Plot Summary

In a desperate attempt to prove his innocence, a skilled police negotiator accused of corruption and murder takes hostages in a government office to gain the time he needs to find the truth. add synopsis

    Exciting procedural thriller

An above average procedural which cashes the potential of Kevin Spacey – and the internal corruption drama of his recent LA Confidential. Hot shot negotiator Danny Roman’s been set up and, in the leave-your-common-sense-at-the-door central act of the film, takes over an entire building and will only deal with the awkward outsider Chris Sabian to negotiate the situation

This is a perfectly cast film. Spacey and Jackson are fine actors and this is really a conflagrated two-hander which requires Jackson to be an action hero occasionally. That’s exactly how it plays out, with Sabian/Spacey’s suspicions being aroused as the rules of negotiation are continually undermined and subverted. The well-executed action in the office block recalls the best bits of Die Hard. 7/10

    “Lethal Weapon 2″ Plot Summary

Riggs and Murtaugh are on the trail of South African diplomats who are using their immunity to engage in criminal activities.

    The adventure continues

The adventure continues with Lethal Weapon 2. All the great characters are back and with some new ones, as well. Joe Pesci enters the Lethal Weapon-series as the annoying and witty Leo Getz(ok ok ok ok?) Riggs and Murtaugh must fight against a South-African diplomat, who`s a big drugdealer. The classic mixture of action and comedy is also to be found here. I have never seen another series of movies (except Die Hard), where all the chapters are just as great as the original film. 9/10

“Bringing Out the Dead” Plot Summary

Frank Pierce is a paramedic working Gotham’s Hell’s Kitchen. He’s become burned out and haunted by visions of the people he’s tried to save. add synopsis

Good once it finds its rhythm

After reading the novel by Joe Connelly this movie is based on(by the way, the title is a reference to MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL), it seemed a perfect fit for director Martin Scorsese, writer Paul Schraeder, and star Nicolas Cage. After all, this is the mean streets of New York, this is about trying to find salvation and redemption in the pits of despair, and it features a character on the edge. But when things start out, I was disappointed. It seems like all three of them, Scorsese, Schraeder, and Cage, were straining to get the effect of the novel, and it felt disjointed. The narration by Cage seems to be covering up for what’s not being shown, which always means trouble

In lesser hands, this might have been a problem. However, Scorsese has the craft to match his passion, and he soon finds the rhythm. The narration is used less and less as the movie goes on, and Cage is gradually able to show his grief, rather than just talk about it. We still don’t feel the impact of the story as much as we do in the novel, but we do feel something, thanks to Cage and Patricia Arquette(as the daughter of a patient he saves). Once it gets going, the black humor, courtesy of Ving Rhames and Tom Sizemore as fellow paramedics and Scorsese and Queen Latifah as dispatchers, helps fuel the picture as well. This isn’t quite as good as Scorsese’s other New York stories, but it is a worthy addition to his canon.

    “Showtime” Plot Summary

A spoof of buddy cop movies where two very different cops are forced to team up on a new reality based T.V. cop show. add synopsis

    Good matinee film

By no means is this film a blockbuster, but it is still a basic comedy and fairly entertaining. I saw this during a Saturday matinee and realized how appropriate that was. It made for a good matinee film to kill an afternoon

Murphy made for a good self-centered introvert. De Niro, as always, can easily adapt himself to any role. Even though he was supposed to be the serious character, it was obvious by the end that he probably had fun making this film

This is definitely one worth renting for a rainy weekend.

    “Bad Boys” Movie Review

    “Bad Boys” Plot Summary

Two hip detectives protect a murder witness while investigating a case of stolen heroin.

    A GREAT ACTION-THRILLER!

Contains SpoilersWILL SMITH and MARTIN LAWRENCE put up a good performance in this one

THE PLOT…. marcus and mike, two, well worthy miami cops that get caught up in a tangled web of, murder, foul play, payback, revenge, and pure hell. when a bondage of one-hundred million dollars of narcotics are stolen from the police department. marcus and mike only have 3 days to find and catch the thives, and on the way of solving the case, mike ask one of his best-friend/girl to help him in her mate-n-date business where women will go with high rollers that call in and ask for a woman for a certian occasion. mike has warned his friend that the thieves could be some big-time ballers that want to party from the drug money and she is on the job. once when max (mike’s girl) goes to the place where she’s ordered to go, she brings along her bestfriend, julie. and when they arrive they run into a certian and familiar face that used to work for the miami police department and when max and julie discover herion on the table, they realize that this was not they’re type of party so julie is requested to go to the bathroom and stall until max can go up and they can bounce in one peace. but, until a group of drug leaders and the lord comes crashing in and shooting max and the ex police officer, julie is upstairs, watching the whole murder and when she is spotted (and she could have been not if she would have stayed clear from sight) she is on the run for her life as the men come after her and she makes a near-death excape. then, she is on the run and wanting mike lawry. once when marcus and mike is at the crime scene and discover the police officer and their best friend, dead. and now, they know someone is missing from the scene cause of a glass with two shades of lipstick and that just happens to be.. julie, and now the only hope is to find julie, catch the thives, bust the drug operation, and make a big drug cracking in miami..In some sort of way this movie is quite irratating like a horror movie when someone does something so, so, stupid and it just make some people sick, but that’s the punch line of making an action, horror, thriller, or whatever on the edge of you not knowing if they’re going to make a excape or get killed. but here is some of the irratating momments..–WARNING– SOME SPOILERS; YOU’RE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK(would you walk in a house with the main door, wide open, with a digusting aroma coming from inside?) (would you stay inside a house when the phone goes dead and the lights go off?) (when you was clear and not in sight of when a murder has taken place and knowing that if you were seen you would get be murdered also.) and.. (would you leave your protective costudy area, and knowing you were safe and could not be found unless if someone ‘f***ed up’ and letting the bad people have a clue to where you were. would you leave?)That’s what make me so irritated about some events in a movie. I would not let no child under the age of 13 to see this movie, cause, This movie is rated _R_ and is not there for you to say that it’s o.k and let your child watch it and then be mad because of what it has in it. The movie has some, FOUL and PERSUASIVE LANGUAGE, and STRONG INTENSE-ACTION VIOLENCE..If you want a rush ‘Watch This’ and I would reccomend along with this.. ‘ROMEO MUST DIE. SET IT OFF. MENACE II SOCIETY.’^^ 2 Thumbs Up.*** Stars’ I would not reccomend this movie for deeply religious people, children, or people who do not or take swearing offensively.’
