“The Phantom of the Opera” Movie Review

“The Phantom of the Opera” Plot Summary

A disfigured musical genius, hidden away in the Paris Opera House, terrorizes the opera company for the unwitting benefit of a young protegee whom he trains and loves.

A fantastic experience!

I have seen the movie, Phantom of the Opera, five times, a phenomenon never experienced with any other movie in my life. The movie has such depth and rich details, making it is worthy of spending the time and money to see it five times. Please spare me any more negative comments about Gerard Butler’s performance! I have seen the play in New York and in a regional theater. Of all performances I have seen, Gerard Butler’s portrayal of the Phantom is the finest, most sensitive, and most provocative. His singing is full of emotion, making his character believable and powerful. I would like to see Gerard Butler get some recognition for his performance, because he lifts the character of the Phantom far beyond what it has been in the past. He was perfect for the role, and his acting and singing should be recognized as one of the best performances on the screen this year! Emmy would not have been as great as she was without the performance provided by Gerard Butler. I want to thank Gerard Butler for taking me out of the everyday details of living into a world of ‘music of the night.’ Speak out for Gerard Butler’s receiving recogniton for his truly inspiring performance as the Phantom!

“The Simpsons Movie” Movie Review

“The Simpsons Movie” Plot Summary

After Homer accidentally pollutes the town’s water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons family are declared fugitives.

The Simpsons Movie was Worth the Wait. Fantastic!

I Don’t want to give much away, but this movie truly is EPIC. The storyline is great, so is the animation. The movie is hilarious throughout, and also has one of the most emotional moments ever on The Simpsons. You can see just about every face ever on The Simpsons and they keep making subtle references, such as when Homer and Bart jump Springfield Gorge, the ambulance is still crashed into the tree

It definitely rewards long-time fans, but it is a great movie even for those who don’t watch the Simpsons. CGI only adds to the excellent drawings, and it is very cool to see them on the big screen! If you love the Simpsons, Old or New, you will LOVE this.

“Good Will Hunting” Movie Review

“Good Will Hunting” Plot Summary

Will Hunting, a janitor at MIT, has a gift for mathematics but needs help from a psychologist to find direction in his life.

Excellent!

‘Good Will Hunting’ ranks high on my list of all-time favorite films. Everything about the movie is top-notch, everything. The acting is brilliant. The actors do a splendid job of eliciting an emotional response from the viewer. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Minnie Driver and Robin Williams all shine in their roles, and are an absolute joy to watch

The writing is wonderful. Writers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck put together a magnificent character-driven story about a young man (Damon) with a great intellect and immeasurable potential who must first battle his inner demons with the help of a court ordered psychiatrist (Williams) in order to realize his future

The direction is spot-on. Gus Van Sant does a phenomenal job in visualizing the script and bringing it to life. The cinematography is impressive; it really captures the city of Boston realistically. The soundtrack is terrific and is contextually appropriate to the film. Elliott Smith’s gentle melodies add an exquisite ambiance to the scenes in which they are featured. Other particularly memorable musical moments include the use of ‘Baker Street’ by Gerry Raferty and ‘Afternoon Delight’ sung humorously by Matt Damon during the movie, and again during the end credits by the original artists, the Starland Vocal Band

I strongly recommend this movie, and without hesitation I advise anyone who has not seen it to pick it up immediately. To those who have seen it before, watch it again! I give it 10 out of 10!
