    “Resident Evil” Movie Review

    “Resident Evil” Plot Summary

A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.

One of my most favourite films

I am a huge fan of the video game series; I’ve played & completed almost every Resident Evil game there is. When the film was announced I thought it was going to be rubbish because mostly films that are based on games are completely crap especially the ones made by Uwe Boll, but I still went to see it the first day when it came out in the UK and it was sooooo amazing. I was speechless after I seen the film, the story is truly original and one of the best thing about it is that the first 10 minutes was slow & peaceful but then it went really fast & relentless just like a roller-coaster going up slowly & zoomed down. Paul W. S. Anderson has proved that he is terrific writer & director because it is extremely difficult to create a story for a film that is based on a video game. Milla Jovovich was undoubtedly the best and I loved her red dress to bits, it definitely did suit her. Watching the film gives you a deep insight of the game e.g

When they had about 3 hours limited time to complete their mission

Every time they enter a new place it had to be checked and they had to make sure it’s safe just like in every game

If they where trapped they had to find another way out

In the end Alice & Matt got out without killing all the zombies because Resident Evil is rather a puzzle game and killing is not necessary

The combination of action, horror & thriller is superb; they are my entire favourite genre. It had a lot of style and the use of advanced modern technology that is mostly I look for in a film, the Licker in the end was the icing on the cake. This is the only movie that I liked with zombies in it because most of them are stupid & boring especially House of the Dead, the zombies pop out of nowhere and attack people. In Resident Evil the creation of zombies was very sensible, the staff of the underground laboratory were infected by the T-Virus released into the air vent, after getting killed by the Red Queen to avoid any outside interference their dead bodies were reanimated. It is mentioned very clearly that why they ‘need to feed’, nothing like that has ever been in any film which makes the story original. Dialogues are also good my most favourite quote is ‘You’re all going to die down here’ from the Red Queen, she is one of the best characters along with Alice, Matt & Rain. Background music score is the best music possibly for any film I have ever heard it has heavy metal guitar for the fight scenes and very soft, eerie & sensational for the main title. I have the soundtrack CD and I bought it just for the background score without caring that the other tracks might be good or not but it did turn out to good. There is nothing more I can ask for in a film that makes it one of my all time favourite movies and there is never going to be another film based on a video game like this!

    “Fifth Element” Plot Summary

In the colorful future, a cab driver unwittingly becomes the central figure in the search for a legendary cosmic weapon to keep Evil and Mr Zorg at bay.

    The Diva Cult

This is one of my Favorite Films of All Time . It contains all the elements necessary to keep me coming back time after time . The look of the film is extraordinary . Every scene is stunning . And then there’s the futuristic element . I love all things Sci – Fi . Humor comes next . This film is damn funny . And it never gets stale . Chris Tucker is a scream as Ruby Rhod . His manic , over the top persona made him an instant star if he wasn’t already .

The enigmatic Diva . She who has launched 1000 web sites . We want to know everything about her . Who is she in real life ? Where can you get that wonderful song ? She’s nothing less than thrilling . Thankfully there’s a new DVD of The Fifth Element that explains many aspects of the Diva as well as the rest of the movie . I highly recommend it .

But there’s one thing that’s missing . Not a complaint exactly . Maybe I really don’t want to know . So if you know don’t tell me . What in the world is with the Chocolate Syrup that drips down your face when you come in contact with the Super Evil force ? That is weird squared . So enjoy The Fifth Element and Bosco for everyone !

    “Surrogates” Movie Review

    “Surrogates” Plot Summary

Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others surrogates. |

    Yet another brilliant Willis thriller!

‘Surrogates’ is yet another example of just how good an actor Bruce Willis is. This is a great movie that is exciting throughout the whole thing. There are no boring parts in this movie.

This movie is about a world where almost everyone has a ’surrogate’. A surrogate is basically a robot that is controlled by your mind and lives your life for you while you lie in a special chair. The point of surrogates is that you can live the life you want without any risk to yourself. Then a weapon emerges that when fired at a surrogate can kill the person using the surrogate. This makes the whole point of surrogacy obsolete. So a cop, Tom Greer (Bruce Willis), has to investigate these murders.

The movie is full of action and excitement and certainly is one of Bruce Willis’s best action/thriller films. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in robots, action and thriller movies to watch this one.

    “Zoolander” Movie Review

    “Zoolander” Plot Summary

At the end of his career, a clueless fashion model is brainwashed to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Zoolander – Colorful, Creative, Original and Thoughtful.

By the exaggerated tagline, ‘3% body fat, and 1% brain activity,’ I just knew that Zoolander was going to be smart and funny. And, it was. If you can rise above the literal visual interpretation to the gasoline pump fight, you’ll find it too, has an underlying educational, or at least, helpful message. The characterizations of good guy versus bad guy are whimsical, creative, colorful, and funny. Derek Zoolander, (Ben Stiller) is Ben’s wonderfully exaggerated version of the male model, one who is offering his best attempt to be ‘Balls Models’ 4th year in a row, model of the year. Sadly, he loses to Hansel, (Owen Wilson) a sweet blue, green, star eyed, soft lined, model. At the loss, quirky, carefree and complex, Derek questions his reflection in a puddle of water, ‘Who Am I?’ In search of an answer to his question, he returns home to the coal mines of New Jersey, where his generally reluctant father, Larry Zoolander ( John Voight) and what looks to be his two evidently, (one Judah Friedlander) inarticulate brothers, reside. But, it is Derek’s agent, Maury Ballstein (Jerry Stiller) who encourages him to return to New York, so that Derek can take on the assignment, as model for Mugato’s (Will Ferrell) ‘Derelicte,’ campaign. Maury is passionate and sincerely wants for his models to succeed, at making a living, in modeling. Mugato is obsessed with having Derek assassinate Malaysia’s prime minister, Hassan (Woodrow W. Asai), one with a fondness for fashion and vogue, and a desire to increase pay standards, in the production industry. Derek takes the job, but little does he know that Mugato’s black leathered assistant, Katinka, (Milla Jovovich) will be leading him into a day spa, that is more like a torture chamber, one designed to brainwash him into assassinating Malaysia’s leader. Matilada Jeffries, (Christine Taylor) a reporter for Time, assigned to reporting on fashion events, will soon find herself in the midst of discovering a personal life, originating from her professional one. And fortunately, Hansel, is more than a competitor to Derek, but a friend, who saves both Derek and the leader of Malaysia, from an untimely death

The entire script is so creatively and colorfully articulated and presented, that one cannot help but have just so much fun, or alternatively be filled with suspense, as to whether or not Mugato will have his way with Derek. David Duchovny’s scene, (mystery man on the cell phone), as scruffy bearded, eye glassed, and glass encased hand, J.P. Prewitt, at the cemetery, is really well done. In an interestingly woven monologue, he begins by explaining buried models’ pre-mature deaths, scenes that include butt cheeks and abs sculpted on gravestones. It’s very Tim ‘Robbinseque’ in mood and tone and very well performed

Zoolander was much more rich in plot, characterization, and development than I had expected, after hearing, that ‘it didn’t get great reviews.’ And the story still results in a very happy ending. Good wins over evil, and good guy hero gets girl. So who is Derek Zoolander? Answer: A really sweet guy, who is cute, funny, sensitive, articulate (although can’t say eulogy, and instead says ulogee, but just adds more to his cute and funny attributes), and one who, we gather, has a terrific girlfriend, and cool best friend, with whom he pursues one of his true life long passions, to open up a school for kids, ‘to read really good.’ Zoolander is absolutely a ‘hip’comedy for every audience member.

    “The Fourth Kind” Movie Review

    “The Fourth Kind” Plot Summary

A thriller involving an ongoing unsolved mystery in Alaska, where one town has seen an extraordinary number of unexplained disappearances during the past 40 years and there are accusations of a federal cover up.

    Great movie!

This movie was a total surprise, in a good way. The trailer wasn’t particularly amazing, but it did get me excited for the movie. Still though, I came out shocked at how good the movie actually was

First of all, the so-called archival footage and audio that is supposedly real, is fake…or so I think. You can’t really trust Hollywood these days when they release a movie ‘based on true events’. I’m not one to fall for the marketing hype, so I went into the movie with this in the back of my mind. It had no effect on my overall opinion of the movie

The movie was filled with a great story in my opinion, had tons of suspense and had its fair share of disturbing and freaky moments. I wouldn’t be surprised if some small percentage of all the abduction phenomenon reports are in fact real. In the case of the movie though, I highly doubt it was real. Still though, movies are meant for entertainment and this movie certainly accomplished this. It was also refreshing to see the movie give a bit of insight into the Ancient Astronaut Theory. It’s finally getting some mainstream light shed on it

I have no doubt in my mind that extraterrestrial life exists throughout the cosmos, you have to be a truly ignorant and close-minded person to believe that we are alone in this vast, infinite universe. What a waste of space it would be. All in all, great movie, you won’t be disappointed. Go watch it, it will make you question your beliefs.

“The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc” Movie Review

    “Joan of Arc” Plot Summary

A young girl receives a vision that drives her to rid France of its oppressors. add synopsis

    A fine film

By no means a perfect film but you have to give it a lot of credit for trying to do something different with the material. I love the visual mystery of it all and the at times abstract images. For some reason it feels like there may have been a lot left out during the editing process, but a lot of these types of films have that feeling. Milla Jovovich hit a career high in The Messenger that she has never really lived up to since. What is brave about this film is that fact that it takes such a famous historical figure and does not try to deify her or make her a larger than life hero. She questions herself at every corner. She is confused half the time. Joan of arc in this film never seems to be sure of herself and is not above changing her mind at the last second like in the scene of the retracted confession. Granted, narratively this film can be a bit muddled, but as texture and atmosphere, it is hard to beat. Luc Besson has a sly wit that seems out of place here, for example the scene where an English guard asks ‘What is she doing’ cut to the French fighters ‘I don’t know!’ The score for the Messenger is very unique, with a combination of abstract synthesized sounds and large scale orchestra and choir reminiscent of a biblical epic. I must be honest in saying that I did not entirely like this film when I first saw it in the theater, but it stuck with me, so I went back for a repeat viewing and found I liked it a lot better than I thought. This is a very unique, although not entirely successful take on a very old story.

    “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” Movie Review

    “Resident Evil 2″ Plot Summary

After an outbreak in a top-secret facility, Umbrella ponders on covering up their mistakes by releasing the deadly Nemesis to eliminate surviving STARS members in Raccoon City.

THE funniest movie i have ever seen

*Spoiler Alert* (coincidentally can you spoil crap?) Where on earth to start…oh my, I’m trying to sit here with my friend and figure out how to best describe the utter stupidity presented in this movie…truly a waste of the breath in my lungs…OK, lets start with one of the main characters, Alice whom my friend and I repeatedly referred to as ‘Boomer’ because of her ability to constantly amaze us. This name is merely an understatement, as we are presented with multiple encounters of seemingly ‘near death’ situations in which she quickly devises some witty plan, gains the strength of an ox, the agility of a rabid bunny, and the brain capacity of Stephen Hawking. One incident in particular is the scene in which ‘boomer’ valiantly smashes through an assembly of stained glass windows on her motorcycle and carefully times her departure from the vehicle in the form of a triple back-flip, projecting the motorcycle at high speeds towards the apparently ‘bullet-fast’ creature within the building’s confines, only for the motorcycle to attain a vertical position along the creatures’ abdomen, turning perfectly, exposing the ‘ever-so-small’ gas tank, allowing ‘boomer’ an effortless, but nonetheless accurate shot at the flammable contents of the tank, and thus ‘efficiently’ dispatching this foul creature from existence… With her flawless perfection of shot, and ample bosom, how could anyone despise this movie…for laughs. Certainly not for actual enjoyment

This movie was so bad, i purged in an empty popcorn container, forgot about it, picked up the container once again, and proceeded to name the individual ingredients i recognized as food, and formulated names for things that looked supernatural. That was a much more fulfilling use of my time than watching this crappy flick.

    “Resident Evil: Extinction” Movie Review

    “Resident Evil 3″ Plot Summary

Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp.

    Very good action/horror movie

This was a surprisingly good movie. Definitely the best one out of the three made. I think this film is somewhat under appreciated and under rated. In fact, the more I think about this movie the more I want to see it again, its that kind of movie

It had scary parts along with well done action sequences. Milla Jovovich was really good in it, you can tell she was in great shape for the movie. It was an entertaining movie to watch throughout and never got boring

Nice cinematography in the filming of the desert, and a world that was devastated in the future was presented in a believable way. The evil villain was played well by the actor and was memorable. The story moved at a good pace and made sense in the ‘universe’ the movie created. Some good performances by other actors also, the acting all around was better than expected. This is a movie I would consider buying and I don’t think that of many movies.

    “A Perfect Getaway” Movie Review

    “A Perfect Getaway” Plot Summary

Two pairs of lovers (Zahn & Jovovich, Olyphant & Sanchez) on a Hawaiian vacation discover that psychopaths are stalking and murdering tourists on the islands.

A very good movie that kept me guessing for quite a while

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and so did my wife. I felt the story line was interesting and the acting was good (especially Zahn and Olyphant).

I had rented this movie and there were two versions on the DVD (the theatrical release and the unrated version). I enjoyed this movie enough that I watched the theatrical release the first night and then the next night watched the unrated version. I was mainly looking to see if the movie held together after seeing it through once… and it did

Movies like this can fall in to two buckets it seems. One in which the good people win and one where the bad ones win. This has become more noticeable to me recently with movies such as ‘The Strangers’, ‘Funny Games’, and also ‘Them’. This movie does fall in to the first bucket I mentioned. I was glad it did. I enjoy this movie from start to finish

The scenery was great as well. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that likes suspense/thriller movies.
