“Shrek the Third” Movie Review

“Shrek 3″ Plot Summary

When his new father-in-law, King Harold falls ill, Shrek is looked at as the heir to the land of Far, Far Away. Not one to give up his beloved swamp, Shrek recruits his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots to install the rebellious Artie as the new king. Princess Fiona, however, rallies a band of royal girlfriends to fend off a coup d’etat by the jilted Prince Charming.

Funny With a Great Message

When Fiona’s father and King of Far Far Away passes away, the clumsy Shrek becomes the immediate successor of the throne. However, Shrek decides to find the legitimate heir Artie in a distant kingdom with his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots to be able return to his beloved house in the swamp with the pregnant Fiona. Meanwhile, the envious and ambitious Prince Charming joins the villains of the fairy tales plotting a coup d’etat to become the new king.’Shrek the Third’ is very funny, having a great message in the end and completely underrated in IMDb. There are many unfair reviews and I really do not understand what these users have seen to dislike in this animation. There are many new characters from the fairy tales, but all of them has space along the plot, in at least one scene, and I liked, for example, the Cyclops with his beautiful daughter or the lines of Captain Hook just to mention two of them. I saw a version dubbed in Portuguese and the dialogs are excellent. The soundtrack is a plus and I loved ‘Immigrant Song’ and ‘Baraccuda’ in the attack of the heroines. My vote is eight

“Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me” Plot Summary

Dr. Evil is back…and has invented a new time machine that allows him to go back to the 60’s and steal Austin Powers’s mojo, inadvertently leaving him “shagless”.

    HILARIOUS!

I think Mike Meyers is hilarious in practically anything, he is just so funny. That’s all there is to it, need I say more? You just cant help but laugh at the funny antics of Mini-me and Dr. Evil. They are without a doubt the best part of this movie, you can’t not think this movie is hilarious. Funny is funny, I don’t care how stupid it is. And funny is especially funny if it is done by Mike Meyers in a ridiculous movie about a spy from the seventies stuck in the nineties, who steals his own mojo from himself, planning to destroy himself, with the help of a cute little midget 1/8 his size. ‘Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me’ is the funniest film of the year, you shouldn’t miss it. I have one thing to say to anyone who wants to trash this movie, ‘Sht! Zipit!’.

An ogre, in order to regain his swamp, travels along with an annoying donkey in order to bring a princess to a scheming lord, wishing himself King. add synopsis

Wonderfully irreverent family film with lots of laughs

The filmmakers obviously have some irreverence regarding Disney, and it’s about time I say. Especially with the rather un-Disneylike behavior the studio has engaged in for the past dozen or so years. The anti Disney jokes are so much fun (our favorite is the ’small world’ parody!). I have to wonder what DULOC means! I have listened to the commentary on the DVD, done Google searches, looked through the trivia on IMDb, all to no avail. I wonder what the big secret is. Anyway, this is a family favorite of ours. The jokes may go over the heads of small children, but they will still enjoy the animation. The music is fantastic. My teenager even bought the soundtrack to it.

    “Shrek 2″ Movie Review

    “Shrek 2″ Plot Summary

Princess Fiona’s parents invite her and Shrek to dinner to celebrate her marriage. If only they knew the newlyweds were both ogres.

Just as good as the first

Shrek 2 is a very entertaining sequel and a good family film. This film follows Shrek and Fiona who had just came back from there honeymoon and Fiona’s parents, the King and Queen of Far Far Away (get the joke) invite them to visit the kingdom. Unfortunately they don’t know that Fiona was turned into a ogre, and not back into her human form. Fiona’s dad was shocked, wanting Fiona to marry Prince Charming (this was hinted at in the first film), and admits to have Shrek assassinated by Puss-in-Boots. Shrek then tries to make himself into the man Fiona wants and at the same time Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother plot to get Fiona to fall in love with Prince Charming

This film works on many levels, it has a decent story and makes fun and uses many aspects of famous fairy tales. The Fairy Godmother is the main villain in this film which is a good twist. The film also parodies many things that could appeal to adults, such as an Alien parody, and there are more general references to films like Lord of the Rings, Mission Impossible and Indiana Jones. There are also cultural references such as Starbucks and a parody of Hollywood. There is a good supporting cast to the film. I liked Antonio Banderas as Puss-in-Boots, Julie Andrews, John Cleese and Rupert Everett. I also thought that it was a very good move to cast Jennifer Saunders as the Fairy Godmother. In the British version we got Jonathan Ross and Kate Thornton in the film which I thought was pretty fun. The animation of the film is top-notch and is possibly the best around. It is the most realistic in style and some of the little details are really good, such as seeing the freckles on Fiona’s face. The also has fun little Easter Eggs and need to watch the film again to notice them, such as in the beginning of the film the Big Bad Wolf was reading a ‘Pork Illustrated’ magazine. I enjoyed the creation of Puss-in-Boots as a character and thought he was great. A little sidenote was that he looked liked my cat who was a young kitten at the time and thought it was a fun coincidence. My only problem of the film was the occasional fart joke, but it is aimed for children, so I can understand why they done it

Shrek 2 is a very good, but it was a shame that the third on was no where need as good.

“Austin Powers in Goldmember” Plot Summary

Upon learning that his father has been kidnapped, Austin Powers must travel to 1975 and defeat the aptly-named villain Goldmember – who is working with Dr. Evil. add synopsis

    Loved it.

I really really like this movie

    Slapstick at its best

It is my favorite of the series. It goes over many peoples head and they see it as dumb and corny and they don’t have reality of what the movie is doing

It is corny and dumb but with genius and Mike Meyers is a genius at comedy and in my opinion this movie is the pinnacle of that genius

All of his movies lead up to this, his last great movie. I loved it! This movie is all over the place. From a very good musical in the jail to peeing next to the statue

From the incredibly funny fight scene with MINI ME to the scene with Fuk Mi and Fuk yu

Very very funny! The Goldmember and Fat Bastard scenes are classics to watch for years to come

I stated in an earlier review that Step Brother with Ferrel was my second favorite comedy. but I would have to switch that with this one.

    “Wayne’s World” Plot Summary

Two slacker friends try to promote their public-access cable show. add synopsis

    Sure is unique

It’s not at all hard to see why this early nineties comedy quickly became a huge cult hit with teenagers across the globe. Director Penelope Spheeris’ off the wall approach coupled with the ridiculously silly script from Mike Myers (‘Wayne’), Bonnie and Terry Turner, really helps ‘Wayne’s World’ appeal to an audience fully prepared for cinema completely void of seriousness

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey are Wayne and Garth, two rockin’ dudes from Aurora, Illinois who have their own TV. show which they broadcast from Wayne’s basement. When ruthless entertainment executive Benjamin (Rob Lowe) sees the program, he signs the guys to a major network in the hope that he’ll be able to exploit them and make lots of money. Meanwhile Wayne has fallen for the lead singer of a local heavy metal band (she’s a Robo-babe). and Garth fantasises of one day getting up the nerve to talk to his dream woman, or perhaps even sing to her! Bursts of absolute hilarity (look for Wayne’s ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’) and segments of sheer stupidity leaves ‘Wayne’s World’ inconsistent, but there’s enough on going nutty humour to keep the viewer amused. Clever, tongue-in-cheek performances from the two leads and the supporting cast really help set the mood, while the whole movie’s ‘no set guidelines’ tack allows director Penelope Spheeris to do anything she pleases, and she does just that.’Laverne and Shirley’ get the royal treatment, as do many other telly and picture shows, and even Alice Cooper manages to send himself up. For something out of the ordinary, ‘Wayne’s World’ sure is unique

“The Cat in the Hat” Plot Summary

Sally and Conrad are two bored kids whose life is turned up-side-down when a talking cat comes to visit them.

    A very colorful movie.

The cat in the hat has a very clear and colorful picture. When it first came out in cinemas my friends were saying it is brilliant and when I watched it, I too thought it was fantastic. My nephews really love the film and are always asking if they can borrow the film. Mike Myers, Alec Baldwin, Kelly Preston, Dakota Fanning, Spencer Breslin, Amy Hill and everyone else were fantastic. You can only read books or just look at the pictures that are not real but you can actually see the film that makes it much more real. It is very funny and has a good storyline. I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was great

I have seen the film about 10 times and I still have not got bored of it.
