“Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi” Movie Review
“Return Of The Jedi” Plot Summary
After rescuing Han Solo from the palace of Jabba the Hutt, the Rebels attempt to destroy the Second Death Star, while Luke Skywalker tries to bring his father back to the Light Side of the Force.
Greatest Cinematic Film Of All Time
Despite the feelings of most ‘Star Wars’ fans, in my opinion ‘Return Of The Jedi’ is the greatest cinematic film ever created. Ever since the first time I saw it, it’s depth, intensity, special effects, and moving story have overwhelmed me. The film was so well put together that it has been able to stand the test of time over the last 20 years. Filled with powerful action, as the climax of the original trilogy, George Lucas gives us a rousing finish of the ‘Star Wars’ saga in ‘Jedi’.Film Summary (Contains Spoilers For Those Who Have Not Seen It)After ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ left us hanging for 3 long years we finally find the end of the story in ‘Return Of The Jedi’. Darth Vader, in emotional turmoil makes a surprise visit to a new uncompleted Death Star to oversee it’s construction. The Emperor is first seen in this film as he has the ultimate plan to destroy the Rebel Alliance and bring young Luke Skywalker to the Dark Side. Luke, Lando, Leia, Chewie, and the droids all travel to Tatooine to rescue the frozen Han Solo from the crime Lord; Jabba The Hutt. After Han has been rescued, and Jabba defeated, Luke returns to Dagobah to find a dying Yoda where he learns the awful truth; Darth Vader is in fact his father. The rebel heroes regroup with the Rebel Fleet. Now joined by other species and races including the Mon Calamari the Rebels must make a all-or-nothing plan of attack to destroy the Death Star before it is completed. While Lando heads the space attack in the Millennium Falcon, the Rebel heroes must disable the Death Star’s shield generator on the Forest Moon Of Endor. It is here that the Rebels happen upon the furry, but mighty Ewoks. During the the two part intense battle, a third battle must take place as Luke willingly delivers himself to Vader in an attempt to convince him to leave the Dark Side. In emotionally charged sequences Luke must face his father as the Emperor lures out his dark emotions. As young Skywalker is about to face his death at the hands of Palpatine, Vader turns on his wicked master to save his son’s life. Filled with a deep timeless story of good vs. evil, ‘Return Of The Jedi’ is a spectacular, emotionally charged film that redeems the good in all of us.

“Constantine” Movie Review
“Constantine” Plot Summary
Based on the DC/Vertigo comic book Hellblazer and written by Kevin Brodbin, Mark Bomback and Frank Capello, Constantine tells the story of irreverent supernatural detective John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), who has literally been to hell and back.
Excellent fantasy/horror movie
I’ve seen Constantine three times and I enjoy it more each time I watch it! It is truly well-done and extremely entertaining, and I can guarantee that if you like horror, suspense and/or fantasy you will love this movie! Keanu Reeves plays a very cool Constantine, who is a modern-day exorcist but most certainly not to be confused with a priest, as he has his issues and a burden of sins from his past that he carries with him. Constantine is a very realistic and human hero who is devoid of superpowers but has all the cool gadgets and the kick-ass attitude needed to survive in a world slowly being invaded by demons and scheming angels. He meets Angela (Rachel Wiesz) after she loses her sister, Isabel to the forces of evil. She comes to Constantine in search of an answer on where Isabel has ended up following her apparent suicide. Constantine journeys to other realms/dimensions in an attempt to get those answers, even paying a couple of visits to hell. Needless to say, with such a plot the special effects, acting, sets, script and even wardrobe have to be carefully conceived and executed to make it believable, and they are… in spades
Constantine achieves what all great movies always do: it takes you into another world that makes you forget everything about your own world the whole time you are watching it. And really, in the end, isn’t that what great cinema is all about?

“Journey to the Center of the Earth” Plot Summary
On a quest to find out what happened to his missing brother, a scientist, his nephew and their mountain guide discover a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth.
Pretty good stuff
Don’t go and see ‘Journey’ if you’re expecting either a solid interpretation of the Jules Verne novel, or a thrilling summer blockbuster. ‘Journey’ is light hearted fun, but as a piece of light hearted fun, it excels
The story centres (no pun intended) around publicly abhorred professor Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) whose lab in New York faces closure just as things are getting exciting (cough cough) with his research into volcanic something or other, a project derived from his obsession with the unexplained disappearance of his late brother. To further complicate things Trevor gets landed with his smart alec techy nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and thus premieres a generic ‘odd couple’ relationship as the stuffy academic trades words and yo-yos with his post-mod companion
Anyway, as soon as this gets underway, Trevor finds an excuse to jet off to Iceland where for one reason or another he descends two hundred feet into a volcano and after one big 3D disaster leads to another, he finds himself (big shock) at the centre of the earth, wherein he, Sean and annoying Icelandic guide Hannah (some unknown Icelandic actress making her unconvincing debut) encounter all manner of 3D perils and wonders including carnivorous plants, troublesome fish, massive great geyser thingies, and the impending doom threatened by an up and coming volcanic thermal heating up whereby everything gets roasted…oh, and a dinosaur…he’s cool :D.The good stuff? The storyline is a lot more cut to the chase than I’ve made it sound, the 3D effects are cracking, and despite being landed with the name ‘Trevor’, Brendan Fraser makes for a great lead. I’ve always been a casual fan of his since seeing the Mummy as a child, and whilst this role isn’t much of a challenge for the erstwhile Fraser, he commands the screen when he’s present and is thoroughly entertaining throughout. The kid who plays Sean is decent support as well. There are some truly great visuals, and although the mine cart chase disappoints, the raft ride does not; it’s a visual feast and a great action piece that would be perfect if not for the ‘we’re on a fishing trip’ line thrown in by Hutcherson
The bad stuff? Hannah Asgeirsson is cringeworthy as the love interest/ guide figure, a character it is impossible to like or even find interesting. The storyline is pretty predictable, and in terms of story and set pieces, ‘Journey’ doesn’t really offer anything that hasn’t been done before, and often better. A couple of the jokes fall flat, and the 3D glasses are pretty annoying, although probably not nearly as bad as the film would be in 2D; I can only assume it loses much of its merit
So ‘Journey’ is never going to compete with previous genre flicks such as Jurassic Park, but it never really sets out to, which is the salvation of the film; everything is done with a casual wink to the audience; we’re all in on the joke that the film is a bit naff. Whilst you’re in the cinema it’s great fun, but on reflection ‘Journey’ is little more than a memory jog of better films. Go for the 3D cinema experience, but don’t bother with the DVD, because the more you watch this, it’s probably going to become more and more tired
Ultimately, Journey to the centre of the earth is a solid family film that thankfully never tries to be anything more. Good summer fun, and the finest effects you’ll see this summer.

“Friday the 13th” Movie Review
“Friday the 13th” Plot Summary
A group of young adults discover a boarded up Camp Crystal Lake, where they soon encounter Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.
Fun if you’re of GWB intelligence
History (that is, movie history) tends to pre-colour one’s thinking and so the original Friday the 13th movies must precondition viewers for what’s to come in this, the latest offering for those with a propensity for bizarre murder stories
However, don’t today’s filmgoers deserve SOME credit for intelligence? Like, don’t we expect supposedly young adults with (supposedly) some education to behave a bit logically? Given that there’s a killer running amok in the neighborhood, wouldn’t it be sensible to plan some sort of strategy to beat him? But no. Our protagonists split up and race around the woods with the women screaming a lot of the time and the guys displaying gross incompetence. Interesting too that those ear-drum shattering screams, which, on an otherwise peaceful country night, would be easily heard at least two miles away, don’t seem to be heard by anyone when it’s most crucial. Ho Hum!Then, when one of the group eventually puts in an emergency call to the police telling them that there’s a mass killer slaying everyone in sight, the cops send ONE man! This is, in actual fact, in direct contrast to all those other American movies where the police send about two hundred armed swat-team members, several helicopters and umpteen squad cars all with sirens screaming to rescue a cat up a tree! Oh no! Not here! ONE cop – and a not too bright one at that! Then, as the climax approaches, with one of the protagonists at last armed with a gun, instead of using common sense and waiting for the killer to come into the line of fire and letting him have it with a single shot, our hero empties the magazine on closed doors and shadows and then goes racing out to his death at the hands of a far more calculating creature than himself or his companions
Nevertheless, if you like suspense with a bit of sexy action (not to mention some superb female bodies!!!) I guess you might get a little pleasure from the latest (but obviously not the final) Crystal Lake saga!

“Deep Impact” Movie Review
“Deep Impact” Plot Summary
Unless a comet can be destroyed before colliding with Earth, only those allowed into shelters will survive. Which people will survive?
Much more better than Armageddon
I really loved this movie, I have seen it over ten times, since the first time I saw it on the cinemas, to each time I see it on television I must admit I’m really crazy about this film, Well if you want my comparison between this two films, the only point in which I find Armageddon better than this one is in the action scenes, but i find better Deep Impact in casting, writing, drama, character development, locations, story, drama, destruction scene (isn’t the scene of the giant wave going over New York City really memorable and a great movie moment?). I will tell you my favourite scenes and character, which must be the president, he really makes you believe that if the world was about to come to an end the president would be exactly like that. Instead of the Armageddon’s ’so the world is about to end, who cares?’ attitude of the people. Well call this commentary just another ‘Armageddon vs. Deep Impact’ comparison, but I really wanted to share this thoughts with all of you
