“Mr. Brooks” Movie Review

“Mr. Brooks” Plot Summary

A psychological thriller about a man who is sometimes controlled by his murder-and-mayhem-loving alter ego.

Pleasantly Surprised

I didn’t expect much considering all the bad reviews (not that those matter) but actually found this to be quite entertaining for the most part. It really plays with your mind, an original psychological thriller compared to most others out there today. Kevin Costner, in an interesting new turn for him, plays Mr. Brooks, a self-made multi-millionaire with a beautiful house and a loving wife and daughter. His business colleagues have nothing but respect for him. But he has a dark secret… he’s addicted to killing people and has been for years. He fights his addiction by attending AA meetings at church and just calling himself ‘an addict.’ William Hurt plays ‘Marshall,’ his twisted inner-voice who eggs him on. I found Costner and especially Hurt to be quite a hoot in a very darkly comic sort of way, they actually make quite a duo. The ending could have been worked with better, but overall this was well-done and a must-see for any fans of Costner or Hurt, or any fans of thrillers that actually show a good sense of humor.

“Extract” Movie Review

“Extract” Plot Summary

Joel, the owner of an Extract plant, tries to contend with myriad personal and professional problems, such as his potentially unfaithful wife and employees who want to take advantage of him.

One of the best comedies in a long time

I just got back from seeing this movie, and all I can say is two thumbs up. I left fully satisfied, money well spent on the price of a movie ticket. Lately the last few movies I saw were a bore including ‘The Goods’ staring Jeremy Piven. It seems now and days the directors are exaggerating comedic scenes to make people laugh if they can even accomplish that. They’ll repeat the same scenes over again because they have no other material to go off of. With Mike Judge’s new movie he does the complete opposite. He takes everyday scenarios of what most normal people go through and puts it in his movies. The viewers can relate to these and that’s what makes it hilarious. I can’t remember the last time I cried so hard from laughing. The actors picked for this movie did an outstanding job in their roles and came through to the end. Ben Affleck was the most surprising. Very pleased with his role, never thought of him as being a comedic actor but by far he did the best job. I definitely recommend this movie to any one in for a good laugh.

    “The Transporter” Plot Summary

This film is about a man (Statham) whose job is to deliver packages without asking any questions. Complications arise when he breaks those rules. add synopsis

    Awesome, ignore the bad reviews.

I can’t understand why so much people hate this movie or the Transporter films, this movie is great ! Yes it often has it’s ‘Impossible scenes’ but what movie hasn’t ? Look to Die Hard, look to f(u)cking Indiana Jones look to Freakin’ James Bond… The action is fast it has good soundtracks (!) so if you get the chance to buy/rent this movie Do It

I absolutely love the role of the Transporter he does it superbly. If you have the chance look the other ones too… they’re equally good

For me this movie deserves at least an 8/10. Hence I’m giving it a 10 :)

    “Fast & Furious” Movie Review

“The Fast and the Furious 4″ Plot Summary

Brian O’Conner, now working for the FBI in LA, teams up with Dominic Toretto to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.

    Hilarious

I don’t think this movie is meant to be a comedy, but nearly every scene and every line of dialogue is laughable. I can’t even describe half of the things that made this movie pathetic, since I don’t have the time or desire to write thirty pages. Here are some of the most egregiously bad aspects of Fast and Furious:The Plot: There is a mastermind drug lord who has managed to elude the FBI for years, and he wants to move a bunch of drugs across the border. So instead of just splitting the packages into a few inconspicuous cars and bribing a couple of border officials, or simply flying them across the border in a private helicopter (keep in mind this guy has hundreds of millions of dollars at his disposal), he decides the best way to cross the border undetected is to get a few neon-green and metallic-purple race cars and drive in a pack through the salt plains and then through a mine at 150 mph (yes, a mine, despite the fact that each car rides is designed for street racing and rides about two inches off the ground).

Then when the drivers get to the location, he tries to kill all of them for no reason. I guess the audience is meant to assume he does this so that he doesn’t have to pay them, but it’s like six drivers, and the packages are worth something around 160 million dollars, so paying the drivers for one night’s work would cost practically nothing. I guess the director felt it was necessary to really pound it into the viewer’s head that he is a bad guy, so that there wouldn’t be any confusion as to who you’re supposed to root for. Also, you find out that he’s done this before, yet he somehow managed to prevent word from spreading that not a single driver he’s ever hired has returned from the job (you’d think that in a relatively close-knit community such as the ‘illegal street racing circuit’ something like this would get around). This is not to mention the fact that Paul Walker is still able to blend into these crime circles despite the fact that dozens of people have found out he was a cop in the last two films. Dialogue: I’m just going to give two awesome examples here:1) Paul Walker: I guess this is where my jurisdiction ends Vin Diesel: And this is where mine begins.2) Girl: Are you one of those boys who prefers cars to women? Vin Diesel: I appreciate a good body regardless of the make. ……… Girl: What do you look for in a woman? Vin Diesel: It starts with the eyes. She has to have those kind of eyes that can see through all the bullshit, to the good inside

Fast and Furious perpetually insults the viewer’s intelligence. Nearly nothing that happens in the movie is even remotely plausible. It could be mistaken for a very wry parody of stupid racing movies, but sadly, it just is one.

“The Fast and the Furious” Plot Summary

An undercover cop infiltrates an underworld subculture of Los Angeles street racers looking to bust a hijacking ring, and soon begins to question his loyalties when his new street racing friends become the prime suspects. add synopsis

Comes at you Fast AND Furious

The Fast and the Furious comes at you like it says. It’s not a long movie and really never slows down much at all! Those looking for a movie delving into a complex plot with in depth charachters need not watch it. The movie is as the preview shows, a lot of great car chase scenes held together by a loose form of a plot. It does what Gone in 60 Seconds only wishes it could do. In gone in 60 you have 2 scenes with cars driving fast at all. Here you have at least 6 or 7 distinctly different and memorable scenes. Although acting ability and some of the lines lack severely, this can be forgiven and is made up by the cars. This movie is perfect for anyone into speed and tuned import sports cars for the most part(yes, even the occasional despicable economy car made to ‘perform’ is present)I saw the previews knowing this was going to be basically an adrenaline rush of a movie, and I gave it a 10 because that’s what it delivered.

    “Rambo” Movie Review

    “Rambo 4″ Plot Summary

In Thailand, John Rambo joins a group of mercenaries to venture into war-torn Burma, and rescue a group of Christian aid workers who were kidnapped by the ruthless local infantry unit. add synopsis

Excellent, the best Rambo film in the series

Rated R for strong graphic bloody violence, sexual assaults, grisly images and language.

Rambo 4(or Rambo) is in my opinion, the greatest Rambo film in the series and one of the greatest action movies of all time

The film definitely exceeded my expectations

It brings back old memories of Rambo 2 and 3…but with 10x more violence and gore! The storyline is actually pretty good for an action film, better than the story lines in Rambo 2 and 3, but the action is amazing! The film is very very violent and if you have a weak stomach, you do not want to watch this film! There’s blood and decapitation everywhere in this film. The acting is good from the entire cast…even Stallone in my opinion but there were times when you could hardly hear him

The plot of the film involves a bunch of missionaries wanting to go to Burma

Rambo advises them not to, but they insist and he takes them there

A man then comes to him telling him they have not returned

This is because they were captured by the Burmese soldiers

Stallone does a good job in making us really hate the Burmese soldiers

They brutally beat, torture and murder people, rape women etc

The leader is even a pedophile! So now Rambo and some mercenaries go to escape with the missionaries

The movie really makes you root for Rambo and the mercenaries while they are fighting, just like when watching the other Rambo films

If you enjoyed the other Rambo films, this is definitely a must

If you are an action film fan, this is definitely a must! There have been a lot of PG-13 sequels to R-rated franchises such as Alien,Predator(Alien vs Predator) and Die Hard(Live Free Or Die Hard which was still pretty good).

Rambo is very R-rated and very pleasing for Rambo fans!
