“Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron” Movie Review

“Spirit” Plot Summary

As a wild stallion travels across the frontiers of the Old West, he befriends a young human and finds true love with a mare.

Great.

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an overall wonderful movie. The blending of animation types is unique, the storyline is amazing, and the music is wonderful

The drawn animation is a special thing about many animations. How they expressed the characters, especially the horses, through their animation are spectacular especially. While the way horses communicate through body language is easy to understand, many young children and people who haven’t studied horses might not understand. Without words, I would imagine it would have to be challenging to express them through the features. Because of this, I understand the ‘eyebrow’ they added to the horses (while real horses don’t have those thick lines). One of the few things I noticed about horse habits that might have been portrayed strangely is that Spirit lead his mother’s herd. In wild horse herds, the lead stallion usually chases the young colts out

Also, while some people might think portraying the white army officers as the ‘bad guys’ is stereotyping, think of all the movies in which the Native Americans have been portrayed as that. Sometimes back then; they did treat mustangs very poorly. For example, in real history, the Appaloosa breed was almost wiped out due to the Army officers. Imagine what would have happened to one of the worlds best loved riding breeds if the Native Americans had not saved them

I think it’s amazing how the realism wasn’t subtracted by making the horses talk to each other. Spirit’s feelings were expressed by a little bit of narration, but mostly through the music (by Bryan Adams). The songs express the story really well, and Hans Zimmer and Bryan Adams did a great job telling the story through melodies and lyrics

The emotion I got when watching the movie, whether the first time or the twentieth (yes, I’ve watched it that much), you wouldn’t believe. Some of the scenes take your breath away, while others seem to force tears into your eyes. The opening sequence, showing Spirit’s homeland, puts you right into the spectacular action right away

I don’t understand at all why some people are so hateful of this brilliant movie. Overall, I rate it a 10/10 – a must watch.

    “Starship Troopers” Plot Summary

Humans of a fascistic, militaristic future do battle with giant alien bugs in a fight for survival.

    Great

Starship Troopers is a truly excellent film based on dark humour and great amounts of action and violence

Its effects were great for its time and great amount of tought were put into making this movie

Its unique story line is what separates this from the rest of your typical sci-fi films

Its use of advanced weaponry and other military style objects is of excellent quality. Although some parts of it were very unrealistic, it just goes to show how far man can go and the achievements it would succeed in technology

Also its comedy side of it would be more inclined to go towards the male counterpart as it can be a dark sense of humour

    “Heat” Plot Summary

A Los Angeles crime saga, “Heat” focuses on the lives of two men on opposite sides of the law – one a detective; the other a thief.

One Of The Best Crime Films Ever

I really believe this is one the great crime movies of all time. It has some drawbacks that wouldn’t make me recommend this for family viewing – tons of f- words by Al Pacino and a few bloody scenes, but as far as a fascinating crime story: wow! This movie made modern-day history because it was the first time two of the great actors of this generation – Pacino and Robert De Niro – finally acted together in the same film. Those two didn’t disappoint, either. They were great to watch and one of the huge highlights of the film, to me, was when they faced each other in a simple conversation over a cup of coffee. That conversation has always fascinated me, no matter how many times I’ve heard it. It was such a ‘landmark’ scene that It’s even the subject of a short documentary on the special-edition DVD.As with the conversation scene, the shootout segment in the streets of Los Angeles still astounds me no matter how many times I see it. The other action scenes are intense and memorable, too, and the cast in here is deep. This isn’t just Pacino and De Niro. It’s Val Kilmer, Ashley Judd, Jon Voight, Diana Venora, Natlie Portman, Tom Sizemore, Amy Brenamann, Wes Studi, Ted Levine, Mykelti Williamson, on and on. Put that fabulous cast under Michael Mann, one of the best directors in business, add a great soundtrack and interesting camera-work and you have a great film. At three hours long, it never bores one and at same time, doesn’t overdo the action, either. I read one critic criticize this film because of the time taken to examine the personal lives of the main characters, but you can’t have three hours of nothing but action. The only scene I felt went on a bit too long was the ending chase at the airport, but that’s nitpicking considering the film as a whole

This is just one of those movies where a great cast and director live up to their billing.

    “Fast & Furious” Movie Review

“The Fast and the Furious 4″ Plot Summary

Brian O’Conner, now working for the FBI in LA, teams up with Dominic Toretto to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.

    Hilarious

I don’t think this movie is meant to be a comedy, but nearly every scene and every line of dialogue is laughable. I can’t even describe half of the things that made this movie pathetic, since I don’t have the time or desire to write thirty pages. Here are some of the most egregiously bad aspects of Fast and Furious:The Plot: There is a mastermind drug lord who has managed to elude the FBI for years, and he wants to move a bunch of drugs across the border. So instead of just splitting the packages into a few inconspicuous cars and bribing a couple of border officials, or simply flying them across the border in a private helicopter (keep in mind this guy has hundreds of millions of dollars at his disposal), he decides the best way to cross the border undetected is to get a few neon-green and metallic-purple race cars and drive in a pack through the salt plains and then through a mine at 150 mph (yes, a mine, despite the fact that each car rides is designed for street racing and rides about two inches off the ground).

Then when the drivers get to the location, he tries to kill all of them for no reason. I guess the audience is meant to assume he does this so that he doesn’t have to pay them, but it’s like six drivers, and the packages are worth something around 160 million dollars, so paying the drivers for one night’s work would cost practically nothing. I guess the director felt it was necessary to really pound it into the viewer’s head that he is a bad guy, so that there wouldn’t be any confusion as to who you’re supposed to root for. Also, you find out that he’s done this before, yet he somehow managed to prevent word from spreading that not a single driver he’s ever hired has returned from the job (you’d think that in a relatively close-knit community such as the ‘illegal street racing circuit’ something like this would get around). This is not to mention the fact that Paul Walker is still able to blend into these crime circles despite the fact that dozens of people have found out he was a cop in the last two films. Dialogue: I’m just going to give two awesome examples here:1) Paul Walker: I guess this is where my jurisdiction ends Vin Diesel: And this is where mine begins.2) Girl: Are you one of those boys who prefers cars to women? Vin Diesel: I appreciate a good body regardless of the make. ……… Girl: What do you look for in a woman? Vin Diesel: It starts with the eyes. She has to have those kind of eyes that can see through all the bullshit, to the good inside

Fast and Furious perpetually insults the viewer’s intelligence. Nearly nothing that happens in the movie is even remotely plausible. It could be mistaken for a very wry parody of stupid racing movies, but sadly, it just is one.

    “Bee Movie” Movie Review

    “Bee Movie” Plot Summary

Barry B. Benson, a bee who has just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry’s life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey, and subsequently decides to sue us.

Best 3d Movie to Hit Theaters

I’ve seen many 3d movies by Pixar and Dreamworks, but I think that this movie tops anything I have ever seen by them. They bring the humor of children and adults together to create this hilarious story

Not everybody eats honey, but a lot of humans eat honey. You may not even know it. Well, Barry has just found out that, and he and his new human friend decides to sue Humans. This causes a lot of trouble with flowers and many flowers die. This is now Barry’s fault and now he is going to fix it all once and for all

This movie is clever. It’s hard to believe that no one has come up with a movie idea as crazy as this. I do recommend this movie for all of you Pixar and DreamWorks fans. This movie is not only for children, so don’t be fooled.

    “Flubber” Plot Summary

An absent-minded professor discovers “flubber,” a rubber-like super-bouncy substance. add synopsis

    Good update!!!!!

Time for some wacky, funny, scientific fun with Robin Williams as he takes the stage as the ‘Absent-Minded Professor’ in Disney’s 1997 remake of that movie, known simply as ‘Flubber!!!!!’He has a robot assistant, Weebo, and he was late (again) for his wedding, all because he was making ‘flubber,’ flying rubber as it was known. He used the flubber to try to explain everything about his no-show, from falling off his classroom window (which didn’t work), to a high-flying basketball game!!!!!’Flubber’ is one of those films that is better than the original. Sure, both are excellent pieces of ‘genius,’ but this one blows the competition away. Which is why I give it 10 stars!!!!!10/10

Comes at you Fast AND Furious

The Fast and the Furious comes at you like it says. It’s not a long movie and really never slows down much at all! Those looking for a movie delving into a complex plot with in depth charachters need not watch it. The movie is as the preview shows, a lot of great car chase scenes held together by a loose form of a plot. It does what Gone in 60 Seconds only wishes it could do. In gone in 60 you have 2 scenes with cars driving fast at all. Here you have at least 6 or 7 distinctly different and memorable scenes. Although acting ability and some of the lines lack severely, this can be forgiven and is made up by the cars. This movie is perfect for anyone into speed and tuned import sports cars for the most part(yes, even the occasional despicable economy car made to ‘perform’ is present)I saw the previews knowing this was going to be basically an adrenaline rush of a movie, and I gave it a 10 because that’s what it delivered.
