“Village” Movie Review
“Village” Plot Summary
The population of a small, isolated countryside village believe that their alliance with the mysterious creatures that inhabit the forest around them is coming to an end.
Amazing movie, don’t listen to critics
The Village is an excellent movie in all respects, possibly not Shyamalans best, but definitely up there. I really can’t imagine why reviewers gave it low scores, I don’t know anyone personally that dislikes the movie at all.
The Village centers around a quaint 19th century village in the middle of nowhere. The inhabitants of the village are relatively happy, despite the constant fear of the horrible creatures in the woods surrounding the village.
The characters are extremely believable and beautifully crafted. Granted, there is some broken dialogue, and it makes one cringe at one point or another, but it is not common and does not ruin the characterization. Joaquin Phoenix is excellent as usual, as is Bryce Dallas Howard, a new face in the cast of Oscar winning actors.
The plot is a typical Shyamalan twist fest with a little romance added for good measure. This does not take away from the atmosphere at all, however, and is done very well. There are a couple parts that are quite chilling, but not SCARY per se. I definitely felt a tingle run down my spine a few times. The ending, if it hasn’t already been ruined for you or you don’t figure it out half way through the movie, will leave you in shock.
Overall, this is an amazing movie, I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone; you will not be disappointed.

Best of the sequels!
After the events of ‘Superman: The Movie’, the man of steel (Christopher Reeves)just saved Lois (Margot Kidder)from terrorists in Paris as he throws out their thermonuclear device that accidentally breaks the three evil Kryptonian criminals named Zod, Ursa and Non (Terrence Stamp, Sarah Douglas and Jack O’Holloren) out of their space prison to enslave the Earth with the help of Lex Luthor (Gene Hackman) as only Superman must stop them. But unfortunately for Clark Kent, he wants to give up his super powers so he can be with Lois for she has found out what Clark’s secret really is and is now mortal with no power. However, the country is in chaos especially the world which is in mortal danger from the fearsome four but can Clark change back to Superman? Excellent second part of the franchise and proves a second part of a franchise can work like ‘The Godfather 2′, ‘Evil Dead 2′, ‘Dawn of the Dead (1978)’, ‘Empire Strikes Back’, ‘Spider-Man 2′, ‘X2′, etc. The acting is top notch, the villains are believable especially the sexy Sarah Douglas as Ursa! Good special effects and E.G Marshall does an appearance as the President
This sequel has everything to please fans of the first movie especially more action then ever! a highly recommended sequel and can’t wait for the Richard Donner director’s cut version coming out this fall.

“Proof of Life” Plot Summary
Alice hires a professional negotiator to obtain the release of her engineer husband, who has been kidnapped by anti-government guerrillas in South America. add synopsis
A good and very entertaining thriller with Russell Crowe
While building a dam in ‘Tecala’, a country situated in the Andes, the chief America engineer ‘Peter Bowman’ (David Morse), is captured by anti-government forces during a raid in the capital. When the rebels discover their identity require $3 million to return safe and sound. However, the company of ‘Peter’, based in Houston, is on the brink of bankruptcy and has canceled the insurance policy against kidnappings, so it cannot provide the money for their rescue. Abandoned by the company, ‘Alice’ (Meg Ryan), the wife of ‘Peter’, must cope with the situation by your account. She hires the services of the negotiator of hostages professional ‘Terry Thorne’ (Russell Crowe), a veteran of SAS, which in recent years has dealt with numerous kidnappings.’Proof of Life’ is a film little considered due to high expectations for its attractiveness argument and that is the first film of Russell Crowe after the great success throughout the world with ‘Gladiator.’ But its director Taylor Hackford has not sought a film committed and complaint, only has sought to expose through a current problem, a simple thriller and fairly, conventional with good scenes of action. Its objective is achieved by far, but it is not at all what has been expected of this film
In terms of its scenes of action, they are very successful and generous, with some contribution of tension well managed. The film is conventional within this genre of films. It has not nothing to do not have seen before, but it knows expose very well the action, although the fabric loving can be considered very secondary fulfills its mission,

“A League of Their Own” Movie Review
“A League of Their Own” Plot Summary
Two sisters join the first female professional baseball league and struggle to help it succeed amidst their own growing rivalry.
I Loved It!
I saw this movie long time ago and I still watch this movie. ‘A League of Their Own’ is absolutely hilarious and also has some drama. I think this movie owes a big one to the actors who brought so much fun. Geena Davis plays Dottie Hinson, a loving sister who has some troubles with her younger sister, Kit, and struggles on making decisions of wether she should stay in baseball team (Rockford Peaches) or go back to her home with her husband who just came back from World War II with broken arm(or was it a leg?). It surprised me when I found out that Geena was inches taller than most of the women in the movie. She showed off many fascinating stunts, such as catching a flying baseball with one hand and sliding like a ballerina when catching the foul ball. She was great
Tom Hanks was hilarious as Jimmy Dugan, an alcoholic hitter who became a baseball coach of Rockford Peaches. Jim hates that job, but as the time goes by, he realizes that the girls are very good and he gets pretty enthusiastic about the game and all. I love the part when he gets frustrated and shouts, ‘There’s no crying in baseball!’ and gets on a fight with the judge. Jimmy Dugan is probably one of Tom’s best characters so far
Another great performance by Lori Petty, who played Geena Davis’ sister, Kit. Kit is a very good player, but she gets jealous of Dottie and eventually joins another team called Racines. Somehow, I loved her performance
Then there are other great actings by Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell. They are somewhat nasty girls in the team who happen to be two close best friends. They bring so much joy to this movie and I loved the dancing scene at the bar. Madonna plays her part really well and Rosie is just great as always
Megan Cavannagh was funny also. She played Marla Hooch, who was obviously one of the best players in the team, but unfortunately her looks did matter when she was joining the team. Even though she might not be a best singer (scene at the bar was funny!), she met a great man and got married. Ann Cusack, who played Shirley Baker was pretty forgettable, but she played the sweetest role. Other roles like a player who is a mother of a naughty son (can’t remember her name, though) was also sweet, and the player who lost her husband made me cry. A pretty blonde player who used to be Miss Georgia was good also. Jon Lovitz plays a scout and gives the hilarious lines and I wish he had played more. And don’t miss Tea Leoni as the Racine player! She appears in some scenes, so keep your eyes open. And the older version of the characters looked so much like the younger versions. Especially the Old Dottie Hinson
So if you are depressed and want to watch a funny, witty movie and just have some fun – go and rent this movie. I would give 3 1/2 out of 5 (probably not a breath-taking film, but very entertaining).

“Resident Evil” Movie Review
“Resident Evil” Plot Summary
A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.
One of my most favourite films
I am a huge fan of the video game series; I’ve played & completed almost every Resident Evil game there is. When the film was announced I thought it was going to be rubbish because mostly films that are based on games are completely crap especially the ones made by Uwe Boll, but I still went to see it the first day when it came out in the UK and it was sooooo amazing. I was speechless after I seen the film, the story is truly original and one of the best thing about it is that the first 10 minutes was slow & peaceful but then it went really fast & relentless just like a roller-coaster going up slowly & zoomed down. Paul W. S. Anderson has proved that he is terrific writer & director because it is extremely difficult to create a story for a film that is based on a video game. Milla Jovovich was undoubtedly the best and I loved her red dress to bits, it definitely did suit her. Watching the film gives you a deep insight of the game e.g
When they had about 3 hours limited time to complete their mission
Every time they enter a new place it had to be checked and they had to make sure it’s safe just like in every game
If they where trapped they had to find another way out
In the end Alice & Matt got out without killing all the zombies because Resident Evil is rather a puzzle game and killing is not necessary
The combination of action, horror & thriller is superb; they are my entire favourite genre. It had a lot of style and the use of advanced modern technology that is mostly I look for in a film, the Licker in the end was the icing on the cake. This is the only movie that I liked with zombies in it because most of them are stupid & boring especially House of the Dead, the zombies pop out of nowhere and attack people. In Resident Evil the creation of zombies was very sensible, the staff of the underground laboratory were infected by the T-Virus released into the air vent, after getting killed by the Red Queen to avoid any outside interference their dead bodies were reanimated. It is mentioned very clearly that why they ‘need to feed’, nothing like that has ever been in any film which makes the story original. Dialogues are also good my most favourite quote is ‘You’re all going to die down here’ from the Red Queen, she is one of the best characters along with Alice, Matt & Rain. Background music score is the best music possibly for any film I have ever heard it has heavy metal guitar for the fight scenes and very soft, eerie & sensational for the main title. I have the soundtrack CD and I bought it just for the background score without caring that the other tracks might be good or not but it did turn out to good. There is nothing more I can ask for in a film that makes it one of my all time favourite movies and there is never going to be another film based on a video game like this!

“Conspiracy Theory” Plot Summary
Jerry Fletcher is a man who sees conspiracies everywhere. But if you keep doing that long enough, sooner or later you’re going to get one right… add synopsis
breathtaking film, outstanding performances you only wish it won’t happen to you.
We have all thought that certain incidents that we can’t explain or the explanation we were given was inadequate, could be because of a greater secret plan or conspiracy, i.e Elvis death, Princess Diana’s accident or JFK’s assasination are some of those mysteries. Well in this film Mel Gibson sees a conspiracy everywhere and tries to pursuade Julia Roberts, that certain ‘incidents’ weren’t quite as they seem. His whole behaviour though tends to be slightly psychotic and therefore no-one really pays attention to him. Except for Julia, who’s not quite sure what to believe. Until the day that Mel is abducted by Patrick Stewart and then gets away, only to show up in the justice department where Julia works, all covered in blood. When Julia hears his story she starts wondering for the first time ‘…what if….’ The story becomes faster and faster and now Julia is a target too
Outstanding performances, great script, brilliant direction
WELL DONE!

“Fame” Movie Review
“Fame” Plot Summary
An updated version of the 1980 musical, which centered on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts.
A surprise
I saw this film by myself in the cinema which gave me the chance to really focus on it-since I went to an early show. I thought the film would be a flop-I was kind of just killing time-in a nutshell. Surprisingly, I found the film very well done, hard and soft in all the right places-and bang on in its portrayals of the disciplinarians that exists in many American families. I was completely blown away by some of the music in the film. All in all I had a really good time and wasn’t expecting to at all
I saw the film Rent when that came out and I was expecting to have a better time than I did at it-I found Rent depressing whereas this one was really very life affirming in many ways
I guess you either get it or you don’t, just like you either appreciate the better dance and trance tunes or ya don’t.

Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.
One of Disney’s Best
‘The Jungle Book’ is definitely a classic. This was the last one to be produced under Walt Disney himself, and it kept the animation department alive after him. If you have noticed a certain ‘formula’ to modern Disney animated features, you’ll see that ‘The Jungle Book’ does not quite fit that formula. It’s something I appreciate about old Disney pictures, especially this one.

“The Darjeeling Limited” Movie Review
“The Darjeeling Limited” Plot Summary
Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other — to become brothers again like they used to be. Their “spiritual quest”, however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. add synopsis
An interesting journey
The Darjeeling Limited follows three brothers on a train journey across India. Suffice to say that in the course of their journey they will be faced with some complications. Things most definitely do not go according to the original plan. And it is in those times where the trip veers off its intended course that the movie is at its best. It’s not really a comedy but the film certainly has some nice comedic moments. There are some good dramatic moments but I don’t think one would label the film a great drama. It’s a journey which more often than not is certainly interesting but which in the end leaves you wanting a little more. For all the great moments, and there are more than a few, it doesn’t quite all add up to a spectacular finished product. It’s a good movie which you feel could have been great but fell a little shy of that standard
Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman play the three Whitman brothers who having not seen one another for a year are now embarking on what Francis, the oldest of the brothers, intends to be a spiritual journey. Francis is obsessive-compulsive to the extreme and his brothers often find him to be more than a touch annoying. But, as played wonderfully by Wilson, Francis comes across as rather endearing. Annoying yes but in an endearing way. The fact that he goes through the whole movie with his head and face heavily bandaged due to a motorcycle accident probably doesn’t hurt in making Francis a sympathetic figure. Brody’s Peter and Schwartzman’s Jack do not immediately appear to have as many obvious quirks as Francis, seeming to be much more ‘normal’. But we will see that Peter and Jack certainly have their own issues to deal with as well. And while if you had to choose one Wilson would be the star of the show both Brody and Schwartzman do excellent work as well
When the journey inevitably veers from its spiritual course is when the movie shines. Seeing the way these three very unique individuals react to one another in trying circumstances is a treat. Some of these moments are wonderfully comedic while other moments are appropriately solemn and serious. This is a train ride full of surprises which allow the brothers to learn a great deal about themselves and in the end maybe about each other. The film does wander at times. For all the good moments there are other times where the film struggles to maintain momentum. And really there isn’t much of a plot to speak of. But while it may be a relatively simple story it is generally an enjoyable one. It must be said that director Wes Anderson has crafted a film which certainly looks amazing. Whether it be the wonderful Indian exteriors or the brilliantly vibrant interiors of the train itself the film always looks terrific. And the three lead actors do the visuals justice, giving excellent performances in bringing this charming story to life. It’s not a perfect film by any means. It’s a movie you’ll embrace more for its moments than for the final product as a whole. There is the nagging sense that it didn’t quite all come together. But all in all the movie works. You could do a lot worse than to take a ride on The Darjeeling Limited.

“Star Trek VIII: First Contact” Plot Summary
Capt. Picard and his crew pursue the Borg back in time to stop them from preventing Earth from initiating first contact with alien life. add synopsis
Great Movie, Read Brief Review
I have to start off by saying, that I am a Startrek buff. I LOVE everything there is to do with Startrek, and have viewed every episode of TNG and DS9 ever aired. I have also seen every Startrek movie created, and could name at least 50 people that resided on the Enterprise during TNG (not necessarily the entire show, some moved on, died, etc.).I feel that this was probably tied for the best Startrek movie ever created. I feel that First Contact and Generations are the best two ever created. This movie combines a lot of action, as well as realistic predicament, and very realistic scenarios. This certainly fit into the storyline as plausible, and never once made you ask how did this happen
The short-version of this review is that the film was extremely successful, and very good quality. It had good acting, a great storyline, and pretty good special effects. It also had some nice upgrades to ship and uniforms that look absolutely fabulous, that almost make me want to wear one all the time! Great movie for Startrek and Scifi fans. This movie would be a good movie for any Scifi fan, with an easy storyline to follow, that doesn’t require much previous TNG knowledge to follow
Below is a long, drawn out commentary. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, don’t read further. I have worked hard to keep it spoiler free, and have made notations on most of my information, of how it was already available from the series, so that it is not considered spoiler material. Nonetheless, if you haven’t seen it, view it, and then read my opinion, and see what you think first.***Below might contain references to the movie, but they are not anywhere close to spoilers. Just the same, wanted to give fair warning
The storyline is that the Borg invade the Federation, and attack Earth. They go back in time, to perform a mission. (This much was stated on the back of the cover, so no spoilers there.) I often wondered, back when TNG was on the air, if the Borg would try and do this during the series. It was very plausible, because we know the power of the Borg, and we know that we would be no match for them. The only thing that could have given us an advantage, would have been Captain Picard, due to his experience with being assimilated during the series. Also, we already knew that time travel was possible, and that the Borg were experimenting with it. So, that does not leave us with any jumps in logic
The movie was well written, acted, and directed. First off, tip of the hats to the costume and set designers. I LOVED the new uniforms, and thought that they were certainly much better looking than standard red, yellow, and blue ones from the show. Also, the new ship looked very realistic (again, we knew the Enterprise D was destroyed, so it only made sense to have a new ship built, and included in the movie). The actors put a lot of hard work into it, and it shows. I especially want to say good job to Brent Spiner, as he did an excellent job on data, acting the part, which you will understand once you watch the movie. Also, worth mentioning was the actor that played Zephram Cochran (I can’t remember the name off of the top of my head). He performed well, made the character seem very realistic for the personality portrayed. Another comment on the characters would have to be about ‘Lily’. I feel that the first part of the character, when she has the little fainting spell, was scripted and acted very well, but the script has her dealing with her ’situation’, a lot better than she should have. Even a strong character would have been a bit more reluctant to do what she did. I think that she took it a bit too well, but that is certainly not a major thing, and it’s only my opinion
I would like to also say that the special effects were pretty good, especially for the resources that they used.***Random Knowledge Tidbit: The green plate used on assimilation tables in all of the Borg ships during TNG, were actually store-bought electric lamps. They were the same as the ones that you can buy in the store, that are sensitive to touch, sound, etc. These are the ones that pulse out electricity, similar to the electric balls that have flowing strands of electricity touching the globe, but on a flat plate instead.
