“Kung Fu Panda” Movie Review

“Kung Fu Panda” Plot Summary

In the Valley of Peace, Po the Panda finds himself chosen as the Dragon Warrior despite the fact that he is obese and a complete novice at martial arts.

Exceptionaly visual, funny, action packed and intelligent movie for all ages.

One of the best comedy movies I’ve seen, this animation feature is both packed with action and intelligent at the same time. It’s yet another variation on ‘You can do anything if you believe in yourself’ and carries strong morale and educational message. But the way it’s done, the incredible visual side of the story, as well as the dialogs, is just exceptional. You can’t but love the fat Panda boy who’s dreaming about being the greatest warrior of all China only to wake up to the reality of hawing to serve noodle soup in his father’s shop. Unlike his father, who also dreamed but never found the courage to act on it, Panda follows his calling and by ‘luck’ get chosen to be the legendary Dragon warrior by the Kung-Fu grand master, the old turtle, to defeat the evil tiger. That’s when his training and troubles start. It’s really for anyone between 3 and 100 and I laughed and loved it from the titles in the beginning to the very end. Much recommended.

    “Shanghai Noon” Plot Summary

Jackie Chan plays a Chinese man who travels to the Wild West to rescue a kidnapped princess. After teaming up with a train robber, the unlikely duo takes on a Chinese traitor and his corrupt boss. add synopsis

perfect blend of action and comedy, the funniest western ever

This movie is a perfect blend of action and comedy. This movie stars Jackie Chan as Chon Wang, one of the soldiers of the army of the forbidden city in China. When the princess leaves and goes to America it is up to Chon to bring her back. When he gets to Nevada, where most of the story takes place he meets Roy O’Bannon played by Owen Wilson u’ll ever meet. He is a wanted outlaw and in an odd chain of events they become a duo. This is the funniest western, this movie surpasses Blazing Saddles by far. Blazing Saddles is funny but the one-liners that Owen Wilson drop are just so hilarious. ‘I don’t know Karate but I do know crazy, and I will use it’. Lucy Lui also stars as the Princess This movie is definitely worth seeing but you kinda wanna steer clear of the sequel ‘Shanghai Knights’ It does not do the first film justice. I have never been able to complete the second one mainly because it is boring. But salutes to Shanghai Noon the funniest western to date. 9 out of 10

    GREAT MOVIE!

I don’t understand why a lot of people didn’t like this movie. The fact is, if you didn’t like the main point of the TV series, or you don’t like the main concept of the movie, you shouldn’t see the movie! It was very colorful (to represent that its based off of the original TV series), it’s very well thought, and it’s good for entertainment! I loved this movie because they really made it seem similar to the TV series in different ways.

Yes, some of it may not make the best of logical sense, but it captures comedy, action, and romance. It is a fun movie and really interesting to keep your eyes glued to the screen! The acting is great, the script is well-written, and the direction of the director is really well done! 10 out of 10!

“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” Movie Review

    “Prince Caspian” Plot Summary

The Pevensie siblings return to Narnia, where they are enlisted to once again help ward off an evil king and restore the rightful heir to the land’s throne, Prince Caspian.

Even More Fun Than the First – a Winner!

    Saw it today

As good as the previous one, and just as moving

Narnia has been taken over for several generations by a foreign human people who have settled there, the Telmarine. Prince Caspian’s father, the king, has been killed and the uncle is the usurper. (Can you say ‘Hamlet’?!). Caspian is on the lam. Lucy, Edmund, Peter, and Susan are summoned to help by the prince’s horn as they are needed. Caspian is found hiding out underground with the Narnians whom the Telmarines thought were extinct

Alliances were formed with talking animals and various creatures, even some dwarfs and minotaurs previously allied to the White Witch–all oppose the foreigners in Narnia. Various exploits and battles ensue

Aslan shows up briefly later in the film. The White Witch even has a brief scene

This film is much less allegorical than the first, with much less sibling discord among the four English youngsters–Peter, Edmund, Lucy and Susan. They are all far more self-assured. especially Edmund

Action sequences are top notch, and it seems they used fewer digital ‘people’ than Lord of the Rings, which was OK: if you saw a cavalryman in the distance it was a real man and horse

Prince Caspian, interestingly, several times was a real screw-up, Peter and Edmund basically saved his throne for him. At least Aslan showed confidence in him

What was oddest was that although this film was made in New Zealand (as usual!), Slovenia, and Poland, all the Telmarines looked and sounded Spanish! ??? They all had Spanish accents, and even Caspian, played by Ben Barnes (born in London) spoke with a Spanish accent. The Italian actor who played Miraz said that the director wanted such an accent from all Telmarines

Best new talking animals: Trufflehunter (badger), and Reepicheep (sword wielding mouse with attitude).

As others have said, ‘The new Narnia can be seen as a parallel to the modern world, in which old beliefs are scoffed at. ‘Who believes in Aslan nowadays?’ asks Trumpkin (dwarf) when he first meets Caspian. Those who ‘hold on’, like the badgers, are praised: this links with Lewis’s views on religious faith’.I can’t say more about this film without giving away spoilers. But it was top notch.

“Kill Bill Part 1″ Plot Summary

The Bride wakes up after a long coma. The baby that she carried before entering the coma is gone. The only thing on her mind is to have revenge on the assassination team that betrayed her – a team she was once part of.

    Fantastic

Probably Tarantino’s most universal movie to date, with a little less character dependency than most of his films and a more linear approach than usual, Kill Bill Volume 1 is a great place to start for anyone new to his movies. I don’t mean to imply this is a shallow film (far from it), i simply found it easier on the mind than Tarantino’s other movies

Uma Thurman, left for dead by her ex-boyfriend (Bill) doesn’t die and begins her quest for vengeance, by hunting down Bill’s gang members in a search for Bill. Armed with a Samurai sword and a deadly blend of martial arts skills, Uma delivers action, violence and passion as she plays out the character with beautiful precision

Need i say, this is excellently directed, brilliantly scripted and cast, and should be in everyone’s Tarantino collection.10/10 Second only to Pulp Fiction. Although it has wider appeal (I think)

    “Payback” Plot Summary

Porter is shot by his wife and best friend and is left to die. When he survives he plots revenge. add synopsis

    Brilliant on Its Own

I’d go further than the rest of the posts and say two things: This is a brilliant story, full stop; and it may be one of the cinema’s precursors to another brilliant new bit of thug caper genre, ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.’ This film stands on its own against ‘Point Blank’, a delightful film in its own right. You do not need to know any of the previous film references to make this story work and it stands up just fine on its own, thank you very much

Others have commented on Gibson’s portrayal versus Marvin’s, but consider the context in which each film was made: Without taking anything away from Marvin’s performance I would argue that Gibson delivers the goods in just as satisfying a manner. Gibson’s portrait is more of a twenty-first century graphic novel’s character approach to justice than Marvin’s 1967 nod to cool spy culture and a bad-ass anti-hero’s approach to injustice

The author/director clearly worked this story until it was a lean, mean fighting machine, ruthlessly taking out what didn’t serve the story so that the overall effect is amazing pacing and audience satisfaction by turns of curiosity and empathy with this anti-hero. You cannot make this stuff up from brilliant inspiration, only very hard work can make a story this simple and elegant hang together with such artful complexity

I admit I am a fan of Gibson’s work, but not all of his ‘oeuvre’ is worth watching. This one definitely is, no matter what you think about his personal biases, love life, etc

And although this film is not outwardly credited (as far as I can tell) with having inspired Guy Richie, you can clearly see that this film and ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ are part and parcel of a similar vision of late nineties’ heroism, combined with very clever cinematography, excellent direction and muscular storytelling.

    Great Fun

A near perfect adaptation of the Broadway smash featuring an all-star cast who somehow all do their own singing and dancing

One of the very Broadway crossovers in recent memory to actually do its job and entertain, and boy, does it ever! Chicago sucks you in at minute one and you don’t really come up for air until a half hour has passed. Now thats a good movie. Musicals, theater etc are hardly my cup of tea, and Hollywood’s opium dream renditions are even less in my scope of enjoyment. Why Chicago works where most of them have flopped utterly, I am not sure but would have to bet its down to direction. Chicago’s song and dance segments are cut MTV style, but, Marshall seems to have almost perfected this technique to somehow capture the in-theater dramatic ‘zowie’ feeling that almost never makes it from stage to screen. While many argue Chicago owe its success at the Oscars to the drubbing Moulin Rouge took (quite deservedly) the year before, I happen to disagree and believe that for once the Academy actually got it right. The cast is fantastic. Sure you can nitpick about Gere being too nasally and too Gere, and maybe Zellwegger’s drunken bridesmaid dancing could have used a couple more takes, but the final product even with those bizarre ingredients is one of the most enjoyable experiences to come out of Hollywood, maybe ever?

One of the most entertaining, funnest, and enjoyable films in years!

This is not a film to be taken seriously. I love it! It is just such an entertaining film. The action is enjoyable and well done, although it is unrealistic, but that is why I loved it. The acting is good, the writing is of course so intentionally cheesy and corny, but I loved the plot! The women are HOT HOT HOT, and that is something that matters. I do not get why this film gets too much hate. Honestly, it is just done as a popcorn action film, and it works!!! It really is mindless, and that is why it is easier to enjoy than maybe other action films like Spider-Man (although another similar action-packed film Wanted is just better in every way and not mindless actually). Still, this film works for me, and I think it is better than the original.

    Very Entertaining

When i was reading through the comments below, i was really disappointed by the comments and reviews people gave. They just don’t understand the purpose of this movie. It is true that this movie doesn’t contain any moral values, but the question is, SO WHAT? A good movie doesn’t have to teach us morals or give us a lesson. Since when do you guys watch movies to learn about morals? Even though it will be advantageous to watch a movie that has a message, it is not required for a good movie. The reason why i give this movie 10/10 is because the plot was very witty and entertaining. The ending was very unpredictable and very satisfying. It is one of those movies that you will not understand the whole plot or the genius of the movie till the end. It’s the very end that makes the movie exceptional. In most movies, you will be able to guess the ending, or the ending won’t be that shocking. But this movie brings out a different approach. It is only one of its kind, so if you like movies that keeps you thinking, you don’t want to miss this one.

The murderous Bride continues her vengeance quest against her ex-boss, Bill, and his two remaining associates; his younger brother Budd, and Bill’s latest flame Elle.

    Lifetime-Worthy!

Lamest sequel ever!I kind of liked Kill Bill 1, but this ruined all of it

It didn’t have the same over-the-top stylization, humor, anything original

It’ll be on Lifetime forever, cuz it’s all soap opera drama about the cliche man-who-done-her-wrong; ‘I told you it was your baby (boo-hoo, why didn’t you believe me when I said you were the only one)?’ I was not expecting baby-mama drama, and a lengthy girl-power sermon

How does anyone like this movie???It’s too corny for guys, yet too violent for girls. It tries to please everybody, but that just tells you what you should have already known : Tarantino’s a no-talent sell-out brown-noser.
