    “We Were Soldiers” Movie Review

    “We Were Soldiers” Plot Summary

The story of the first major battle of the American phase of the Vietnam War and the soldiers on both sides that fought it.

I’ve been waiting over 30 years for one

Ever since 1970 when I finished my third tour of combat duty with the Marines in Viet Nam I have been waiting for a film that reflected the American Fighting Man in the Viet Nam war as an American Fighting Man; not a drugged-out, anti-war whiner. Well this is it. The movie is non-stop action after the first fifteen minutes of character development is finished. Having experienced what it is like to be over-run by the NVA during the third week of my first VN tour I can tell you that this movie does an excellent job of showing the excitement, tension, exhaustion, chaos, and courage of an extended battle. While this is by no means the best war movie I have ever seen, it is the first Viet Nam war movie which has provided me with a sense of satisfaction after leaving the theater. Mel Gibson turns in a good performance, Sam Elliot is a bit stiff. The wives of the soldiers are believable. Including a bit of the NVA’s attitude about the war adds a balanced flavor to the film. Overall I would say that you will experience at least a small part the intensity of war if you go to this movie. I took my female companion and she was shocked, touched, and thrilled with it. As Americans, we need to remember that freedom is not, and never has been, free. It is always paid for with the blood of those who fight to get it, sustain it, or expand it. The politically correct may not like this film, but then who cares what they like. Thanks for making this film Mel. I’ve been waiting over 30 years to see it.

“Planet of the Apes” Movie Review

“Planet of the Apes” Plot Summary

An astronaut lands on a planet inhabited by human-like apes, who rule the planet with an iron fist. add synopsis

    Great movie!!!

Good movie, actors, and plot…what more would you need? Nothing in this movie is lacking definition or explanation….it’s all right there! The only part that needs description is the ending, but it’s just a great leading into the sequel, which obviously there will be. I don’t think anyone should criticize this movie unless this is the kind of movie they like. Also, all you old POTA fans, you can’t compare this one to the original. The only thing in common is the basic plot….it’s not the same movie!!! So I think anyone who likes this type of genre of movies really will like this movie, but only see it if it interests you, not because you like the old POTA because it’s just not the same.

    “Hulk” Movie Review

    “Hulk” Plot Summary

Bruce Banner, a genetics researcher with a tragic past, suffers an accident that causes him to transform into a raging green monster when he gets angry.

    A great movie

This is, to date, my favorite superhero movie. I can but wonder why so many people think it is so bad

First, since it’s a superhero movie, there’s the action scenes. There’s not too many of them, and what there is, is quite good

I recall there being some criticism about the Hulk’s 3D model and how it is not detailed enough. While I kinda agree that it could be better, I do not think it is too distracting

Now, on to the story and characters. And here is the strongest part of the movie. The interaction of Hulk and Betty Ross is something that touches me on a personal level. And in general the characters are mainly well developed and have interesting enough interaction. The story progresses at a nice pace, not being too fast or too slow. It’s definitely a ’smarter’ and even more emotional than, say, the Spider-Man movies

I can’t think of too much else to say, since to me so much of what is good about this movie I can’t really find the words for, and in the end it’s the overall feeling that counts. I’ll end this by saying that while the new ‘The Incredible Hulk’ was a decent movie on its own right, in my books it doesn’t hold a candle to this movie.

“Raiders of the Lost Ark” Movie Review

“Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” Plot Summary

Archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis.

    Great Movie! A Must-See Adventure!!!!

When I first saw this movie, I could not believe it, because I just did not think that it was possible to make a movie like this. But they did and it worked great! My favorite scene was where Jones ran into that guy with the sword in Cario and it looked like a very big fight was coming up! When we see this, we are sitting on the edge of our seats, the tension is rising

Then out of the blue, Jones doesn’t want to do it, and so he just pulls out a gun and shoots him!! That scene is funny! I’m not saying that death is funny, its just how it happened! Because a few moments before he was beating up all of those bad guys and he had the gun

When I first saw this movie, I absent mindedly asked my mother if that was the real Ark, she said no because no one knows where the real Ark is, no one! This movie is one of the greatest adventure movies that I have ever seen in my whole entire life, and I am sure that all of you who have seen this movie will agree.10/10
