    “15 Minutes” Movie Review

    “15 Minutes” Plot Summary

A homicide detective and a fire marshall must stop a pair of murderers who commit videotaped crimes to become media darlings. add synopsis

    I LOVED IT

I haven’t read the critic’s reviews but I heard that they didn’t love it…however I did. Furthermore, I don’t like or always trust most critics. Anyway, back to the matter at heart.’15 Minutes’ is a graphic, often disturbing, roller-coaster ride of a film which basically depicts how sleazy the media can be. The acting is SUPERB and the characters are very believable. DeNiro gives an outstanding performance as a famous local cop who is obviously well respected and good at what he does. Ed Burns is the local fire marshall who also does a wonderful job of acting humble to DeNiro’s somewhat flamboyant character. The men who play the killers are INCREDIBLE actors who play sociopaths at their finest. Kelsey Grammar does a wonderful job as the sleazeball journalist who will do anything for a good story. While I didn’t like his character, I loved to hate him, which is always a good thing

There is a lot of graphic violence in this movie, which didn’t bother me but may bother some. It is definitely not a movie for kids. The only problem I had with this film was it’s cliched message. I mean, we already know that the media is sleazy, but what makes ‘15 Days’ special is the way in which Grammar gets a hold of his sleazy footage. That, to me, was unique

If you’re a DeNiro fan don’t miss this one.

    “Fame” Movie Review

    “Fame” Plot Summary

An updated version of the 1980 musical, which centered on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts.

    A surprise

I saw this film by myself in the cinema which gave me the chance to really focus on it-since I went to an early show. I thought the film would be a flop-I was kind of just killing time-in a nutshell. Surprisingly, I found the film very well done, hard and soft in all the right places-and bang on in its portrayals of the disciplinarians that exists in many American families. I was completely blown away by some of the music in the film. All in all I had a really good time and wasn’t expecting to at all

I saw the film Rent when that came out and I was expecting to have a better time than I did at it-I found Rent depressing whereas this one was really very life affirming in many ways

I guess you either get it or you don’t, just like you either appreciate the better dance and trance tunes or ya don’t.

    “Toy Story 2″ Movie Review

    “Toy Story 2″ Plot Summary

When Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends vow to rescue him, but Woody finds the idea of immortality in a museum tempting. add synopsis

Cute Toys Are Back With A Bang For More Adventure

It’s been about a decade since I last saw ‘Toy Story’. Thus, it would be unfair to compare that with ‘Toy Story 2′. Pixar has produced numerous gems since the first ‘Toy Story’. This one is a sheer delightful adventure and it’s not one that is only limited to entertaining children. There are the charming characters from the old one and some wonderful new characters that include the energetic Jessie the Yodelling Cowgirl, the hot barbies and Woody’s faithful and hyper steed. The animation is superb and looks refreshing. The story too takes a new turn that presents the dilemma of whether one should live an eternal life of wealth and security or an unpredictable life that at least promises a few years of love. The actors do a fine job lending their voice. Hanks and Allen are back as Woody and Buzz and Joan Cusack is a treat as the vivacious Jessie. But I must add that I loved Buzz’s gang that includes the hilarious Rex and the lovable Slinky, the resourceful Mr. Potatohead and the cute Hamm, and their attempts to rescue Woody and bring him back home. There’s a beautiful song by Sarah Mclachlan that dictates Jessie’s pain. The sequel being a huge hit just proves how timeless the characters are and I want to see ‘Toy Story’ again just to follow the whole story. It’s already been a decade since, but I wonder whether they’ll make a sequel and what the fate of our toy friends will be once Andy has grown up. ‘Toy Story 2′ is an unforgettable adventure with a beautiful soul.

    “The Simpsons Movie” Movie Review

    “The Simpsons Movie” Plot Summary

After Homer accidentally pollutes the town’s water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons family are declared fugitives.

The Simpsons Movie was Worth the Wait. Fantastic!

I Don’t want to give much away, but this movie truly is EPIC. The storyline is great, so is the animation. The movie is hilarious throughout, and also has one of the most emotional moments ever on The Simpsons. You can see just about every face ever on The Simpsons and they keep making subtle references, such as when Homer and Bart jump Springfield Gorge, the ambulance is still crashed into the tree

It definitely rewards long-time fans, but it is a great movie even for those who don’t watch the Simpsons. CGI only adds to the excellent drawings, and it is very cool to see them on the big screen! If you love the Simpsons, Old or New, you will LOVE this.

“X-Men: The Last Stand” Movie Review

    “X3″ Plot Summary

When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier’s former ally, Magneto. add synopsis

a different direction than the previous 2 movies but fantastic none the less

I LOVED the movie… I’m from Scotland and it was released here 25th may 2006. I just couldn’t BELIEVE the effects that happened, but to be honest the story could have been much better. I don’t like how the phoenix story is explained as it is clearly made that jean becomes the phoenix at the end of xmen 1… (for you ppl that don’t know, it’s supposed to be when magneto’s statue of liberty/mutant creator/thing is supposed to turn everyone into mutants that the phoenix force is to come into contact with jean, therefor, that is how we see her gasping/shocked after it is destroyed), not that it has simply been a part of her for the whole time since Xavier and magneto met her as is explained in xmen 3! The story line in the movie jumps from character to character without much inter loop. It can jump from one scene to the other but you can still figure out where the story is going. One thing that really got me was the fact that in one scene, kitty pryde is an innocent student taking part in a classroom discussion with Xavier, and the next after his parting, she is suddenly a main character in a room with iceman, storm, wolverine and beast. Where is the gradual trust/bond that is made up through the previous 2 movies that makes the characters an ‘x-man’? It’s obviously missed with this movie and throws kitty straight into the limelight which was slightly disturbing (just like the fact that she takes it upon herself to save the mutant at the source of the ‘cure’).I would love to go into detail about the movie as so many things remain unanswered but I can’t spoil it for the other fans who are yet to see it. All I have to say is be prepared to laugh, cry and deal with the demise/rise of certain characters in this movie. They certainly came as a shock to me, even after reading rumours circling the web about their story in the movie, I certainly wasn’t prepared for the demise of a few characters and the hurt that was shown by the others. All in all, a FANTASTIC movie that has to be seen by not only x-men fans, but by all to complete this ’supposed trilogy’.The ending of the film (the effects and the powerful end to one of the characters knocked me for six completely!), and by all means, the clip that was shown to me after the end credits also took me by surprise. Like I said ’supposed trilogy’ could make it into a 4-some. I’ve heard certain rumours about different end credits shown to different ppl and the one I was shown featured Moria McTaggart and her patient…. If it’s true, I would like to see the ‘jean grey/phoenix’ ending to the movie, just so it can relate to the comics and build up a story for the 4th xmen movie… but then again.. I think the probability of that is slim to none

From seeing the ‘Moria McTaggart’ ending and hearing about the ‘Jean Grey ending’, I would have LOVED if both were shown and they were intersected to create the 4th x-men movie, but that all depends on how well this movie does at the box office and how well the fans receive it

I hope and dream for someone to announce X-Men 4 so the story can continue, but with certain characters gone, it may not be entirely possible. It’s up to us, the fan’s, to make X-Men 3 a success and for others to make X-Men 4 a possibility….. Here’s hoping we can continue the story and resurrect/reclaim the characters’ demise in X-Men 3 to be a powerful resurrection to success for a hopeful X-Men 4.
