“American Gangster” Movie Review

“American Gangster” Plot Summary

In 1970s America, a detective works to bring down the drug empire of Frank Lucas, a heroin kingpin from Manhattan, who is smuggling the drug into the country from the Far East.

Great Gangster Film!

American Gangster is one of the few gangster movies I have seen. I think it might be one of the best if not the best. Another thing that makes this movie great is that there is historical accuracy, not a 100 percent but still accurate enough. This film is about a detective named Ritchie trying to capture the drug warlord Frank Lucas who is involved in many operations. He did this to support his family. An outcome involving the capture of Lucas really amazes me. Nearly three quarters of New York cops were arrested and convicted of bribery charges. Ridley Scottt did a great job directing this film. He can do any genre without making a fool out of himself. The acting is pretty good. I think Denzel Washington is a great actor. Russell Crowe actually did something right for once. The technical parts of the movie is pretty good. The movie is somewhat boring but I was kept awake because I was intrigued about the plot. I rate this movie 9/10.

    “Hollow Man” Movie Review

    “Hollow Man” Plot Summary

Scientists discover how to make people invisible, but their test subject becomes an insane killer who stalks them. add synopsis

    Good movie that i like

There are 2 reasons why this movie is good and there is 1 reason why this movie is bad.reasons why this movie is good: 1.

There is a good cast in this movie with good actors and actress like The really great actor Kevin Bacon from the great movie Mystic River,The really beautiful Elisabeth Shue from the great movie Back To The Future Part II,Josh Brolin,Kim Dickens and Joey Slotnick.2.

The special Effects in this movie are really great

There is one reason why this movie is bad:1.how Kevin Bacon never seemed to die in this movie even after being on fire and then he got hit in the head with a metal pole and then he got electrocuted but he did not die

Over all this movie is mostly good but there are some flaws and my rating is 6 out of 10.

    “Milk” Movie Review

    “Milk” Plot Summary

The story of Harvey Milk, and his struggles as an American gay activist who fought for gay rights and became California’s first openly gay elected official.

Eye opening and heart breaking regardless of age or sexual preference

Born and raised in a southern, catholic community, I saw that homosexuals were always grouped with prostitutes and rapists in our religion books. Something didn’t quite sit right with me when I saw this ever since I was very young. The anti gay feelings abound in a small southern city, and, although I myself am straight, I was always in the minority of gay right supporters

Van Sant’s Milk could not have come at a better time in my life. This movie is a transcendent bio pic, and an inspiration to me now and forever. In my theater, a packed crowd with an average age of about 60 gathered. (I found this interesting, why so many seniors? Was it guilt?) The film exceeds both as a touching biography and a bold social statement. Van Sant really does what Alfred Hitchcock so famously did, and ‘played the audience like a piano’. We laughed, we thought, and came out of the theater a little bit more in tune with reality. I was the youngest in the theater by about 40 years, so I saw from an outside looking in at what this film really did

So much has been said about how well made the film is that anything else would be redundant, but the praise is well deserved. Penn should be a top runner for Best Actor, as he completely disappears into his character. Another actor that was an absolute thrill to watch in this movie was Emile Hirsch, who was fantastic

So emotionally wrenching, it will stand the test of time. It is so powerful because everyone knows someone that’s gay and someone that’s a bigot. The best movie of the year I’ve seen.

    “Planet Terror” Movie Review

    “Grindhouse: Planet Terror” Plot Summary

After an experimental bio-weapon is released, turning thousands into zombie-like creatures, it’s up to a rag-tag group of survivors to stop the infected and those behind its release.

    A brilliant masterpiece

Normally I never really leave user comments however in the case of this movie I feel compelled to write a small review, so here goes…

From the first viewing of planet terror I can safely say that I didn’t really get it, I found it OK and I knew enough not to take it too seriously but it still didn’t seem to really convey itself as a movie worth watching again.

Now, with some relish, I can say that I was wrong. After a second viewing a week ago I found the movie an infinite amount better. It’s full of entertaining slices of comic brilliance as well as vast amounts of action, thrills and spills to keep you glued to the screen.

It is well worth noting that this film was never meant to be accurate or realistic in any sense, and if you bear that in mind from the start then you’ll love this movie as much as I do.

Whilst it will not win any Oscars anytime soon, it is well worth seeing if you just want to have a fun and enjoyable movie experience. The director Robert Rodriguez does not take this movie seriously and if you really want to savour this gem of a film then neither should you.
