“Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen ” 2009 by Michael Bay – Movie Review
Michael Bay has created a miracle and made the second part of the movie not worse (and nobody is able to do it better) than the first.
To cut the long story short, let me tell you what is waiting for the audience of “Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen”: Megan Fox in sexy ultra-short shorts, robot-bikes (not as steep as in the “Terminator 4: Salvation“, but still cool), a funny robot turns into a toy RC jeep, Megan Fox in sexy leather pants, the nano-robot composed of small metal balls, a giant robot composed of 5 or 7 machines, Megan Fox in sexy white pants, large one-eyed jaguar robot, a huge robot with the giant steel balls, an awesome sexy blonde robot in panties and a metal tail at the level of the coccyx, and much much more.
Okay, in short, that’s almost all the plot of the second Transformers movie.
‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen” (2009) Plot Overview
While the good robots, who has signed in to protect the Earth from evil robots, are finding their way through the bureaucracy of the Ministry of Defense, and the bad robots are regrouping gloomily somewhere near Saturn, the grown-up hero of the first “Transformers” (LaBeouf) argues with clearly too cool for him car mechanic girl (Fox) about who is the first to say “I love you”, and explains why he is not taking the animate “Chevrolet” to the college with him. Higher education, however, is limited to falling into bed with a pornographic student and the demolition of the library – the trumpet calls, the giant robot says: “Sam, we need you”.

‘Terminator Salvation’ 2009 – Review
‘Terminator Salvation’ is the movie starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington. Impressive visual effects, powerful mythology, strong script and harmonious cast – these are components of the fourth part of the saga about the deadly war between machines and humans.
Fears of fans which were waiting for the movie release with a sinking heart – if McG will ‘craft’ something similar to Mostow’s ‘chef-d’oeuvre’ – those fears appeared to be groundless. ‘Terminator: Salvation’ managed to wash off the stain which was mercilessly imposed on the Terminator franchise by mess titled ‘Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines’. Now you can easily erase Kristanna Loken’s Terminatrix and amoebous John Connor performed miserably by Nick Stahl from your memory. Feel free to consider ‘Terminator’ a trilogy with ‘terminator Salvation’ being the third part.
The opening musical score of the ‘Terminator’ – like a hammer knocking on the anvil, which promises arduous trials to the humankind – is responsible for creating a legend out of the low-budget action movie to the same extent as Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has played the ruthless machine in the preceding three Terminators.
This familiar tune is perhaps the only component maintained by the franchise up to the fourth series of the ‘human-vs-machines’ opposition story. With this mechanical heartbeat, which penetrates into every corner of the audience’s hearts, six years after the ‘Rise Of The machines’ enters the fourth installation by director McG.

McG is a cunning fellow, so he chose the right way to reanimate the movie legend – he has invited Christian Bale to star in ‘Salvation’. McG as a director has got enough competence and skills to do high-tech cinema attraction ( ‘Charlie’s Angels’), but he still lacks the charisma of James Cameron to end up with ‘ the magic’ of cinema. The legend of ‘Terminator’ requires much more than just a skilled professional, and that fact has been proven by the Jonathan Mostow’s ‘Terminator 3′.

“We Were Soldiers” Movie Review
“We Were Soldiers” Plot Summary
The story of the first major battle of the American phase of the Vietnam War and the soldiers on both sides that fought it.
I’ve been waiting over 30 years for one
Ever since 1970 when I finished my third tour of combat duty with the Marines in Viet Nam I have been waiting for a film that reflected the American Fighting Man in the Viet Nam war as an American Fighting Man; not a drugged-out, anti-war whiner. Well this is it. The movie is non-stop action after the first fifteen minutes of character development is finished. Having experienced what it is like to be over-run by the NVA during the third week of my first VN tour I can tell you that this movie does an excellent job of showing the excitement, tension, exhaustion, chaos, and courage of an extended battle. While this is by no means the best war movie I have ever seen, it is the first Viet Nam war movie which has provided me with a sense of satisfaction after leaving the theater. Mel Gibson turns in a good performance, Sam Elliot is a bit stiff. The wives of the soldiers are believable. Including a bit of the NVA’s attitude about the war adds a balanced flavor to the film. Overall I would say that you will experience at least a small part the intensity of war if you go to this movie. I took my female companion and she was shocked, touched, and thrilled with it. As Americans, we need to remember that freedom is not, and never has been, free. It is always paid for with the blood of those who fight to get it, sustain it, or expand it. The politically correct may not like this film, but then who cares what they like. Thanks for making this film Mel. I’ve been waiting over 30 years to see it.

“Bedtime Stories” Plot Summary
A family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true.
Pretty good. A fun family movie.
Way better than I thought it’d be. I was expecting total garbage when I saw the movie today, but I was pleasantly surprised. Adam Sandler is very funny in this movie. It’s fun for the whole family. Keri Russell is a very good actress in her role. Those cute little kids that plays Adam’s niece and nephew are good in their roles. Russel brand is good as the best friend. Richard Griffiths is perfect as always in everything he does. The guy that plays Adam’s dad was amazing. I loved his voice over. I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint is that the Guinea Pig jokes were a little much at times. All and all it was a good movie.

“Surrogates” Plot Summary
Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others surrogates. |
Yet another brilliant Willis thriller!
‘Surrogates’ is yet another example of just how good an actor Bruce Willis is. This is a great movie that is exciting throughout the whole thing. There are no boring parts in this movie.
This movie is about a world where almost everyone has a ’surrogate’. A surrogate is basically a robot that is controlled by your mind and lives your life for you while you lie in a special chair. The point of surrogates is that you can live the life you want without any risk to yourself. Then a weapon emerges that when fired at a surrogate can kill the person using the surrogate. This makes the whole point of surrogacy obsolete. So a cop, Tom Greer (Bruce Willis), has to investigate these murders.
The movie is full of action and excitement and certainly is one of Bruce Willis’s best action/thriller films. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in robots, action and thriller movies to watch this one.

“Highlander” Movie Review
“Highlander” Plot Summary
An immortal Scottish swordsman must confront the last of his immortal opponent, a murderously brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled “Prize”.
Great story told with heart
I can honestly say that Highlander is one of the most original and affecting stories I have ever had the pleasure of viewing, although sadly not in the cinema. The film has its flaws but the cumulative effect of all the various elements make this a film that is really like no other, and often imitated. There are many elements in the film that were experimental at the time, especially for a genre film. The editing style is much more painterly and nonlinear than what one normally expects. The integration of modern songs in a period setting was handled brilliantly, with the crowning achievement of the film being the ‘who wants to live forever?’ montage, which is an absolutely heartbreaking scene. Anyone who has ever truly loved someone will understand when you see it. One of the refreshing aspects of Highlander is that the movie is not just set up with an interesting concept and becomes a mindless action film from there, but that it actually comments on the questions posed by immortality. With Connor Macleod we are given a fantastic character who is brilliantly realized through Chrisopher Lambert’s complex performance. The change he goes through from young, innocent Scotsman to a sad, world weary antiques dealer is a wonderful achievement. I actually feel through his performance how lonely the life of an immortal must be, and how he keeps people at a distance whereas to not get too deeply involved. This film has it’s heart in the right place because it comments on the fact that when people lose everything they hold dear, in this case because Macleod will outlive everyone he cares about, they travel inward, cutting themselves off from the world in hopes that they will be spared the pain of seeing the ones they love die. From a story standpoint alone, this is a truly magnificent film, which isn’t to say it is lacking in other areas. The camera angles are very inventive and some of the transitions between time frames are jaw-dropping. The musical score by Michael Kamen is lush and romantic, while at the same time allowing for an integration with the songs by Queen that is a tremendously successful idea that in theory you’d never think would work right, but strangely it does so extremely well. There is a wide range of performance in the film ranging from Lambert’s subtle, understated interpretation of Connor, to Clancy Brown’s flamboyantly theatrical portrayal of the main Villain. Sean Connery also makes quite an impression as Connor’s mentor. He is both hilarious and charming, powerful and poignant. The female character’s are also handled very well with Conner’s first wife Heather being the standout. Highlander has a very odd sense of humor that seems to have come from improvisation from the actors. The entire film has a spontaneous energy that works very well because you never quite know what is going to happen next. This is not a perfect film, and sometimes it tends to fall back on genre stereotypes but the overall effect of the film more than makes up for it. Highlander is one of the more original films ever made, and sadly none of the sequels ever built on that. As far as the Highlander series goes; There can be only one, and this is it.

One of My Top 3 Favorite Films
What more could you want from a movie. Tim Burton is my favorite director and Johnny Depp is my favorite actor. Martin Landau is brilliant as Bela ‘Pull the String! Pull the String!’. I watch this movie over and over finding new things each time. I can’t wait till the DVD comes to America. If you like this movie I’d recommend any of Tim Burton’s other films and the Peter Bogdonavich film ‘Paper Moon’, which is also in black and white.

“Bruno” Movie Review
“Bruno” Plot Summary
Flamboyant Austrian fashionista Bruno takes his show to America.
Brilliant satire
Satire has been defined as stretching a position to its logical conclusion in order to expose its absurdity, for example, Jonathan Swift suggesting that the starving Irish should show initiative by fattening up their children and selling them to well-to-do families as food. The brilliant satirist Sacha Baron Cohen in Larry Charles’ Bruno takes the story of a Gay Austrian fashionista seeking to become a celebrity in the U.S. and stretches it to its logical conclusion and then extends it – way beyond. It is often hard to tell if the film is an expose of the debasement of our culture or just another of example of it
In the film, a sequel to the 2006 mega-hit Borat, Bruno comes to Los Angles to become host of his own A-List Celebrity Max Out after being fired from his job as a TV host of the Austrian show Funkyzeit and being ’schwartz-listed’. Needless to say, it maxes out after the first viewing thanks to an abortive interview with Paula Abdul and Harrison Ford. Not letting a temporary setback stand in his way, Bruno hires an assistant named Lutz (Gustaf Hammarsten), and travels far and wide in an elusive search for the American Dream known as fame and fortune. In his stunts and misadventures (mostly in the South and Southwest), he exposes the raw prejudices that exist against gays and the sickening cult of celebrity that grips us as a nation
The funniest scenes are at a swinger’s party, on a Dallas talk show, at a gay ‘deprogramming’ session, during a visit to a psychic where Bruno mimes oral sex, and the spectacle of a drunken crowd stirred up by ’scared straight’ Bruno bashing gays in a fight-club arena. Seeking to become recognized world wide, Bruno travels to the Middle East to try and bring the Arabs and the Israeli’s together but confuses Hamas with Hummus and the only thing they can agree on is that it is good with pita bread. In another sequence, he goes to Africa to swap his iPod for a little black child named OJ which he uses to crash American talk shows. Baron Cohen, who wrote the script with Anthony Hines, Dan Mazer and Jeff Schaffer saves his heavy artillery for narrow mindedness of every stripe
The film ridicules all it comes in contact with, sparing nothing and nobody – from exhibitionist gays to up-tight straights, to families who will starve their children for a modeling gig. Some sequences hit their targets, others do not. If you are looking for good taste, you will not find it here. While satire in film is not supposed to be a comfortable experience and is supposed to make you squirm and even at times hide your eyes, it is not supposed to make you want to walk out
Bruno travels a thin line between what’s merely outlandish and what is revolting and its in your face shamelessness comes awfully close to defeating its own purpose. The fact that the Cambridge-educated Cohen is ultimately able to pull it off, however, and make it entertaining is a tribute to his courage and originality. While Bruno can be shocking and very disturbing, it is also a mirror for us to look at ourselves. Like the est training of the 1970s that was often confrontational, we may not like what we see but we can use it to grow from the experience.

“The Day the Earth Stood Still” Movie Review
“D.T.E.S.S.” Plot Summary
A remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film about an alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart who visit Earth.
Great Story
When a science-fiction movie’s location is not space but is earth, also if there is an alien threat, it becomes a nightmare for most of the audiences. At least, I feel this way and I believe so. If you can focus on this movie carefully and if you have no idea about it before, you will enjoy it and you will scare a bit. Many of other critics did not fit my thoughts and I really liked to watch how earth stopped. Especially the ending message is good but could be better if editors would leave it longer. I think many of other fans will wait for it’s DVD to see the deleted scenes. Because somethings looks missing in this one. 7/10 Give this one a chance and watch it.

“Ali” Movie Review
“Ali” Plot Summary
A biography of sports legend, Muhammad Ali, from his early days to his days in the ring. add synopsis
The Greatest of All Times – Ali
In this true story about the life of Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali, director Michael Mann does a great job of bringing Ali’s personality to life by casting Will Smith for the title role. This movie takes you through the accounts of Ali’s life showing you how he became ‘The Greatest’ including his title fight with Sonny Liston (Michael Bentt), his decision to follow the Nation of Islam, personal triumphs and defeats with marriage, being banned from boxing, and the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ against George Foreman (Charles Shufford).
Although the movie did a pretty good job of depicting Ali’s life by the use of non linear structure and showing the complexity of human relationships, I felt it would have been a little more interesting if it would have shown more about his connection to Malcolm X (Mario Van Peebles) and the Nation of Islam since he is a devout Muslim
The movie shows the heart and determination of Ali and his quest for being the greatest boxer of all times by the vigorous workouts and strict training regiments by his trainer/cornerman Drew ‘Bundini’ Brown (Jamie Foxx) with the use of deep focus in a lot of the shots where the two of the had conversations and extreme close up shots of Ali’s face during his fights when he was sent to his corner, especially of his eyes
The intensity of the workouts and the actual fights made you feel like you were right amongst the action, similar to the portrayal of Denzel Washington as Reuben ‘The Hurricane’ Carter in his life story
It shows his playful humor with his opponents, often calling them names, taunting them about being so ugly and his colleague, Howard Cosell (Jon Voight) whom he shares a close relationship with and always teased about snatching his toupee off of his head and how much prettier he was than Howard
In his personal life, Ali goes through a series of marriages with Sonji Roi (Jada Pinkett Smith), Belinda Ali (Nona Gaye) and Veronica Porche (Michael Michelle) and being banished from boxing for not participating in the Vietnam War
Overall, the movie was a pretty decent portrayal of Ali’s career and personal life, showing the highs and lows, personal triumphs and ultimate victory of one mans quest to be the ‘Greatest of All Times’ through hard work, being focused, dedication, love, and friendship with some tears, laughter and playful banter.
