“The Bourne Supremacy” Plot Summary
When Jason Bourne is framed for a botched CIA operation he is forced to take up his former life as a trained assassin to survive.
Great sequel that improves on the original
The Bourne Supremacy is a very entertaining action movie and even though it feels and looks like the original its still a great sequel. In The Bourne Identity, sleeper agent/assassin Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) went on the run from his own agency, the CIA, when they tried to take him out of commission. Although he thought his troubles were over, he is forced back into the life when he is framed for a botched CIA operation, so he takes the fight back to them while trying to find out more about his past and the memories that haunt him. The plot is very good and it is carried out well by a talented cast. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat and you most likely won’t be bored. The best new addition to the cast is Joan Allen and she gives a really good performance. Matt Damon is once again Jason Bourne and he gives a great performance. Brian Cox is also back and I like him this time around because he dies and you don’t have to deal with him anymore. The last main part of the cast is Julia Stiles and she may actually have a future ahead of her in Hollywood. Paul Greengrass directs and he does a good job of replacing Doug Liman. The direction is really good and it keeps its audience interested and it keeps you guessing right until the end. Some people will complain that there’s nothing new and its not worth the time to watch but its a lot more exciting then the original. Rating 8/10 a nearly flawless action movie that improves over the original. I recommend you see this movie it won’t disappoint you.

“Pretty Woman” Plot Summary
A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events, and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets… only to fall in love.
A winning romantic comedy.
Garry Marshall may not be the most interesting director working in Hollywood, but his movies are definitely entertaining, and in that sense he is successful. Perhaps his two greatest films, which also are the ones he’ll most likely be remembered for, are ‘Beaches’ and ‘Pretty Woman’. One of the most commercially successful (almost $500m worldwide!!) romantic comedies of all time,’Pretty Woman’ is a charming modern day fairy tale that works largely in part to the phenomenal on-screen chemistry between its two stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. In an Academy Award nominated performance as Vivian Ward, Julia Roberts truly shines. Her screen presence is nothing short of radiating, not to mention she’s a highly skilled comedic actress. The film also owes a lot to its equally strong supporting performances from Jason Alexander, Laura San Giacomo and Hector Elizondo. All cliches aside, it’s highly enjoyable and stands up superbly even after repeated viewings, a definite 10/10.

Jackie Chan plays a Chinese man who travels to the Wild West to rescue a kidnapped princess. After teaming up with a train robber, the unlikely duo takes on a Chinese traitor and his corrupt boss. add synopsis
perfect blend of action and comedy, the funniest western ever
This movie is a perfect blend of action and comedy. This movie stars Jackie Chan as Chon Wang, one of the soldiers of the army of the forbidden city in China. When the princess leaves and goes to America it is up to Chon to bring her back. When he gets to Nevada, where most of the story takes place he meets Roy O’Bannon played by Owen Wilson u’ll ever meet. He is a wanted outlaw and in an odd chain of events they become a duo. This is the funniest western, this movie surpasses Blazing Saddles by far. Blazing Saddles is funny but the one-liners that Owen Wilson drop are just so hilarious. ‘I don’t know Karate but I do know crazy, and I will use it’. Lucy Lui also stars as the Princess This movie is definitely worth seeing but you kinda wanna steer clear of the sequel ‘Shanghai Knights’ It does not do the first film justice. I have never been able to complete the second one mainly because it is boring. But salutes to Shanghai Noon the funniest western to date. 9 out of 10

“Predator” Movie Review
“Predator” Plot Summary
A team of commandos, on a mission in a Central American jungle, find themselves hunted by an extra-terrestrial warrior.
Really cool action with unforgettable characters
In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger was solidifying his position as an action superstar with the releases of the epic Conan, the influential Terminator and the somewhat mediocre Commando that was still fun to watch anyway. However, that position wouldn’t be fully cemented until the arrival of Terminator 2 in 1991 which forever raised the bar for the action genre.
But plain and simple, ‘Predator’ is a staple for Schwarzenegger’s profile. It introduced the ultra cool ‘Predator’ to the world and changed the popular culture’s perspectives on alien movies. But the movie itself isn’t just known for the central character, like the crappy Friday the 13th movies that are only known for the murderous Jason Voorhees and his stupid hockey mask. But ‘Predator’ is known for the movie as a whole, with a great simplistic plot, awesome characters and great action that will make people want to see this again and again.
The movie is a about a former soldier/mercenary named Dutch (Arnie) who has been involved in a lot of conflict and has since decided to settle down and be the leader of a rescue team. He goes to a South American country to participate in a mission that would supposedly rescue a Cabinet Minister and a few other hostages, but later on he finds out that he’s been set up and it was actually a mission to destroy a rebel base that would’ve invaded sooner or later. And Dutch gets ticked off and he and his team try to escape the jungle, but they’re then being pursued by an alien who ‘hunts’ rather than kills. As the situation escalates, Dutch starts to lose his sanity and that’s totally evident in the final showdown with the creature.
Like James Cameron’s ‘Aliens’ that came out the year before, ‘Predator’ is shaped by it’s excellent characters, Dutch is the great, silent leader who is somewhat broken inside from all the combat that he went through in the past and his quote ‘If it bleeds, we can kill it’ is among the greatest. Blain is the totally cool tobacco-chewing, mini-gun-totting guy who spewed out 2 of the movie’s best lines: ‘I ain’t got time to bleed’, and ‘This stuff’ll make you a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus, just like me’. Mac is pretty much Blain’s best bud and frequently shaves with his razor and without the shaving cream to show his manliness. Hawkins is the super-nerd of the group who reads comic books and occasionally makes some sick jokes about his girlfriend. Billy is the silent, no-nonsense spiritual dude. Dillon is the dirty CIA agent who was best pals with Dutch a few years back and then sets up Dutch and his team, which leads to their demise and his, as well. And finally, Poncho is the sympathetic, yet sarcastic soldier who connects with Anna, their hostage, during the course of the film. And these guys are great characters; and they each have their own personalities, which makes you want to see more out of each guy.
And of course, I can’t forget about the ‘Predator’. The high-tech alien that hunts other creatures for sport was a very creative and original idea. It also held a very intimidating presence and the special effects were very well done, especially the camouflage. And I’m still wondering how that managed to do that in 1987.
And last, but not the least, the action really stands out thanks to the direction of John McTiernan, who directed this right before he made ‘Die Hard’. The scene when the team attacks the rebel camp is, without a doubt one of the best in cinema, since it shows each team member providing something in the attack, and it’s not just one guy who acts like a one-man army and destroys everything in his path all by himself. Also, Dutch’s confrontation with the predator at the end, which displays more prehistoric styles of combat with the setting of the boulder and spike traps. And this movie makes up the modern warfare action and the caveman action so well.
Any action/sci-fi junkie should watch this, and they will be HOOKED. And you will want to see this again and again.

Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog retell the story of The Lion King, from their own unique perspective. add synopsis
Surprisingly Good
I have to be honest, i was expecting a failure so bad, because it really did sound like they were trying to milk the original movie to get money. But that wasn’t the case with this pretty funny (sometimes odd) movie. I loved how they told the story of Timon and Pumba, the story with Simba and him having trouble sleeping was funny. The jacuzzi bubble, and when Pumba leaves, the bubbles stop. It’s all harmless fun, good for kids and some adults. I think this movie will last for a while because it is rather good for a straight to Video and DVD movie. While the movie does seem a little odd and kind of trails off toward the end, it works. 8 out of 10

“Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Movie Review
“HP and the Order of the Phoenix” Plot Summary
With their warning about Lord Voldemort’s return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.
Great and emotional
Well, for me it was a pretty great movie. I am too, a huge book fan. But I know that cinema and literature are two well respected but totally different arts. The narrative in both has to be managed differently so the message can get to the spectators. So I understand the challenged it is to adapt a novel and turn it into a script. My solution is to enjoy the movie for what it is and what is made of. If I am going to compare it harshly I’ll do it in its own gender: with the rest of the Harry potter films. This is a movie that along with the goblet of fire helps us experience the evolution in the characters. The kids are growing and now they turned into teenagers, who have to deal with so many issues
The visuals: are great, but at times they seem to have changed effects that had been used in previous movies. To me that’s a mistake, as a movie spectator, no matter how the direction changes I always want to see certain connection between movies that will keep me believing that no matter who is behind it, this is always a Harry potter sequel. ***Spoilers*** Two effects that changed a lot were the dementors and Sirius talking to Harry through the fire in the chimney. Still, that final battle is really impressive.***spoilers** The actors: The old actors seem to be giving a lot and that’s great. The new actors showed quite potential for the characters. Dolores: is pretty convincing as a despicable just plain odious teacher. Tonks: is sweet in a way and funny in other, to me that said well about her. Bellatrix: I think she was my favorite. She had this crazy, detestable glow. Although her intervention was small, I don’t think anybody was left with doubts about her personality or her further importance in the story. Finally, Luna: sweet, strange, not comprehended, sometimes creepy. But her addition to the gang was progressive and well assumed. I think Voldemort is amazing! His intervention in the goblet of fire and now in this movie just makes me see that Ralph Fiennes couldn’t be more perfect. The music: ?Honestly? At times I almost hated the music. I just beg for john Williams to get back in the sequel. I’m sorry but the music in this movie was just plain, sometimes even dull. It was nothing compared to the previous four. If they are going to change Williams, they should do it for someone in the same high category. I have to admit that my favorite movies are goblet of fire and in second place Prisoner of Azkaban. But order of phoenix gave out great tools to continue to experience the wonders that come up ahead in the lives of these amazing characters. I loved the movie getting darker, and I always think that creativity and having the guts to dare to give new aspects into each of the movies are some of the qualities a Harry potter director should have to put it together. Don’t get me wrong, I adore the books, J.K Rowling is a genius. But separately I like to see a well assembled story that will make me experience something as amazing as the Harry potter world. Order of phoenix is great, impressive and emotional. Of course I found stuff I didn’t like, but I found stuff I loved, I’m looking forward to the next.

“HP and the Chamber of Secrets” Plot Summary
Harry ignores warnings not to return to Hogwarts, only to find the school plagued by a series of mysterious attacks and a strange voice haunting him.
Worth the price of admission.
Warning to those who are avid fans of J.K. Rowling–I LOATHE the Harry Potter books. Yes, I have read them. I find her writing to be more than a little plagiaristic of the style of C.S. Lewis, but without the skill that he employed. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed both this and the first movie. Frankly, I don’t care if the scriptwriters left this bit or that bit out; it is simply impossible for all parts of any novel to be completely included in a film without turning it into an epic of a minimum of seven hours, which is ridiculous. That is the nature of a film; much over two-and-a-half hours and the theatres are only going to be able to show a limited number of screenings, which will, of necessity, limit the profit to be made on the film–and the bottom line of any film project is ‘How much of a profit will it make?’. (And, of course, how many people are going to be able to sit through it without multiple bathroom breaks? I had to run out myself once, cursing, just when they were about to ‘follow the spiders’…)I found the casting to be clever and appropriate; of special note is, of course, the late Richard Harris as Dumbledore (and I wonder if they will make the obvious choice to replace him in the next movie with Max von Sydow, who could be made to look and sound exactly the same?) as well as the return of Robbie Coltrane and Alan Rickman. Both of these actors can actually act, as opposed to simply being screen personalities. The visual effects are stunning, although just a little too obviously digital in more than a few cases. The story is easily followed, which is more than I could say for the original books. The pacing was almost perfect; I only looked at my watch twice–my measure for a movie in which I am immersed. Both times occurred, I might add, when I was distracted by Rupert Grint’s voice obviously cracking–they’re going to have to do something about the fact that their stars are definitely more than a few miles down the road of adolescence
This movie, of course, is raking in the cash. Deservedly so; it’s not by any stretch of the imagination a movie of any deep and lasting meaning, but it gives good value for one’s entertainment dollar, and at the scandalous prices that movie admissions are reaching now, that is certainly a ringing endorsement. It was able to take me away from the insanity of a stressful holiday season, and for that reason alone I was completely satisfied. See if it can do the same for you.

Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.
One of Disney’s Best
‘The Jungle Book’ is definitely a classic. This was the last one to be produced under Walt Disney himself, and it kept the animation department alive after him. If you have noticed a certain ‘formula’ to modern Disney animated features, you’ll see that ‘The Jungle Book’ does not quite fit that formula. It’s something I appreciate about old Disney pictures, especially this one.

“American History X” Plot Summary
A former neo-nazi skinhead tries to prevent his younger brother from going down the same wrong path that he did.
A masterpiece
Consider this: an ultra-low-budget movie on the subject of racism, with no CGI and few special effects of any kind, with all of the action taking place on two or three sets, the plotline basically consisting of two or three people talking at a time punctuated by occasional outbursts of no-holds-barred violence, a massive downer of an ending, and not starring the usual assortment of Hollywood stars. Sounds like an indie for sure, right? But it’s not. It was a Hollywood film, although for the life of me I can’t imagine how any major studio got behind it. AHX is one of the best films of the decade if not of all time. Norton, who was just kicking off his career, is absolutely mesmerizing as a repentant skinhead and Furlong, known primarily for his role in T2 (and whose career has sort of sputtered out), is right up there with him as the confused younger brother. A must-see for everyone, although not the kiddies. An amazing film, right up and through the incredibly sad ending.

“Up in the Air” Movie Review
“Up in the Air” Plot Summary
With a job that has him traveling around the country firing people, Ryan Bingham leads an empty life out of a suitcase, until his company does the unexpected: ground him.
A Very Significant Film.
I’m not a particularly big fan of romantic comedies but after hearing positive feedback from the critics (Particularry Roger Ebert) and that it had themes of our economic recession I felt that that it wouldn’t hurt to see it, My expectations were surpassed and it is now, in my opinion, one of the best films of the year
Ryan Bingham is an socially isolated Corprate downsizing expert whom also gives motivational speeches on how to ‘unpack your backpack’ which is essentially a metaphor for people and things in life holding you back from your dreams (I can relate to his character because I tend to isolate myself too), When a young naive woman comes up with a way of conveniently firing people online with no travel costs, Bingham must teach Kendrick’s character the dignity of their work, being there for them rather than coldly firing them on a messaging device. Clooney’s Character was compelling and his performance brilliant, Vera Farmiga & Anna Kendrick also played convincing roles but Clooney’s cynical performance stole the show though as the film progressed he showed a more emotional human side to him which makes me feel he deserves a nomination for Best Actor
The best element in this film is the screenplay, It intelligently blends cynical pessimistic wit and emotional drama in a very unique way that I rather enjoyed, I hope it gets some recognition at the Oscars a win, if not a nomination
This film contains themes of human relationships, life choices, the indoctrination of technology in our society, isolation, family support and our economic recession and the themes are not blatantly shoved down our throats. This film is smart, witty and emotional. In my opinion this film is one of the best films of the year, 8/10.
