    “Dogma” Movie Review

    “Dogma” Plot Summary

An abortion clinic worker with a special heritage is called upon to save the existence of humanity from being negated by two renegade angels trying to exploit a loophole and re-enter Heaven.

Great film, not up to the standard of Smith’s previous work

Those of you who are fans of Kevin Smith’s previous works (Clerks, Mallrats & Chasing Amy)may find this area familiar in some parts and unnerving and perhaps even commercial by comparison. Dogma sees fallen angels Bartleby and Loki (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon)attempting to make their way back into heaven via a newly instituted catholic dogma. The problem with this lies in the fact that if they are successful, they would have overturned a ruling by God, hence God is always right and if proven wrong would result in the undoing of existence. The familiar presence of Jay and Silent Bob is comforting and ensures that some of the essence Smith’s earlier work stays put, however at times this film dissents into areas that seem out of Smith’s depth. There are some surprisingly touching moments which implies that Smith gave a great deal of thought, similar to that of Chasing Amy. In general it is a great all round cast, (Linda Fiorentino,Chris Rock, Alan Rickman) and it is obvious that whilst writing this Smith had his tongue firmly in cheek.

    “Ratatouille” Movie Review

    “Ratatouille” Plot Summary

Remy is a young rat in the French countryside who arrives in Paris, only to find out that his cooking idol is dead. When he makes an unusual alliance with a restaurant’s new garbage boy, the culinary and personal adventures begin despite Remy’s family’s skepticism and the rat-hating world of humans.

GREAT addition to the Pixar family of films…

I attended a sneak preview of Ratatouille, and I have to say, Pixar has done it again. I enjoyed Cars, but didn’t LOVE it like some of the other Pixar Films (Monsters Inc and The Incredibles are my favorites). This movie, however, was just about perfect. If I had one complaint (and it’s VERY small) it was a just a little too long, but not by much. But the voices, the computer animation, the music, and above all the story were all top notch. I’m continually amazed at how Pixar continues to crank out great films like these that both children and adults can appreciate. I have a feeling most critics and film goers alike will rate this one very high. I wholeheartedly recommend the film – it really was a fun night out at the movies! Congrats Pixar!! Oh, and they also continue to do wonderful shorts that appear before the feature. This one involving aliens(that’s all I’ll say) is really cute and continues that fine tradition

    Can’t wait for the DVD!

    “Titan A.E.” Movie Review

“Titan A.E.: After Earth” Plot Summary

A young man learns that he has to find a hidden Earth ship before an enemy alien species does in order to secure the survival of humanity. add synopsis

    A film worth watching

Titan A.E. is well thought out and well developed. It is good adult animation in the same vein as Heavy Metal, while still being a movie for the family. Don Bluth scores one more triumph with his horde of animators and with the vocal talents of Matt Daimon, Drew Barrymore, Bill Pullman and Nathan Lane. The rest of the cast is also excellent. It does not have to be epic in nature to be fun to watch. I read some of the whinny comments from other reviewers and wonder how they can ever enjoy any movie when all they are doing is nitpicking. This film makes no pretense of being great art. It is simply an enjoyable story with good acting, excellent animation and a really fine sound score. And if an old man like myself can enjoy the music, younger people should also

I you have not seen it, by all means do. And don’t miss the making of feature after the end credits on the VHS and I am sure the DVD versions.

    “The Cable Guy” Movie Review

    “The Cable Guy” Plot Summary

A lonely and disturbed cable guy raised on television just wants a new friend, but his target, a designer, rejects him, with bad consequences.

    My Favorite 90’s movie!

Well in my opinion one of my favorite movies ever. The humor is 90’s and a lot of people don’t like that. I grew up with this movie, and I loved it ever since. Jim Carey is my favorite actor, and to see him so dark and creepy just makes me like him even more. His performance was outstanding. I do recommend this to anyone who loves Jim Carey, 90’s, and great twist. This movie also includes an outstanding cast that we still see today such as Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller. This movie is just too awesome, I don’t know why the critics didn’t like it, but this movie just was not marketed well like it should have. Everyone in the movie was outstanding and I just wish this movie got more because it was very good and 90’s. Just watch the movie, you might not like the humor but you will love the story and movie!
