“Freaky Friday” Plot Summary
An overworked mother and her daughter do not get along. When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the others life for one freaky Friday. add synopsis
Freaky Fun-day!
It was a remake and it delivered big time! Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are an unstoppably funny team of mother and daughter that have just the right chemistry, the right dose of sarcasm and the right dose of whatever it takes to make you laugh and enjoy this film. No film this cheery and delightful would be complete with the dish! And the dish here is Chad Michael Murray with awesome hair, playing the love interest of Lohan’s character
The story is about this mother and daughter who don’t seem to appreciate each other’s lives, so one Freaky Friday, while having dinner at a Chinese restaurant, they both receive fortune cookies with a weird message in them. The next morning, they wake up to find out that they have switched bodies, whereby the mum’s character now has the daughter’s thinking and reasoning, while the daughter now had the mother’s thoughts and reasoning
The result is a pure riot! A must see for everyone who enjoys watching films that warm the heart and make you laugh.

“Jumper” Plot Summary
A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.
Insanely idiotic and vapid
I ended up watching this movie by chance and considering how hard I can resist to walk out a theatre to give the film a chance, I inflicted myself some serious pressure not to walk away
I honestly can’t think of anything redeeming. The storyline is so bland I can only picture a bunch of 14yo Beavis and Butthead teenagers writing this on a clownpointed Saturday detention assignment. The characters are weak and predictable. The so called ‘great’ life David has is boring beyond words and looks like a mere cliche of a pure teenage fantasy. The way the story goes turns him into a little unappealing selfish spoiled boring knucklehead. Oh lord, prevent me from cringing. CRINGE CRINGE CRINGE! Jamie Bell is an awful actor and so irritating, Samuel L. Jackson is out of place, Rachel Bilson tries her best but what’s all the fuss about these people? I’d damn myself for eternity for taking part even in a minor role of this movie. The end is just even worse, fizzling out into the outer space of vergognaland
Save your money, that’s the best advice I can give.

Ray Keene, a father who wants to redeem himself in the eyes of his son, is trying to bring Carden, a world-class assassin to justice… add synopsis
Entertaining
When I saw the rating of this movie of 5.6 stars I thought that this had to be a very bad and boring film to have such a rate despite having very good actors (Freeman and Cusack), but after watching it I liked this film which I found entertaining
This movie gets what it tries to achieves which is just being a 96 minutes entertaining action film nothing else. I liked the performances specially the one of Morgan Freeman who looks so cool like the killer Carden, and I liked the comments of his character too, John Cusack is very good as the nice man who cares a lot about his son
Ray and his son go camping to the forest but their plan changes when they find the injured killer Carden over there, and they will have to take him to the police despite Cardens friends are looking for him …7 stars = good

“Scream 2″ Movie Review
“Scream 2″ Plot Summary
It has been two years since the tragic events at Woodsboro. Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks are trying to get on with their lives… add synopsis
My favorite of the three films.
Two years has passed… the infamous murders at Woodsboro has turned into a movie. Since the novel is written by reporter Gale Wheaters (Courtney Cox). Two college students (Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps) were killed in a sneak peak of a horror movie called ‘Stab’, which is based on Wheaters’ book. Now Sidney (Neve Campbell), Randy (Jamie Kennedy), Dewey (David Arquette), Gale and Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) find themselves in danger. This killer certainly wants something from Sidney, so she’s also putting her boyfriend (Jerry O’Connell) and her two friends (Timothy Olyphant & Elise Neal) in deep trouble as well
Directed by Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Shocker) made an truly enjoyable sequel to ‘Scream’ that is even more entertaining and funnier than the original. The script by Kevin Williamson (Cursed, Teaching Miss Tingle) certainly made some truly fun writing about the rules of a sequel. This was just as a blockbusters as the original was. Some film critics (For example the late Gene Siskel) felt the sequel was much better. There’s an amusing film within the film, which those scenes are directed (uncredited) by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids Trilogy, Grindhouse, The Faculty).
The Original DVD has an sharp non-anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD includes Cast & Crew information and the original theatrical trailer. The only flaw in the sequel is the conclusion, which is a bit too much. ‘Scream 2′ has many funny moments as well for suspenseful moments. A good cast certainly helps. Heather Graham, Joshua Jackson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tori Spelling, Luke Wilson and others appears in bit parts. ‘Scream 2′ is certainly one of the better sequels has to offer these days and don’t miss it. Also available in a collector’e edition DVD with anamorphic widescreen, commentary by the filmmakers and more. Panavision. (****/*****).

“King Kong” Movie Review
“Kong: The Eighth Wonder of the World” Plot Summary
In 1933 New York, an overly ambitious movie producer coerces his cast and hired ship crew to travel to mysterious Skull Island, where they encounter Kong, a giant ape who is immediately smitten with leading lady Ann Darrow.
Jackson’s Soulful, Spunky, Spectacular Labor of Love
I was one of the lucky winners of the Kong is King.net World Premiere Ticket contest, so my husband and I had the pleasure of seeing KING KONG in Times Square’s Loews E-Walk Theatre. I knew I’d like it the minute I saw the Art Deco opening credits, very reminiscent of RKO’s style. The movie only got better from there, carrying us moviegoers on a roller-coaster ride of adventure, romance, and eye-popping special effects. What raises Jackson’s take on KING KONG above other rock’em-sock’em action blockbusters is that it’s so clearly a labor of love in every sense of the term, a spectacle with soul and spunk. It’s not every rollicking adventure film that begins with scenes of life in 1933 New York City, when the Great Depression was at its worst. No wonder plucky but vulnerable actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts is at her most beautiful and winsome as a more proactive version of Fay Wray’s star-making role) is willing to take a chance with fast-talking movie producer/director Carl Denham (Jack Black, a rascally delight) on his latest project, involving leaving for the South Seas that very night
The characters are no mere genre archetypes; before their adventure begins, Jackson and his talented cast let us get to know and care about every one of them. When crewmen from the S.S. Venture get injured or killed by Skull Island’s various fearsome natives and beasts, we mourn them. When Ann and playwright Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody combines strength and sensitivity wonderfully as this unlikely hero. He gets my vote for Movie Mensch of the Year!) connect on screen, we’re moved and rooting for them to get together, especially after they share one of this year’s best screen kisses. Even the calculating Denham wins us over with his sheer force of will. A real Orson Welles type, the guy just loves making movies — and money — so much he’ll go to insane lengths to make his project a reality, whether it involves outrunning his creditors, shanghaiing Driscoll on the Venture, or tricking his cast and crew onto uncharted Skull Island
Most importantly, King Kong himself captivates us, thanks to a combination of WETA’s amazing special effects and the range of emotion provided by a motion-captured Andy Serkis. If only one cast member gets an Oscar nomination, I say give it to Serkis for his wonderful performances as both Kong and Lumpy the cook! :-) Kong has never been just another scary big ape in any of the previous film versions of his story, but Jackson and Serkis make him particularly engaging, not just because he looks so convincingly weatherbeaten, but he moves like an ape (on all fours, thank you) and has the facial expressions of a human. As a result, we can see how Kong’s terrifying side is influenced by his tender side. Yes, I said ‘tender.’ How else can you describe his protectiveness towards Ann on Skull Island after she wins him over by performing her lively vaudeville act? When Kong does go nutzoid, it’s because either he or Ann are being threatened, whether by people, planes, or Skull Island’s jaw-dropping, scream-inducing array of monsters and aborigine tribespeople. Jackson & Company give the big guy plenty of dizzying set pieces to show his stuff, involving everything from dinosaurs, toothy insects as long as your arm, and speeding taxicabs in New York City traffic (the scene where Brody did his own stunt driving; all those years of drag-racing on the streets of Woodhaven, Queens really paid off! :-), to say nothing of the dazzling Empire State Building climax. Moreover, Andrew Lesnie’s cinematography is as gorgeous as it is kinetic; Adrien Brody should make sure Lesnie photographs every film he’s in from now on, because he’s never looked so handsome as he does here! :-) KING KONG is over 3 hours long, yet I never once thought to look at my watch. It’s 3+ hours and the price of admission well-spent.

“The Passion of the Christ” Movie Review
“The Passion” Plot Summary
A film detailing the final hours and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. add synopsis
Amazing film on multiple levels.
Mel Gibson has done the impossible. He has created a tale of the Christ that works on three separate levels
As a spiritual message, the film is overwhelming, bringing tears of renewal to the believers in the audience. Even if you are not a believer, though, I still think there is something in this for you
As an historical observation, the film is brilliant, depicting the social and political dynamics of the Romans and Sanhedrin with clarity and accessibility. This is the most believable interpretation of what happened to Christ, and although I knew the story going in, I found myself getting caught in the narrative, hoping someone would realize that this was an innocent man and that the persecution would stop
Finally, as a work of art, this film is unparalleled. Mel borrows from the works of Caravaggio, Puntarmo, Michelangelo and Leonardo et. al., as well as the Medieval Passion Plays. As one who was made to study this in college, it all came back to me in a graphic context, with production design so amazing that it felt like I was going back in time, that I was seeing Jesus and Pilate and Peter and Mary
This film will rock your world, and that’s an understatement. One of the most beautiful films I have seen.

In London, a real-estate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs, attracting some of the city’s scrappiest tough guys and its more established underworld types, all of whom are looking to get rich quick. While the city’s seasoned criminals vie for the cash, an unexpected player — a drugged out rock ‘n’ roller presumed to be dead but very much alive — has a multi-million dollar prize fall into his hands.
Guy Ritchie at his best
Guy Ritchie’s career has run red hot and ice cold over the yrs. Guy’s unique European gangster movies know how to have fun. Really cool violence w/ really cool lines
Guy Ritchie busted out w/ cult gangster faves Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Then Madonna drained his awesome storytelling w/ Swept Away. Then came weak Revolver. Madonna wrecked one of my fave directors
I put off seeing RocknRolla and I regret it. Guy Ritchie is back! Every BLEEPING thing I love about his movies came back in a wave. Unforgettable characters, bad a** story, cool lines, and plenty of action to boot. He did get help from two BLEEPING great actors. Mark Strong ‘Archy’ and Toby Kebbell ‘Johnny Quid’If you gave up on Guy Ritchie come back. RocknRolla will win you over.

“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” Movie Review
“Sweeney Todd” Plot Summary
The infamous story of Benjamin Barker, a.k.a Sweeney Todd, who sets up a barber shop down in London which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett. Based on the hit Broadway musical.
Got me onside, surprisingly good
I am generally not a fan of musicals. I don’t like the artifice of singing dialogue moments. I have no problem with singing in a movie but this grates on me. Take Dreamgirls for instance. For the most part i was fine with it, good songs, performed as performances with a narrative structure surrounding them. However once of twice it had songs in place of dialogue where characters were discussing things amongst themselves or some such thing and i just got annoyed. And yes i dislike all the classics like West Side Story for this very reason
For about the first 20-30 minutes of Sweeney Todd I was having the same problem. This makes no bones about it being a musical. It’s not Rex Harrison speak-sing, it’s not staged songs in the middle of clumps of dialogue, it’s pretty much all singing. Everything. Every sentiment, every emotion, every plan, every aside. Yet after about 20 minutes or so i got used to it and went with it and then just appreciated the wonderful dark humour and sheer entertainment quality of it
Johnny Depp is great in the lead but he is complimented across the entire cast with Alan Rickman on fabulously villainous mode; Timothy Spall wonderfully revolting an Beadle Bamford – Rickman’s henchman; and Helena Bonham Carter hilariously off-centre with all the best lines. It also has a star making turn from a brilliant child actor, Edward Sanders. Much better than the now ubiquitous Freddie Highmore (who got his big break with Depp in Finding Neverland before rejoining him (with Burton) in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory) he seems destined to have a great career potentially
The film’s greatest achievement however is how Burton has translated it to screen. This is a purely film musical. It never feels stagey. Unlike recent films like The Producers, Dreamgirls, Chicago which felt largely like they’d stuck a camera in a theatre and just filmed the show here Burton is brave enough to create a cinematic musical using all the tricks of his craft. That is never feels like it belongs anywhere but on a cinema screen is a huge testament to Burton’s skill in the translation and I hope the Academy is intelligent enough to recognise this come the Oscars next year
The dark humour is great, the look is stunning, Depp is gloriously unhinged while remaining believable. Even if, like me, you don’t generally like this type of musical i think you’ll get swept up in Sweeney Todd and enjoy it. Bravo Mr Burton.

“Flags of Our Fathers” Movie Review
“Flags of Our Fathers” Plot Summary
The life stories of the six men who raised the flag at The Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in WWII.
Best movie in years – worthy of Academy Awards
‘Flags of our Fathers’ is the powerful and moving true story of what happened to the three survivors of the six men that raised the flag on Iwo Jima as immortalized in the Marine Corps Memorial
The editing of this film, utilizing flashbacks and showing how something as simple as a lightning bolt flashing can bring back memories that haunt veterans of combat is very true to life. My wife is a nurse at a Veterans Home – thunder claps in the middle of the night will invariably bring out cries from the sleeping combat veterans
What is also true to life is how these men – Rene Gagnon, Ira Hayes, and John Bradley – did not see themselves to be heroes. They felt that the heroes were those who had fallen on Iwo Jima – yet the public was continually holding them up to be more than they thought they were. This is shown very well when James Bradley is going through the box of his fathers possessions and pulls out an envelope with the Navy Cross stuffed in it. The Navy Cross is one step down from the Medal of Honor and is awarded for extraordinary heroism in combat – normally one who earned it would put it on display
The use of sepia tone at times – plus the sheer starkness of the black sands with the stark white of flares – gave this film a look that was very compelling. As far as how emotional of a movie this was shown in the theatre where I saw it – which was a full theatre on Veterans Day. At the end of the movie, the credits started rolling – and no one stood up. A lot of noses were being blown and tears were being shed, but no comments were made at all – this movie affected the audience that much
I consider this to be equal to Citizen Kane as far as quality movies are concerned. This isn’t light entertainment.

“Miami Vice” Plot Summary
Based on the 1980’s TV action/drama, this update focuses on vice detectives Crockett and Tubbs as their respective personal and professional lives become dangerously intertwined.
Impressive
The film jumps straight into the action and keeps viewers interested throughout on a two and a half hour roller-coaster ride. Although sometimes a strenuous story-line (concentration is needed to follow the plot) Foxx and Farrell provide excellent acting in an impressive action – flick. Good acting support is provided in a film which doesn’t just concentrate on action but touches on so much else. An improvement upon the already great Collateral, and a worthy successor to the original Miami Vice T.V series. With a mix of romance, beautiful settings, gorgeous vehicles, excellent fire-fights and inspirational acting – this is the film of the year so far. Mann has outdone himself.
