“One Hundred and One Dalmatians” Movie Review

“101 Dalmatians” Plot Summary

When a litter of dalmatian puppies are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the parents must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement.

fun for the whole family

i really enjoyed this animated Disney classic.it’s just a lot of fun.lots of action and excitement, and an excellent choice for the villain in Cruella Devil.whose is iconic(or should be)in my opinion.very young children may be a bit frightened of her,as she certainly is scary looking.her 2 henchman are quite inept, and provide a lot of comic relief.i also really liked the voice acting.i thought it fit well with the characters.the animation is also good, considering it is from 1961,though i’m sure it took a few years before that to complete.anyway,in my opinion, this classic is good fun for the whole family.my vote for 101 Dalmatians is an 8/10

“Monsters vs Aliens” Plot Summary

When a meteorite from outer space hits a young woman and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years. |

Enjoyable and fun.

Nothing really great, understand, but they took this ‘high concept’-fifties Hollywood movie Monsters and had them battle an alien invasion. Pretty funny.

It’s fast moving, there’s the usual satire(Close Encounters/Trek/Star Wars/the Blob/etc etc nods galore), funny voicers (Stephen Colbert as the Prezzy, Rogen as the Blob, Hugh Laurie as the Fly(more or less), and of course, the expected manic chase/action finale.

Best parts? They did a bang-up job on the Fifty Foot Gal there(Reese Witherspoon), rounding her character out much better than the usual animated gal is(‘the girl’ or ‘the wife’ or ‘the villainess’ etc) and I commend them for it.

Oh and the attack on San Fran is worth the price of admission, too.

*** outta ****, you’ll enjoy.

    “Stuart Little” Movie Review

    “Stuart Little” Plot Summary

The Little family adopt a charming young mouse named Stuart, but the family cat wants rid of him. add synopsis

Excellent Family Comedy with many famous talents…

Stuart Little is a comedy perfect for the entire family with may great talents

There are many familiar faces, such as Geena Davis, Hugh Laurie, known for playing Sarcastic Gregory House of House, MD., Johnathen Lipniki of The Littlest Vampire, SNL’s Julia Sweeny, and a cameo of Golden Girls’ Estelle Getty (She Played Sophia).

There are also many great voices, such as Michael J. Fox (Currently associated in a controversy of his Parkinson’s disease ad)as the ‘little’ hero, Stuart, Nathan Lane and Vincent Pastore as a particularly menacing cat named Smoky

The CGI effects are stunning. Stuart looks very life-like and so do the cats, who are pretty much the real thing

The film is based upon the book by E.B. White, best known for his book-turned-film, Charolette’s Web (Look for the Live action film in theaters December).

The Little family is looking to adopt a child…and what they got was Stuart, a white, orphan mouse. Mr. and Mrs. Little immediately take to him and choose him. However, George Little is far from impressed…to have a mouse for a brother…but, whom is even more dismayed is the family cat, Snowbell, being his name would be ruined of his cat buddies were to find out about Stuart, a ‘Mouse with a Pet Cat…’ So, as Stuart spends time to his new family the leader, Smoky, plots to rid the family of Stuart once and for all…But Stuart is ready for them…This is a sparkling, charming adaption of E.B. White’s novel.’Little Hi, Little Lo…Little Hey, Little Ho!’

Set in 1944, Valiant is a woodland pigeon who wants to become a great hero someday. When he hears they… add synopsis

    Great British film

Charming and funny. I liked it very much! You can tell the difference from British and American films. It’s about a small young pigeon who joined the RHPS (the Royal Homing Pigeon Service) for fame and glory and ending up finding just that, but only after a vicious fight with the studious Black Falcon who was a pigeon-eater falcon and a Nazi too (of course). Another spicy detail: the French Resistance is actually the French Resistacne Mouse Division. That’s it! I wont tell you anymore as it spoils the fun

Go out and see it. It’s a big laugh. At least for me and my girlfriend it did. It is not made by Pixar, but it is at least as good as the ones made by them.

    “101 Dalmatians” Plot Summary

A woman kidnaps puppies to kill them for their fur, but various animals then gang up against her and get their revenge in slapstick fashion. add synopsis

    Sweet, Family Friendly Movie

This movie, is a pretty good live action remake of the classic animated film. Some really veteran actors on the cast. Glenn Close is simply amazing as Cruella De Vil, not only scary (to kids) but also very funny. Hugh Laurie and Mark Williams are probably the two funniest characters on the cast, they are simply amazing. Jeff Daniels is funny in the beginning, with him going into the lake, but as the film goes on his character gets more serious. Same with Joely Richardson. Of course, and then there are the animals, who play the biggest roles. I can’t imagine the amount of training that had to be done with the animals for this film. They are just amazing in this film, and you see more then dogs in this movie

Overall, this is just a plain innocent family film. You will laugh your head off in some of the scenes. Very wonderful, a must see.

    “Street Kings” Movie Review

    “Street Kings” Plot Summary

Tom Ludlow is a veteran LAPD cop who finds life difficult to navigate after the death of his wife. When evidence implicates him in the execution of a fellow officer, he is forced to go up against the cop culture he’s been a part of his entire career, ultimately leading him to question the loyalties of everyone around him.

    Solid action pic

Okay, let’s face it. The credibility factor in almost ALL action flicks is questionable at best. If you really took the time to analyze the logic behind the story, you’d come up short. But, by definition, action pics are just that — heavy on the action, and not so heavy on the logic that supports the story. With this in mind, Street Kings is a solid, well-executed action flick that has all the right ingredients: a non-conformist hero you WANT to root for; a never-let-up story that keeps you riveted to the end; and a stylish, fast-paced visual smorgasbord that delivers from start to finish

Yes, the story falls short — you’ll find yourself asking questions like ‘Why did the undercover cops that Tom Ludlow (Keanu) kill want to eliminate Detective Washington if they weren’t part of Det. Wander’s crew to begin with?’ Yeah, it does get a little dicey if you think it through — but if you DON’T bother getting bogged down in the minutia, it works. Contrary to much of the published critique of the movie, I think Keanu brings exactly what is needed to the role — he’s vulnerable, jaded, broken… and invincible. What more could you want in a solid action pic??
