” Alien Resurrection” 1997 by Jean-Pierre Jeunet – Movie Review

Sci-Fi thriller “Alien: Resurrection” finalizes the quadrilogy of cult series about Aliens. In “Alien 4″ we bid farewell to Ripley so wonderfully impersonated by Sigourney Weaver. The final victory is won and the aliens will never be able to cause irreparable damage to the Earth and endanger the existence of humankind.

“Alien: Resurrection” Plot Summary

Auriga Research Facility

Auriga Research Facility

Ripley is successfully cloned from the eighth attempt, and the alien embryo is given new life with her. The military seem to be not able to abandon the crazy unrealizable idea of taming the aliens, turning them into creatures under human control. They do not want to recognize that this lethal weapon could destroy human civilization forever. Nobody can manage to breed the aliens in captivity, neither did anybody manage to train them. In “Alien 4″ Ripley gets a second life, but cloning has caused an unexpected effect of hybridization. She is extremely strong, has a highly developed instincts. Her blood like the blood of Aliens is capable to burn through metal. She calls herself ‘mother of the monster” and has the ability to feel the presence of monsters. She became much colder and sober-minded than she was in her real life.

The criminal military officials’ plans extend so far that they are willing to pay the pirates for kidnapping. The live cargo is going to be a ‘farm’ for breeding these extremely ‘attractive’ creatures. But Aliens do not doze for an extra minute, they spend great time spreading inside the research center. Although Ripley is perceived by the scientists as the production waste, she and the female android Annalee Call (Winona Rider) are to save the humankind from the invasion of the terrible Aliens.

    “Blade: Trinity” Movie Review

    “Blade III” Plot Summary

Blade, now a wanted man by the FBI, must join forces with the Nightstalkers to face his most challenging enemy yet: Dracula

    Blade: Trinity!

Blade: Trinity is a very good film that has a good cast which includes Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Dominic Purcell, Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds, Parker Posey, Mark Berry, John Michael Higgins, Callum Keith Rennie, Paul Michael Levesque, Paul Anthony, Francoise Yip, Michael Rawlins, James Remar, Natasha Lyonne, Haili Page, Patton Oswalt, Ron Selmour, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Eric Bogosian! The acting by all of these actors is very good. Snipes is really excellent in this film. I thought that he performed good as usual. Purcell really surprised Me! I hope he’ll be in some more action and horror pictures in the future. Biel was really terrific here. I was really amazed by her performance. I would like to see her in more action films as well. Reynolds was good. Posey and Lyonne were really good. I was surprised that Paul Michael Levesque AKA WWE’s HHH or Hunter Hearst Helmsley was in this film. Having followed his WCW days as Terra Ryzing until recently it was wired to see another top wrestling is a big budget film. To Me he actually was pretty good and quite hilarious. I think in the future if he decides to be in more movies that he’ll play very good characters and even in leading roles like fellow wrestlers The Rock and Hulk Hogan. Remar and Bogosian were very good as well. There are a few scenes that I thought were cool. The interview Bogosian did was really cool. The fight scenes in the very beginning were also very cool. I loved the police station scenes and how Snipes says Vampires exist and gives the scare to the shrink! Also cool camera following Blade in the police station as well! Just awesome! The thrills and action is really good and some of it is surprising. The Dracula character was really remarkable. In his monster form he reminded Me a lot of Imhotep from the MuMmy and the MuMmy Returns! The special effects are great! The movie is filmed very good. The music is great by Ramin Djawadi and The RZA. Great directing by David S. Goyer. The film is quite interesting and the movie really keeps you going until the end. This is a very good and thrilling film. If you like Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Dominic Purcell, Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds, Parker Posey, Mark Berry, John Michael Higgins, Callum Keith Rennie, Paul Michael Levesque (WWE’s HHH), James Remar, Natasha Lyonne, Eric Bogosian, the rest of the cast in the film, The other Blade movies, Horror, Action, Adventure, Thrillers, Fantasy, Comic, and interesting films then I strongly recommend you to see this film today! Movie Nuttball’s NOTE: On the second DVD in the Blade: Trinity case there is a special nearly two hour making of the third Blade movie. It shows how the music, special effects, fighting, sound, and everything else was done by the actors and crew. Biel and Reynolds talk about a possible spin off movie called ‘The Nightstalkers’. I wouldn’t mind that and I certainly wouldn’t mind another Blade film. In one of the other segments Jessica Biel talks about how hard she had to train and how difficult it was. She done her very best to make you happy. Snipes and Purcell fought the fight you wanted! The director tried to make this the most explosive vampire film ever seen for you and yet you people still complain! Thanks for reading!

    Good Different Movie

I actually enjoyed this movie.. i didn’t want to watch it at first because of all the bad reviews but i have no idea why people are bashing it so much.. the movie keeps you guessing like crazy and i keep hearing people talking about how offensive it is.. i have seen way worse movies when it comes to swearing and ’sex’ scenes and people have given these movies very high ratings. People that are saying this is an offensive movie need to get off their high horse.. reality is movies are like this now get over it and quit being so sensitive.. man.. I enjoyed this movie and i would say people should rent it.. if you are very easily offended by swearing and a few scenes here and there that are a little graphic then don’t watch it.. the movie is rated ‘R’ for a reason.. so no kids will be watching it unless parents allow them..

    Great movie! Travolta is back!

When I first saw the previews for this movie, I thought, ‘Yeah, that looks cool, but… I really didn’t like Gone in 60 Seconds.’ I didn’t have the chance to see it in the theater, but I did buy the dvd. All I can say is, it was a good thing that I did! Unlike Gone in 60 Seconds, this movie is much more plot oriented. You need to pay attention to this movie to fully understand the plot. I really don’t see how people can say that this plot is confusing. It makes sense as long as you watch and pay attention, just like all movies. Also, the action scenes are just incredible to watch, especially with the dvd that uses 5.1 sound. The ending and the villains motives will shock you! The movie will also cause you to contemplate many things once the movie has ended. By the way, Halle Berry looks amazing in the movie! All in all this movie is just the epitome of cool, and it was definately one of the better action movies of 2001. Finally Travolta is back at what he does best. As a side note, this is a hell of a lot better then BATTLEFIELD EARTH,which by the way was not as bad as everyone said it was. I really think that you should see this, I don’t think that you will be dissapointed.9/10 Great.

    “X-Men” Plot Summary

Two mutants come to a private academy for mutants whose resident superhero team must oppose a powerful mutant terrorist organization. add synopsis

An Amazing Movie–Magneto is Da Bomb!

Enter Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Enter Ian McKellen as Magneto. Enter Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier. Enter Halle Berry as Storm. With a cast like that, how could any movie go wrong! The answer: IT CAN’T! I fell hook-line-and-sinker for this movie the moment I saw how awesome Magneto’s metal-warping powers were portrayed. This movie doesn’t limit his powers at all, allowing him to snatch hundreds of bullets out of thin air simultaneously and use a small metal plate to cross huge open chasms! Last but certainly not least is the fact that Magneto is portrayed by, as far as I am concerned, one of the greatest actors of all time–Ian McKellen. While McKellen’s masterful role as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings was undoubtedly his crowning achievement, McKellen’s portrayal of Magneto is a close second. He is charismatic, domineering, and yet has a shed of humanity left in him–a remnant of what he once was. I don’t mean to spend so much time on Magneto (and I normally don’t like villainous characters that much), but there is just no way around it. Magneto made the movie. Certainly, Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine contributed greatly as well, and Halle Berry’s portrayal of Storm was flawless. Overall, this movie is the whole package. Don’t miss it!

    “Last Boy Scout” Plot Summary

A down and out cynical detective teams up with a down and out ex-quarterback to try and solve a murder…

    Best Movie Ever !!!

Yeah it’s true, this movie is the one I like most of all I’ve ever seen in my life (and believe me, I’ve seen a lot of movies). No minute passes without a cool saying of Bruce or something been blown up. It’s the kind of movie where you can’t run away to toilet because you know something is going to happen the next second. Bruce Willis plays the perfectly cynical Joe Hallenbeck who has to investigate the murder of Jimi Dix’ (Damon Wayans) girlfriend. But the motive reaches up to an influential politician and the owner of a football team.

Actually the plot isn’t really important in this movie, it’s rather the cool appearance of Joe Hallenbeck, whose sayings are extremely funny, and Jimi who tries to be like Joe. I read somewhere that it is the movie with the most sayings, on which I can only agree. It is like ‘The Rock’ or ‘Die Hard’, only better. If you liked those you will love ‘The Last Boy Scout’. If you’ve never watched it: Shame on you!! Go get it at the local video store! (but watch out for the uncut version, because else you miss the best scene)

“X-Men: The Last Stand” Movie Review

    “X3″ Plot Summary

When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier’s former ally, Magneto. add synopsis

a different direction than the previous 2 movies but fantastic none the less

I LOVED the movie… I’m from Scotland and it was released here 25th may 2006. I just couldn’t BELIEVE the effects that happened, but to be honest the story could have been much better. I don’t like how the phoenix story is explained as it is clearly made that jean becomes the phoenix at the end of xmen 1… (for you ppl that don’t know, it’s supposed to be when magneto’s statue of liberty/mutant creator/thing is supposed to turn everyone into mutants that the phoenix force is to come into contact with jean, therefor, that is how we see her gasping/shocked after it is destroyed), not that it has simply been a part of her for the whole time since Xavier and magneto met her as is explained in xmen 3! The story line in the movie jumps from character to character without much inter loop. It can jump from one scene to the other but you can still figure out where the story is going. One thing that really got me was the fact that in one scene, kitty pryde is an innocent student taking part in a classroom discussion with Xavier, and the next after his parting, she is suddenly a main character in a room with iceman, storm, wolverine and beast. Where is the gradual trust/bond that is made up through the previous 2 movies that makes the characters an ‘x-man’? It’s obviously missed with this movie and throws kitty straight into the limelight which was slightly disturbing (just like the fact that she takes it upon herself to save the mutant at the source of the ‘cure’).I would love to go into detail about the movie as so many things remain unanswered but I can’t spoil it for the other fans who are yet to see it. All I have to say is be prepared to laugh, cry and deal with the demise/rise of certain characters in this movie. They certainly came as a shock to me, even after reading rumours circling the web about their story in the movie, I certainly wasn’t prepared for the demise of a few characters and the hurt that was shown by the others. All in all, a FANTASTIC movie that has to be seen by not only x-men fans, but by all to complete this ’supposed trilogy’.The ending of the film (the effects and the powerful end to one of the characters knocked me for six completely!), and by all means, the clip that was shown to me after the end credits also took me by surprise. Like I said ’supposed trilogy’ could make it into a 4-some. I’ve heard certain rumours about different end credits shown to different ppl and the one I was shown featured Moria McTaggart and her patient…. If it’s true, I would like to see the ‘jean grey/phoenix’ ending to the movie, just so it can relate to the comics and build up a story for the 4th xmen movie… but then again.. I think the probability of that is slim to none

From seeing the ‘Moria McTaggart’ ending and hearing about the ‘Jean Grey ending’, I would have LOVED if both were shown and they were intersected to create the 4th x-men movie, but that all depends on how well this movie does at the box office and how well the fans receive it

I hope and dream for someone to announce X-Men 4 so the story can continue, but with certain characters gone, it may not be entirely possible. It’s up to us, the fan’s, to make X-Men 3 a success and for others to make X-Men 4 a possibility….. Here’s hoping we can continue the story and resurrect/reclaim the characters’ demise in X-Men 3 to be a powerful resurrection to success for a hopeful X-Men 4.

    “Magnolia” Movie Review

    “Magnolia” Plot Summary

An epic mosaic of several interrelated characters in search of happiness, forgiveness, and meaning in the San Fernando Valley.

An extraordinarily moving and serious film

Magnolia is an extraordinarily moving and serious film. Its central concern is the question of what happens when people who have done bad things go unpunished in life. The two people in question Earl Partridge and Jim Gator are both being claimed by cancer ‘early’ but also after very prosperous and well-respected lives. They have both damaged their children one by direct abuse, which the film represents with unparalleled honesty and success and the other by leaving him to nurse his dying mother. Claudia Gator and Frank Mackie express this damage in their everyday lives and remain solidly opposed to reconciliation with their dying fathers. These relationships are reflected in a third abusive father-child relationship, which is still at its outset that between Stanley the child prodigy and his father, who violently exploits his son for gain on a child quiz show. Stanley’s possible future is mirrored in the life of ex-quiz quid Donnie Smith, who has been broken by his early ’success’ and is a figure of fun and hopelessness. The culmination of the film is Stanley going to his father’s bedside and delivering the words ‘Dad, you need to be nicer to me’. We are therefore left with the hope that either following a reform of his father’s behaviour or more likely through Stanley’s new found strength of character, Stanley will be saved from the permanent damage we see in Donnie, Frank and Claudia. The foil for this action is Jim Kurring, a policeman who seeks to do good. Against the backdrop of the other characters, his optimism and moral compass seem strongly tempered by naivety. He is also religious, which while it is not condemned is clearly not a solution for the other characters in the film. But his agency is still the main motor for good in the film. In the closing scene we see him providing the beginning of a rehabilitation to Claudia, which is a strongly positive closing note even if there is still along way to go for her. He also lets Donnie off a criminal charge, and we hope that Donnie will respond to this kindness by recognising the problems confronting him and beginning to take hold of his life. In these respects he is the main agency for good in the film. He does not, however, interact with the other ‘victims’ Frank and Stanley. Stanley begins to act as his own saviour. Frank is the least likely to undergo a serious reform or rehabilitation but we do at least see him weeping, which is an advancement on his previous behaviour. This is not the ‘nom (sic) plus ultra of pretentiousness and self-satisfied smugness’ or ‘a relatively unique vision’. This is real art, which examines human relationships with profound intelligence and honesty. There is not ‘much to admire and to cherish’ here: there is much to learn. It is natural for humans, as animals, to put themselves first in certain situations. But selfishness can cross a line when those on the receiving end are left with little hope of ever becoming functional people, let alone happy. The film challenges viewers to reach into their lives and ask which of their own relationships contain these elements. If a viewer empathizes with the parents, they are forced to confront the lifelong consequences of selfish parenting on a younger generation, as well as the non-forgiveness these parents are confronted by before death. But if a viewer empathizes with the children, he or she is also immediately forced to confront the basic humanity of the parent-perpetrators, as well as their obvious fallibility. This is most touchingly evident in Earl Partridge’s second wife falling in love with him for the first time on his deathbed. Depending on their age, they may empathize with both parents and children hence the final song, sung in part by all of the characters, with the chorus line ‘It’s not going to stop till you wise up’. The last line adds ‘ so just give up’, not as a serious incitement but as a challenge to continue. It is a challenge that intelligent viewers will take up.

    “Robots” Movie Review

    “Robots” Plot Summary

In a robot world, a young idealistic inventor travels to the big city to join his inspiration’s company, only to find himself opposing its sinister new management.

    Robin was best

Robin Williams was truly the star of the show. Robots was able to give him a leash to run with and explore his comic talent. He went wild with no ‘restrictions’ to hold him back. It was a role that allowed him to be a free spirit with his character and show off his real talent. Many people will disagree with me stating that his ‘acting’ was over the top but it was a release for him and he went wild with the part. The other actors tried their best to keep up with him with quirks and little jokes but nothing kept up to the level of Robin. Fender is his best role in the sense of comic relief. The Genie in Aladdin provided the release back then.

    “X2: X-Men United” Plot Summary

The X-Men band together to find a mutant assassin who has made an attempt on the President’s life, while the Mutant Academy is attacked by military forces.

    brilliant

Bryan Singer, an incredible director, took the characters and spun the story into something beautiful. Alan Cumming’s ‘NightCrawler’ was a revelation and the subtext of accepting homosexuality/being a latent Mutant was beyond great. The coming out seen with iceman and his family is phucking exceptional and Wolverine claiming he’s their art teacher was perfect comedy. The brian cox character was greatly cast as was the ever so phucking beautiful Kelly Hu…The opening of this film set the tone and the movie took off running and never once slowed down. Seeing Bryan and his crafty ways of revealing characters from future films by threading them in was seamless and eloquent. I am truly disappointed that Bryan’s name is not attached to the third, i feel as though superman is going to be a superdud and he should’ve stuck with this.
