“The Nightmare Before Christmas” Plot Summary

Jack Skellington, king of Halloweentown, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept. add synopsis

One of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen!

I remember when I was in 3rd grade I became obsessed with ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. I remember telling my friends at school my own ’stories’ of some of the characters. To this day, I still love it

Everything about this movie is excellent, great, beautiful, every positive word you can think of. The songs, the animation, the characters, everything! Let’s start with some of them

The songs are excellent and they should’ve been nominated for an Oscar for Best Songs, and it should’ve won! My favorite song is Sally’s Song, which is just too gorgeous for words. I also love This is Halloween, Kidnap the Sandy Claws (that song is hilarious), and Oogie Boogie Man, which reminds me of a Ray Charles song

The characters are great, too. Jack, who is wise and independent; Sally, who is gorgeous, sweet, and kind; the Mayor, who’s chatty and talkative; Lock, Shock, and Barrel, who are mischievous but friendly; Dr. Finkelstein, who’s usually grumpy all the time; and of course, the Oogie Boogie Man, who’s evil

The animation is gorgeous, not like anything else I’ve seen. The movie was made in the early ’90s and it has the most spectacular animation of any animated movie made in the ’90s! This has been one of my favorite animated movies for a long time and it still is. In fact, when I get older and have a career in show business, I’ll release an album where I sing songs from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. You’ll soon see! This is a great movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. Great job, Tim Burton!

    “The Stepford Wives” Movie Review

    “The Stepford Wives” Plot Summary

What does it take to become a Stepford wife, a woman perfect beyond belief? Ask the Stepford husbands, who’ve created this high-tech terrifying little town, in a very modern comedy-thriller.

    Colorful and comical remake.

Frank Oz’s remake of the classic 1975 thriller may be critically bashed by some, but is actually a very entertaining re-envisioning

Fired business woman moves to a small Conneticut village with her family, where she learns that the local housewives are acting very strangely

The Stepford Wives 2004 is one of the most cleverly done remakes around. Rather than try to capture the expectations of the original film, this remake looks at the already-familiar story in a whole new light as a dark comedy. Even more effective is the fact that this is a truly funny and well-written dark comedy! The direction is lavishly good, the film has some wonderful sets, a great music score, and a very stylish credit sequence

The great cast is yet another highlight. Lovely Nicole Kidman does an excellent performance as usual. While supporting cast Broderick, Midler, Close, Walken, and Bart make for some nicely colorful characters

Just why so many people dislike this film I don’t know, but it’s a remake that is worth being viewed before being judged. Some have come to like this version better than the original film.*** 1/2 out of ****

When a litter of dalmatian puppies are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the parents must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement.

    fun for the whole family

i really enjoyed this animated Disney classic.it’s just a lot of fun.lots of action and excitement, and an excellent choice for the villain in Cruella Devil.whose is iconic(or should be)in my opinion.very young children may be a bit frightened of her,as she certainly is scary looking.her 2 henchman are quite inept, and provide a lot of comic relief.i also really liked the voice acting.i thought it fit well with the characters.the animation is also good, considering it is from 1961,though i’m sure it took a few years before that to complete.anyway,in my opinion, this classic is good fun for the whole family.my vote for 101 Dalmatians is an 8/10

The Best Sequel since Friday the 13th

So far this is the best sequel I’ve seen since 1981. Friday the 13th was the last time I’ve seen a sequel that in some ways was better than it is original. That’s saying something considering that Friday the 13th was a three star classic. Halloween and Scream had good sequels no mistake about that, but it doesn’t have the same impact that Saw 2 and Jason part 2 had in developing a separate identity from the first entry. Saw 2 really didn’t disappoint in finding an identity. Actually the identity was found in this version. The first Saw was sick and it’s only horror competition is the lackluster wannabe the Ring and Grudge series. I’m a horror fan and it’s been hard to find a scary movie ever since the start of the 1980s. The best films came out of the 70s and the only successful horror franchises that could actually scare somebody was Friday the 13th and Scream bar none. I like Saw because it’s a cult flick that doesn’t give a damn and it’s unique with a dark camera. Its about time we’ve had a series that separates itself from the ghost era those movies couldn’t even pay me to be scared. Saw could be the next big thing since Scream and could easily represent the 2000s as a horror heel. If you’re looking for that next big series that catches your attention and I don’t mean The Fog, which in ways was a great flick don’t look any further than Saw, which out does itself. Grade A from me most definitely.

    “Air Force One” Plot Summary

Hijackers seize the plane carrying the President of the United States and his family, but he (an ex-soldier) works from hiding to defeat them.

    A Great Thriller!

Air Force One is a very good thriller. The action and suspense will be nothing to forget. This movie is about the President’s plane, Air Force One being hijacked by Russian nationalists with the President on board. Now it’s up to the President and the Vice-President to negotiate with the terrorists or the hostages will die. The acting in this film is pretty good. Harrison Ford did justice with his outstanding performance as the President. Gary Oldman is good as the evil terrorist. The music in this film is fabulous and patriotic considering that the score took two weeks by Jerry Goldmith to compose. I liked the effects in this film. There is nothing special, but for a film from 1997, this has good effects even though there are few. Overall, this is a good movie for everybody except for kids. This film is a moving picture with outstanding courage. My rating is 10/10.

    “Mars Attacks” Plot Summary

The Earth is invaded by Martians with irresistible weapons and a cruel sense of humor.

    Good fun

It may be silly, but that was the intention. Special effects work well and were state of the art in 1996 and surprisingly still hold up just fine. Some witty writing too. Contains some truly laugh out loud moments .. and nowadays that is a rarity. Nice to see Pierce Brosnan being silly, something which he should do more (works well, as soon to be seen in the Matador). Sarah Jessica Parker had not yet found her stride in this movie, but works OK. Jack Nicholson is, well, Jack Nicholson. Definitely a nice retro 50s style self depreciating science fiction movie. It may work better with people in their 30s and above as they remember actually watching the reruns of 50s movies :) Is that why it hasn’t got a higher score on here as younger viewers don’t get the in-jokes? Enjoy!

    “Apocalypse Now” Movie Review

    “Apocalypse Now” Plot Summary

During the on-going Vietnam War, Captain Willard is sent on a dangerous mission into Cambodia to assassinate a renegade Green Beret who has set himself up as a God among a local tribe.

    Truly a Masterpiece

Somewhere on IMDb there is a discussion about the greatest director of all times (Spielberg, Copolla and others are named there). The greatest argument was around Spielberg and whether he is or isn’t a great director. The problem with Spielberg is that while he is a master technician, most of his films lack depth

Saving Ryan is really outstanding from a technical point of view, but its message is dull and while its very entertaining, it doesn’t make you think about anything. AN is the best movie I ever saw because it combines great shooting with a deep philosophical perspective on so many things, starting from war in general, the clash of civilizations, the condition of soldier in wartimes (is a soldier a hero or an assassin? Brando says he is neither, the french lady says he is both …) and many others. The problem with some people is that they try to argue about whether these points are true or false. But a great movie, and a great piece of art in general is supposed to spark arguments, not to solve them … Maybe Coppola is right, or maybe he isn’t, nobody holds the truth anyway. You can watch this movie for its outer beauty, amazing scenes, great acting and memorable quotes and you will be entirely satisfied. But what really make this movie a masterpiece is its inner quality. You can’t help but make a comparison with the recent Fahrenheit documentary

Both Copolla and Moore tackle similar issues, but while Copolla presents matters from an outside , objective point of view, Moore takes a very partisan position that really compromises the whole point of a documentary … It is really a shame that a film like Fahrenheit 9/11 won a prestigious award like Cannes. But anyway, if you want to start to understand a little of the Vietnam war, the Iraq war, the second World War and any war in general, you should definitely see this movie, and not the other one …

The Best Movie I Have Ever Seen.

I saw Fatal Attraction at the movie theater when I was only 8 years old. That was in 1988. I saw it I know three times. To this day it is the best movie I have ever seen. The little girl Ellen was so cute and articulate. Michael Douglas gave his finest performance to date. Plus, I did just love Glenn Close’s hair. This is just absolutely a terrific movie to see with your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend. Anyone that has not seen this wonderful drama should see it. I have the videotape. It is a keeper. You will wonder why Anne Arhcer’s character stayed with her husband in the end. The bathtub scene will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is thrilling to say the least. I am 24 years old now; and it is unequivocally the best movie my eyes has ever witnessed.

    “101 Dalmatians” Plot Summary

A woman kidnaps puppies to kill them for their fur, but various animals then gang up against her and get their revenge in slapstick fashion. add synopsis

    Sweet, Family Friendly Movie

This movie, is a pretty good live action remake of the classic animated film. Some really veteran actors on the cast. Glenn Close is simply amazing as Cruella De Vil, not only scary (to kids) but also very funny. Hugh Laurie and Mark Williams are probably the two funniest characters on the cast, they are simply amazing. Jeff Daniels is funny in the beginning, with him going into the lake, but as the film goes on his character gets more serious. Same with Joely Richardson. Of course, and then there are the animals, who play the biggest roles. I can’t imagine the amount of training that had to be done with the animals for this film. They are just amazing in this film, and you see more then dogs in this movie

Overall, this is just a plain innocent family film. You will laugh your head off in some of the scenes. Very wonderful, a must see.

    Love it !

Love the cast first of all. From Maggie Smith a goddess in my eyes to Dustin Hoffman and Robin William to a strange inclusion of Phil Collins. They all fit in well together so well. A magical story of Hook which take me into a wonderful fantasy land of what kids should dream about. This superb production should not be pulled down, for it is essentially a children’s film but I love it. My kids thinks I am a big kid but I don’t care. Julia Roberts as Tinks id Fab ! I am not the biggest fan of Robin Williams but I do like his portrayal of Peter Pan

A magical movie for the entire family
