“American Pie 2″ Plot Summary

The continuing bawdy adventures of a group of friends reuniting after their first year of college. add synopsis

American Pie 2

It is almost as good as the first one, with all the teenagers from American Pie reunited after graduating from college. Jim (Jason Biggs) has heard from Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) that she is coming to see him, so he seeks ’sex’ advice from his prom date Michelle (Alyson Hannigan). Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) is still an idiot and still trying to be friends with Vicki (Tara Reid). Oz (Chris Klein) is speaking to Heather (Mena Suvari) on the phone, they even have short phone sex. Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is still obsessed with Stifler’s Mom (Jennifer Coolidge) ever since prom, and Stifler (Seann William Scott) is still the loud and hilarious jock. Anyway, the basic story is they rent a beach house and spend summer there, and eventually do a party that they will never forget. My favourite bit is Jim gluing himself to ‘himself’ (his penis). Filled with more good laughs and more short scenes with Jim’s Dad (Eugene Levy), this is a good sequel. Good!

    “American Wedding” Movie Review

“American Pie: The Wedding” Plot Summary

The third film in the American Pie series deals with the wedding of Jim and Michelle and the gathering of their families and friends, including Jim’s old friends from high school and Michelle’s little sister.

    A Grand Finale!!!

American Wedding is the funniest film in the American Pie series. Most of the original gang is back to see Jim and Michelle tie the knot. But, the two characters have to overcome a couple of obstacles. One obstacle is making sure Stifler behaves himself. Does he… not really. Stifler throws a bachelor party when Michelle’s parents are supposed to turn up, eats dog crap while saying it’s chocolate, losing the ring, and having sex with Jim’s grandmother. Stifler is by far the most funniest character in the film, especially when he plays nice boy. Jim and his father are funny, too. I liked the part when Jim shaves his privates and throws the shavings out the window and into people’s mouths and wedding cake. The characters are original and hilarious. The acting was great, so was the directing. As with the first two films, there is a great soundtrack. I recommend seeing this grand finale. I rate this film a 10/10.

    “American Pie” Plot Summary

Four teenage boys enter a pact to lose their virginity by prom night. add synopsis

    This is a FUNNY movie!

When I went to the theatre with my boyfriend to see this movie, we both got carded! I couldn’t believe it..her we are 22 & 25 respectively, and we are getting carded for a movie…this one must be really raunchy I thought. I was right! For anyone who liked ‘Something About Mary’, you will definitely like this one. It had me laughing so much, I almost fell off my seat…literally! There is one scene in particular that had me gagging and trying not to throw-up, both from laughing and from the grossness of the scene. There is not much more to say than GO SEE THIS MOVIE with out giving out the details of the movie. You won’t be disappointed!

“Cheaper by the Dozen 2″ Plot Summary

Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt return as heads of the Baker family who, while on vacation, find themselves in competition with a rival family of eight children, headed by Eugene Levy

    Very Good Sequel!

I saw this movie on DVD and I laughed more than I did then the first film. The Bakers return to action but this time, the Bakers decide to take a trip to their old vacation spot. There, they get involved with the rich family and they compete in a tournament. I thought the acting the was great. Steve Martin returns as a goofball and the rest of the Baker gang acted well. The older kids looks more mature and they acted better than the first film. Eugene Levy also cracked me up. He is great as the role of Mr. Murtagh. The script was written well, better than the first film. I recommend this film for everyone especially younger children, but don’t expect this film to be Oscar-worthy. I rate this film a 9/10.

Great Animation, Father-Son Relationship a problem

Right, there were great animations. Astro Boy is a warm, affectionate, likable super hero. Troubling was the father-son relationship. Our 6 and 3 year old were shaken by the father’s attitude towards the boy. I don’t know why the writers decided to take that route in the story. Ambiguous also was the fired scientist on earth and his relationship with the earth kids. It seems the good and bad needs clearer markers so viewers don’t have to worry about how the characters are being perceived and then revealed. Astro was great, the robot personalities and robot fights were great, kid peers good — guess the adult models were the collection of characters that were lacking. Some situations may require some explaining to your kids. There we no suggestive issues or improprieties, as far as I could see.

    “Over the Hedge” Movie Review

    “Over the Hedge” Plot Summary

A scheming raccoon fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him repay a debt of food, by invading the new suburban sprawl that popped up while they were hibernating…and learns a lesson about family himself.

Sometimes the simplest stories make the best films

My low expectations were floored by a great adventure a la DreamWorks a simple adventure about survival in which a raccoon ‘accidentally’ steals and loses all provisions belonging to a ferocious bear, whom then threatens him and demands he replenish every item of food lost within one week or else he will suffer the consequences. Over the Hedge thus sees RJ the raccoon (Bruce Willis) scour the environment in search for goods, a mission that is facilitated when RJ comes across a mismatched family of forest creatures whom he convinces to help him gather the food he needs from the Suburbian residences just over the hedge

The film opens with RJ on a scrat-like adventure after that-one-piece-of-food and he suffers all the detours and diversion that this mission entails. As is the meticulous animation style of DreamWorks, it lacks the rewarding simplicity of Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age) and does not quite achieve the same level of hilarity and laughter that the latter effortlessly elicits. It even mimics the possum playing dead from Ice Age: The Meltdown which evokes more raised eyebrows than anything. At this point I am also noticing that Willis’ voice is much too muzzled and unremarkable to be lent to a protagonist. Although, Nick Nolte makes for a fine bear villain

Soon ‘Over the Hedge’ thankfully abandons mediocrity and completely stuns me with layered humour and an energy that it begins to apply to all aspects in the film, the hyper-active ADHD squirrel Hammy most of all. It spirals into an enjoyable romp evenly peppered with 1) goofy light laughs for kids (courtesy of Hammy the squirrel), 2) balanced gags-for-all such as the hilarious zealot exterminator who botches his way through the tracking down of the pesky vermin and 3) sophisticated humour and interwoven references from Citizen Kane, A Streetcar Named Desire and Dr Phil. It is a perfect amalgam of different sorts of comedy and blends and balances its content with deft strokes. Granted, the story neatly ticks off cliches from a formula but it does so skillfully

Indeed there is a surprising amount of sophistication to be found when you weed through all the standard spoofs. Specifically the film directs social commentary on humans’ and animals’ eating habits as RJ remarks how ‘We eat to live. Humans live to eat.’ It juxtaposes these lifestyles when the forest family teams up to assault the neighbourhood in which larger-than-life boxes and packets of nachos, donuts and popcorn are abundant and the shiny silver fridge is Mecca. In the midst of the food-heists there is much action to be found in the form of vibrant, kinetic chases, shooting rockets and acrobatic stunts over the hedge. It is even a bit chaotic toward the end but a great slow-motion capture ties the pacing together

The aforementioned render ‘Over the Hedge’ a very alive film and its action alone rightfully vaults it into ‘Great Animated Comedies’ status. It is no Shrek, but it’s extremely enjoyable. Like Shrek however, DreamWorks provides for the crisp, aesthetically-intoxicating animation of nature whose every screenshot is so picturesque that you just want to snap a picture of, frame and hang in on your wall. What’s more is that its heist-oriented core with its mandatory sense of immediate danger tingling in the air is something of what Mike Tyson was the boxing in the 1980’s: A safe bet.8 out of 10
