“The Day After Tomorrow” Movie Review

“The Day After Tomorrow” Plot Summary

A climatologist tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. He must get to his young son in New York, which is being taken over by a new ice age.

    Very Good Film!

This film is one of the better films of this decade. The best part of the film is the effects. They were utterly amazing. Dennis Quaid and Jake G. are father and son who gets caught in the worst storm the earth has seen since the last ice age. They battle their strengths and weaknesses to survive this storm. As I mentioned above, the effects were outstanding. I liked the tornadoes in LA part the best. The acting is superb especially with Quaid. Not to sound so political, the theme is a real-life issue. Global warming is a big problem with the earth’s environment. I am surprised about all the negative reviews about this film. I guess critics dislike just about everything these days. I recommend this film to everyone. I rate this film a 10/10.

    “Vantage Point” Movie Review

    “Vantage Point” Plot Summary

The attempted assassination of the American President is told and re-told from several different perspectives.

    Fun Crime Thriller

I really liked this movie for what it was. I’m not really sure what other people were expecting to give it what I believe to be unfair and too harsh critiques, but this is a good movie. It is not perfect, nor is it great, nor did it show me something I have never seen before, but it is a nice little crime thriller done in a unique manner

I have read that a lot of people felt that it was boring to see the same story played out over and over. But wasn’t that the point of this film? We knew that was going to be the case coming into this movie. And the thing of it is is that there is enough different in each perspective where it is not a bore to see the same instance multiple times. I liked how it was up to the viewer to try to piece things together and figure out exactly what happened and who the culprit really is. This is a good movie if you are not looking for anything great or mind blowing. I do enjoy when I see a great, mind blowing film, but I’m not expecting it every time that I sit down to watch a movie. I do not see any reason to dislike this movie. It’s good for what it is and if you’re in the market for an entertaining, ‘who dunnit?’ crime thriller I say ‘Vantage Point’ makes for a fun watch.

    “Dragonheart” Movie Review

    “Dragonheart” Plot Summary

The last dragon and a disillusioned dragonslaying knight must cooperate to stop an evil king who was given partial immortality.

    Brilliant!

An awesome adventure that lets you forget it’s fantasy – it’s as powerful & exciting as the dragons! Bowen (Dennis Quaid) is a knight of the Old Code of Camelot (needless to say, it’s good & honorable), & teaches it to his student, Prince Einon. But during a rebellion, cruel King Freyne is killed – & Einon is wounded badly. Bowen & Queen Aislinn (Julie Christie) visit a famous, wise dragon who donates 1/2 his heart to let Einon live, after his vow that he’ll be a merciful king, unlike his father. But after Einon heals, he enslaves the villagers to work for him, & scorns Bowen’s beliefs. Bowen is enraged at the dragon’s polluting his soul, & vows to hunt him down. 12 years later, he hasn’t found his prey but has made up for it by killing every he finds. Then he meets Draco (Sean Connery), the world’s last dragon, who’s determined to put up a fight. As an alternative to fighting a stalemate battle, Bowen agrees to ’slay’ Draco for $. Draco reveals dragons are gentle & don’t attack unless provoked. Meanwhile, Einon falls in love w/Kara, the girl who accidentally injured him, after he kills her father. Aislinn helps her escape, knowing what it’s like to be a tyrant’s wife. Kara is the 1 person in the village brave enough to fight Einon (Except Bowen, but he’s too bitter to bother w/him anymore), & when she meets Bowen & Draco, she persuades him to join her in a fight. Now, along with the village rebels & Brother Gilbert, a hilariously pinheaded monk, they set out to change their lives – though Draco has a secret about Einon that could cause the difference between winning & losing. The animation here is great – it seems real, just like the characters. It’s exciting & will keep you hooked till the end. I’d recommend it to an adventure-lover.

    “Pandorum” Movie Review

    “Pandorum” Plot Summary

A pair of crew members aboard a spaceship wake up with no knowledge of their mission or their identities.

    Amazing! Totally unexpected!

I went into this film not knowing much about it to be honest. I was really only interested in it when I heard it was set in space. This film is one of the most terrifying action/horror/sci-fi movies I have seen in a very long time, but that’s not the best part! The best part is the intriguing story with some amazing twists! Some are obvious and at least one is just completely unexpected, but none of them feel overly typical. Ben Foster is really really good in this and I must say that he is getting much better at picking roles, with 3:10 to Yuma and now this! One thing that really stuck out to me also, was how much some of it reminded me of the game Dead Space, don’t read into that too much as far as story goes, it’s just that there are a few elements that I think were inspired by the game, and if you have played Dead Space, I think you will know what I mean when you see it. This movie was good, really good, and finally gave me the space horror/fiction fix I have been craving since the last good space movie, Sunshine, by Danny Boyle. Go see this movie!

“G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” Movie Review

    “G.I. Joe” Plot Summary

An elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer. |

    Pure action

I can understand why people hate it. I mean the acting is just about average and the actors do not always fit in their roles but the movie is fun. I know that modern movies put so much effort in having great special effects and good action and sometimes forget that the actors need to act and the script to make sense. Well this movie had almost everything that they needed. They had money, some talented actors, a director that had done some good work in the past and a great chance to make it work. 170 million dollars are a lot of money. Well for me the action was great and the special effects to and that was enough for me because that is what I expected, not some award winning performances from the lead actors and if you don’t think to much about the plot holes you do not notice them as much. So to sum it up, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a fun movie that is just what it is, an action filled, adrenalin full movie.
