“Transformers” 2007 by Michael Bay – Movie Review
If you think that good battle-robots Autobots and bad battle-robots Decepticons have landed on our dearest planet Earth in 2007 – you’re strongly mistaken. Because they came to our world in the times of the notorious Moscow Olympiad-80, when suddenly bubble-gum and coca-cola appeared in Moscow for the first time. Although the robots landed not in Moscow but in Japan. That is where these amusing robots-transformers were invented. They were the models of different automobiles which then could be transformed into battle robots.
The American toy company Hasbro got interested in these toys and bought the rights to produce them in the US. Interested in the American toy company Hasbro, and then bought the rights to their production in the States. Due to the fact that they approach marketing in the USA with all the possible seriousness. That’s why these nameless by the time auto-robots received their personal names. Which is more, they received a whole history explaining which planet they came form and what they do here. Well, and thirdly, the whole comics industry started hard work on creating the epci story of the planet Cybertrone on which the good robots Autobots under the leadership of brave General Optimus Prime (originally it was Prime Time but later reduced to simply Prime) are fighting against the bad robots Decepticons headed by an treacherous Megatron.
Thus, everyone was happy: Hasbro sold megatons of transformers, the Marvel company produced mountains of comics, and Sunbow Production crafted animated cartoons about the adventures of elusive Autobots behind the Decepticons’ enemy line. In the end Sunbow even produced full-length animated film “Transformers” in which Autobots and Decepticons arrive on Earth and start all kinds of battles, while a guy named Spike is helping our folks Autobots. But the movie was a failure. Why? Either due to the fact that there were too many robots and too few people, or due to the fact that the kids already got fed up with transformers – it is hard to say. After that the Transformers have almost disappeared – people lost interested in them. The new type of heroes has settled in the kids’ hearts – Spiderman, Pokemons and the like, resulting in the transformers being forgotten in the far corners of dusty garages. Nobody was interested in the fate of the planet Cybertron anymore.

However, in the mid-nineties Hasbro managed to revive the interest in the transformers. They invented a new concept: robots can now be transformed into animals. After that when the creators imagination started to blossom with new models, the kids’ interest woke up again, resulting in creating fan-communities which could fiercely argue upon which transformer is more cool – a hamster/crocodile or eagle/ram type.

“Kung Fu Panda” Movie Review
“Kung Fu Panda” Plot Summary
In the Valley of Peace, Po the Panda finds himself chosen as the Dragon Warrior despite the fact that he is obese and a complete novice at martial arts.
Exceptionaly visual, funny, action packed and intelligent movie for all ages.
One of the best comedy movies I’ve seen, this animation feature is both packed with action and intelligent at the same time. It’s yet another variation on ‘You can do anything if you believe in yourself’ and carries strong morale and educational message. But the way it’s done, the incredible visual side of the story, as well as the dialogs, is just exceptional. You can’t but love the fat Panda boy who’s dreaming about being the greatest warrior of all China only to wake up to the reality of hawing to serve noodle soup in his father’s shop. Unlike his father, who also dreamed but never found the courage to act on it, Panda follows his calling and by ‘luck’ get chosen to be the legendary Dragon warrior by the Kung-Fu grand master, the old turtle, to defeat the evil tiger. That’s when his training and troubles start. It’s really for anyone between 3 and 100 and I laughed and loved it from the titles in the beginning to the very end. Much recommended.

“Pretty Woman” Plot Summary
A man in a legal but hurtful business needs an escort for some social events, and hires a beautiful prostitute he meets… only to fall in love.
A winning romantic comedy.
Garry Marshall may not be the most interesting director working in Hollywood, but his movies are definitely entertaining, and in that sense he is successful. Perhaps his two greatest films, which also are the ones he’ll most likely be remembered for, are ‘Beaches’ and ‘Pretty Woman’. One of the most commercially successful (almost $500m worldwide!!) romantic comedies of all time,’Pretty Woman’ is a charming modern day fairy tale that works largely in part to the phenomenal on-screen chemistry between its two stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. In an Academy Award nominated performance as Vivian Ward, Julia Roberts truly shines. Her screen presence is nothing short of radiating, not to mention she’s a highly skilled comedic actress. The film also owes a lot to its equally strong supporting performances from Jason Alexander, Laura San Giacomo and Hector Elizondo. All cliches aside, it’s highly enjoyable and stands up superbly even after repeated viewings, a definite 10/10.

“Frida” Plot Summary
A biography of artist Frida Kahlo, who channeled the pain of a crippling injury and her tempestuous marriage into her work. add synopsis
Incredible eyebrow woman
Throughout the entire film I was unable to avert my gaze from the bushy forehead of the amazing ‘woman with one eyebrow’ – and nowhere on the net can I find a photograph of Frida Kahlo with such an impressive hedgerow plastered across her face. Why it was felt necessary to portray her thus, is a mystery to me. It may seem trivial, but it really did detract from what is essentially an immense performance
Hayek excels, and definitely makes the movie more palatable for mainstream audiences who may not be interested in the social and artistic merits of what is an important historical era. She is ably assisted by the talented Molina, and the beautiful sets and photography are a fitting tribute to the story of one quite amazing woman
So even if you think art is bunkum and history is naff, I think you will enjoy this sad but uplifting tale of a beautiful, spirited and unforgettable woman. Surely a must-see for any cinema buff.

Cool Movie
I really enjoyed watching this film with my family. Granted it wasnt as good as the first but none the lees it was funny. Keenen Ivory Wayans is a good director and knows what the audiance wants. To see him make fun of movies such as Charlies Angels, The Haunting, and The Excersist, was well worth my time to watch this movie.

“Coraline & The Secret Door” Plot Summary
An adventurous girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets.
Wonderfully animated; basically a ‘modern’ fairy tale…
If you like fairy tales, you will love this movie. This film has everything: story, funny characters, entertaining dialog, good scenes, beautiful animation and a nice moral
I loved Coraline. It’s a very kind, but also mysterious movie about a young girl who, by pure curiosity, travels to a parallel dimension of her house. There she meets her ‘other mother’ and ‘other father’. Everything is fantastic and everyone seems so nice. However, after awhile it becomes clear that a dark power is trying to lure Coraline away from her real family…There’s so much to tell about this movie, but I think it’s best that you go watch it yourself, before I spoil too much. Coraline is truly a wonderfully animated gem. It’s a movie you will watch again and again over the years, maybe as an annual tradition! 9 out of 10 stars!

“Ocean’s Twelve” Movie Review
“Ocean’s 12″ Plot Summary
Daniel Ocean recruits one more team member so he can pull off three major European heists in this sequel to Ocean’s 11.
A brilliant satire of the heist movie… I think.
I sat for a couple hours after seeing Ocean’s Twelve trying to figure out why Soderbergh and gang had made such an outrageous film. Too much of it didn’t add up: the ridiculous laser system guarding the egg in the museum and the equally ridiculous way in which it was defeated; the flashbacks containing information that completely undermined the apparent narrative thrust; Julia Roberts’ plot twist and the avalanche of seemingly nonsensical and irrelevant self-reference that immediately followed; O12 had me completely stumped. Until I re-interpreted these scenes as clues towards something else: that O12 is not, in fact, a heist movie, but a *satire* of the heist movie
Why else would someone of Sod’s stature overstuff the film with cliches, like the enigmatic and debonair master thief, and the colorful and completely trustworthy team of people who would never exist in real life? One character (the woefully underused Eddie Izzard) even overtly mentions that one particular element of the film is a cliche — but he doesn’t say what it is a cliche *of*. Notice all the decoys, impostors, holograms, secret languages… O12 is littered with breadcrumbs, and I’m willing to believe that there was never actually a spec script called ‘Honor Among Thieves.’ As a heist movie, it falls flat on its face, arguably worse than Hudson Hawk (which suffered more from sheer goofiness overload, rather than bewildering nonsense). It simply does not make sense. How did the Night Fox get into that house in Amsterdam? Conveniently not explained. How did Benedict find all of the Twelve at once? Conveniently not explained. How did Julia Roberts’ plot twist work, while Matt Damon is with her but does not experience the same story change? Conveniently brushed off. How in the name of Zeus did a certain someone show up out of the blue while the gang was locked up and help them with a certain problem? How was this individual aware of certain aspects of Isabel Lahiri’s paperwork? An outlandish narrative convenience… or a satire of the genre? Why was so little narrative dedicated to convincing the audience of Benedict’s extremely vindictive motivation? How else do you explain the obvious expenses the thieves racked up in their very quest to make money? I mean, come on, when Damon and the other two remaining thieves start spouting off all the heist jargon as they try to figure out a contingency plan… it’s preposterous. No one talks like that
Maybe I’m reaching. But either way you slice it, O12 is much, much more enjoyable as a *satire* of the heist film. That’s the only way I can understand the film. I know why a sequel was made, certainly: The original made over $450 million dollars worldwide, far and away Sod’s most financially successful film. Its closest competitor is Erin Brockovich, which made a little over $250M worldwide, and Traffic clocks in at a little over $200M. Successful, certainly, but not blockbusters like O11 was. A sequel was as inevitable as death and taxes. So it occurs to me that Sod decided he might as well have fun with it — screw with the audience a little, poke fun at the actors themselves (good naturedly), and they still walked away with about $360M.There also might be a meta-commentary going on about American audiences and how little they catch on to stylistic subversion (I am an American myself, for the record) but it’s pure speculation. All I can tell you is that O12 simply does not work as a straightforward film and can really only be enjoyable as a satire. There’s simply too many outrageous scenes and too many cliches. There are simply too many lines of dialog that only make sense if the whole movie is a genre skewer. It’s also much easier on my brain. And I’d like to think that Sod hadn’t morphed into a cynical robber baron who no longer cared about making a good movie.

Good
Nice, really nice. It has an origin mostly comic but has good special effects. It was inevitable to see negative comments here, is the norm. Cmq a good movie, the environments are good actors suited to the type of film. He certainly part ironic, comic, the environments are very well and the result can be considered as satisfactory. It is a shame that here there are elements that bring more than 7 film ridiculous as the army of darkness and films such as van helsing a miserable 5. Shame! I disagree with the standards is happening here, I am not convinced. In some cases there are good reviews, in other see that there are some ‘too many prejudices against certain films!

“The Darjeeling Limited” Movie Review
“The Darjeeling Limited” Plot Summary
Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other — to become brothers again like they used to be. Their “spiritual quest”, however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray), and they eventually find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. At this moment, a new, unplanned journey suddenly begins. add synopsis
An interesting journey
The Darjeeling Limited follows three brothers on a train journey across India. Suffice to say that in the course of their journey they will be faced with some complications. Things most definitely do not go according to the original plan. And it is in those times where the trip veers off its intended course that the movie is at its best. It’s not really a comedy but the film certainly has some nice comedic moments. There are some good dramatic moments but I don’t think one would label the film a great drama. It’s a journey which more often than not is certainly interesting but which in the end leaves you wanting a little more. For all the great moments, and there are more than a few, it doesn’t quite all add up to a spectacular finished product. It’s a good movie which you feel could have been great but fell a little shy of that standard
Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman play the three Whitman brothers who having not seen one another for a year are now embarking on what Francis, the oldest of the brothers, intends to be a spiritual journey. Francis is obsessive-compulsive to the extreme and his brothers often find him to be more than a touch annoying. But, as played wonderfully by Wilson, Francis comes across as rather endearing. Annoying yes but in an endearing way. The fact that he goes through the whole movie with his head and face heavily bandaged due to a motorcycle accident probably doesn’t hurt in making Francis a sympathetic figure. Brody’s Peter and Schwartzman’s Jack do not immediately appear to have as many obvious quirks as Francis, seeming to be much more ‘normal’. But we will see that Peter and Jack certainly have their own issues to deal with as well. And while if you had to choose one Wilson would be the star of the show both Brody and Schwartzman do excellent work as well
When the journey inevitably veers from its spiritual course is when the movie shines. Seeing the way these three very unique individuals react to one another in trying circumstances is a treat. Some of these moments are wonderfully comedic while other moments are appropriately solemn and serious. This is a train ride full of surprises which allow the brothers to learn a great deal about themselves and in the end maybe about each other. The film does wander at times. For all the good moments there are other times where the film struggles to maintain momentum. And really there isn’t much of a plot to speak of. But while it may be a relatively simple story it is generally an enjoyable one. It must be said that director Wes Anderson has crafted a film which certainly looks amazing. Whether it be the wonderful Indian exteriors or the brilliantly vibrant interiors of the train itself the film always looks terrific. And the three lead actors do the visuals justice, giving excellent performances in bringing this charming story to life. It’s not a perfect film by any means. It’s a movie you’ll embrace more for its moments than for the final product as a whole. There is the nagging sense that it didn’t quite all come together. But all in all the movie works. You could do a lot worse than to take a ride on The Darjeeling Limited.

great one
Excellent movie with lots of new ideas. Such fun to watch funny creatures and all the sticky liquid coming out from the aliens. The combinations of Mr Duchovny and the other are great but some extra do not perform very well such as the scene at with the flying creatures
The last part where the movie almost end, looks so fake on the big huge aliens and that make this story weakness at that part. Other than that, all have been done very well.
