    “Wag the Dog” Plot Summary

Before elections, a spin-doctor and a Hollywood producer join efforts to “fabricate” a war in order to cover-up a presidential sex scandal.

Super but certainly not for all tastes

This is a super-cynical film that is incredibly entertaining, insightful and oh, so jaded! The problem is that although it’s got a brilliant script, the film will only appeal to a small select audience. Die-hard Clinton lovers will NOT appreciate the film as it’s a thinly veiled criticism of the Clinton presidency–particularly since the film is about some completely amoral spin-doctors doing ANYTHING to save the butt of an amoral politician. Clinton lovers probably can’t admit the truth of this aspect of his personality. Die-hard Clinton haters will no doubt love the film. Frankly, I’m rather Libertarian in view and think the nonsense in this film could apply to ANY politician, so those jaded viewers (like myself) will probably appreciate the edgy and dark humor.

    “Apollo 13″ Movie Review

    “Apollo 13″ Plot Summary

True story of the moon-bound mission that developed severe trouble and the men that rescued it with skill and dedication.

    An exciting time

Boys own adventure about the ill fated ‘Apollo 13′ mission which was to follow the successful journey that saw Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the surface of the moon.

Ron Howard deftly recreates the tension, ambition, hope and disappointment which accompanied the crew who dreamed of writing yet another page in ’space race’ history. Ronnie helms with a purpose, never allowing any sidelines or subplots to undermine the story which he skilfully builds to not one, but several nail biting climaxes. Many of us know the story, yet writers John Sayles, William Broyles Jnr. and Al Reinart still manage to entertain us with an involving screenplay which recreates the excitement of the time.

All the technical teams have masterfully brought to life the NASA Space Centre at Cape Kennedy, along with the amazing hardware that goes with it. The take-off sequence is especially well produced thanks to some stunning special effects and clever cinematography (Dean Cundey – who wields with effect throughout the pic).

Tom Hanks convincingly personifies the ambitious dreamer Jim Lovell, sharing with us his trials and his triumphs. In support of him is Bill Paxton (in perhaps his biggest role to date), finally playing a character who is not paranoid, and doing so very well. Kevin Bacon also joins the crew, playing a late replacement for the devastated Gary Sinise, who is ousted due to concerns he may contract the measles. Back at Cape Kennedy, an impressive Ed Harris calls the shots in an Academy nominated role, keeping his feet firmly on the ground, unlike his turn in ‘The Right Stuff’.

James Horner provides a familiar sounding theme.

    “Wedding Crashers” Plot Summary

John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, a pair of committed womanizers who sneak into weddings to take advantage of the romantic tinge in the air, find themselves at odds with one another when John meets and falls for Claire Cleary.

    surprisingly funny

I’m not a guy who usually goes for the gay and sexual humor. This is not because I am a prude, but because these kinds of movies tend to take it too far and just isn’t funny after that point. Wedding Crashers, however, executed this brand of humor perfectly. Another plus that makes this movie an above average comedy is the fact that the comedy did not take away from the plot. Many movies, such as Animal House, go so out of their way to be funny that they forget that movies are meant to tell a story. Wedding Crashers did a great job of keeping the comedy in the realm of a specific plot. Wedding Crashers is a unique and fun movie and I would definitely recommend watching it.

    “Men of Honor” Plot Summary

The story of Carl Brashear, the first African American, then also the first amputee, US Navy Diver and the man who trained him.

    Pretty Good Film!

I think that this film is a good movie. There are some boring parts and some really good parts. Most of the time, I was attached to this movie. Everyone in this movie did a really good job

This film is based on the life of Carl Brashear. He was going to be first at two things. He was going to be the first black Navy diver and the first diver to dive with a prosthetic leg

The acting is really good. I liked Robert De Niro so much. He is a truly deserving actor and he showed what a great actor he is. I liked Cuba Gooding Jr. as Brashear. He gave a memorable performance

Overall, this film is a good movie. Some parts even moved me somewhat especially some scenes towards the end. This is a nice biographical movie. I rate this film 8/10.

    “Madagascar” Movie Review

    “Madagascar” Plot Summary

Spoiled by their upbringing with no idea what wild life is really like, four animals from New York Central Zoo escape, unwittingly assisted by four absconding penguins, and find themselves in Madagascar, among a bunch of merry lemurs add synopsis

    Wonderful…!

A wonderful movie for all ages

This films really follows in the footsteps of recent animated blockbusters as Finding Nemo,Shrek, Monster Inc., The Incredibles, Ice Age etc. The story works very well, and it is obvious that the team behind is people who knows their media. It stays on the same course all the way through, something that really is the essence of the success of the animated films these last years, something other writers can really learn from. And that’s all the comparison I will do, because it really is its own movie

A wonderful thing about it is the references to other movies like The Planet of the Apes and American Beauty. Very obvious references I might add. This also means that the filmmakers are aware that a growing number of gross comes from adult audiences as well, and you then have to assume that the story is written for them as well. The style of the movie is like we are use to in normal cartoons, just put into a new media. And it works very well, you’re always aware of it, and yet you sit and really is in awe of the texture of for instance Marty(Chris Rock). The technique is definitely as is to be expected. Hanz Zimmer, who’s becoming a very well known man within the animated world, does a moderate good job, the music is there and really gives the effects it needs, but is just background. Directing is good, and all the characters works in their own way on the screen but are best together. There’s a huge deal of very well timed jokes and they all somehow seems to work

The characters are very amu… sorry, highly amusing. Chris Rock is almost best as voice(like in Dr. Doolittle), where Ben Stiller although he comes through still is more enjoyable as live action. But both of them are easily identified. Jada Pinkett is a bit to anonymous, and David Schwimmer is just great, although his character wins in being a good background joke. Now for the minor characters, as often with these films, the minor characters gets a way with so much attention they deserve a little more attention. The three penguins are awesome, and is the ideal kick starters for this movie. They deliver almost nothing but laughs. The king of the wild Julien(Mr. Ali G) is fun, although without his sidekick Maurice(Cedric) he would be nothing. And then there’s the two monkeys also very enjoyable. One minor thing is to me that in seems that the Sabletooth tigers from Ice Age seems to have been copy-pasted into this movie for action, a bit sad but nothing that the movie itself doesn’t salvage. I would rank it among the top ten movies of this year, it is very fun and works very well in most ways. 8/10
