“The General’s Daughter” Movie Review

“The General’s Daughter” Plot Summary

When the daughter of a well-known and well-respected base commander is murdered, an undercover detective is summoned to look into the matter and finds a slew of cover-ups at West Point. add synopsis

Better Than Excellent

I grew up in a military family and the first time I watched this film, it was more like a documentary to me than anything. I probably missed half this film in tears the first time I watched it. I’ve watched it now almost 50 times and it never looses it’s luster. Each actor/actress was chosen perfectly for their part…..what a movie, it says everything even on ‘mute’.

    “Shaft” Movie Review

    “Shaft” Plot Summary

New York City police detective John Shaft (nephew of the original 1970s detective) goes on a personal mission to make sure the son of a real estate tycoon is brought to justice after a racially-motivated murder. add synopsis

    I loved it

Shaft was a great movie. The acting was great and everything in this movie was done very well. The story was also very interesting. I think that Christian Bale played an okay villain. If he was more scary and more evil, it would be even better. I am not saying that he did not do a good job as a villain, but he could have been scarier. But it was still a good movie. I also think that Peoples should have been more evil. Other than that it was a great movie. I really liked the car chase in the end. Another thing that I really liked about this movie is that John Shaft was driving one of my favorite cars which is a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. If you like police movies than you will really like Shaft.

    “Basic Instinct” Movie Review

    “Basic Instinct” Plot Summary

A police detective is in charge of the investigation of a brutal murder, in which a beautiful and seductive woman could be involved.

    Excellent, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat mystery/crime/thriller

In my opinion, BASIC INSTINCT is an excellent, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat mystery/crime/thriller. Catherine (Sharon Stone) and Dr. Garner (Jeanne Tripplehorn) were both very beautiful women. The two characters I really couldn’t stand were Roxy (Leilani Sarelle) and Dr. Garner. This was because they were so snobby! Nick (Michael Douglas) was a very attractive, good-looking, strict, and business-like guy in my opinion. I loved his style. The most gruesome and scary part in my opinion was when Johnny Boz (Bill Cable) got murdered. That was almost too gruesome and scary for me to bear, but I managed to sit through it. My favorite part, though, was when Nick yells at Dr. Garner. That was very entertaining. In conclusion, I highly recommend this excellent, nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat mystery/crime/thriller to all you Michael Douglas or Sharon Stone fans who have not seen it.

    “The Postman” Movie Review

    “The Postman” Plot Summary

Post-apocalyptic America. What begins as a con game becomes one man’s quest to rebuild civilization by resuming postal service. add synopsis

    A Movie About Hope

Possible Spoiler, If You Know Nothing About The Movie (8 Stars)This movie like many movies that get bad reviews is longer than most. It’s length may not let most viewers eat, chew gum, and talk at the same time. I liked it the first time I viewed it. It shows that desperate times require strength, courage, and hope. We may some day have a time when we are in dire straits. The World Trade Center September 11, comes to mind

When times are the toughest, someone has to step up to the plate and show courage. This man, the postman gives hope to those who had given up on life. It may be soapy, but it makes me feel good when it’s over. That is part of what watching movies is all about

Other movies that deal with post war situations, the Mad Max movies for the action, Blade Runner for it’s sci-fi, and Dr. Strangelove is my favorite classic movie with both humor and realism all tied up in a perfect package.

    “G.I. Jane” Movie Review

    “G.I. Jane” Plot Summary

A female Senator succeeds in enrolling a woman into Navy SEALS training where everyone expects her to fail. add synopsis

    Better than expected…

I was surprised by this movie. Going in, I was sure this would be a movie designed solely to push the issues of women’s rights and equality of the sexes. Instead, the movie squarely, but fairly, demonstrated the undeniable differences between men and women. Demi Moore was outstanding in this film – in my opinion it was her best role yet. The movie was provocative and exciting. Definitely not a disappointment at all, but a movie the squeamish may want to avoid. There are some mildly graphic scenes. There are also some unforgettable lines!
