    “Scream 2″ Movie Review

    “Scream 2″ Plot Summary

It has been two years since the tragic events at Woodsboro. Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks are trying to get on with their lives… add synopsis

My favorite of the three films.

Two years has passed… the infamous murders at Woodsboro has turned into a movie. Since the novel is written by reporter Gale Wheaters (Courtney Cox). Two college students (Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps) were killed in a sneak peak of a horror movie called ‘Stab’, which is based on Wheaters’ book. Now Sidney (Neve Campbell), Randy (Jamie Kennedy), Dewey (David Arquette), Gale and Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) find themselves in danger. This killer certainly wants something from Sidney, so she’s also putting her boyfriend (Jerry O’Connell) and her two friends (Timothy Olyphant & Elise Neal) in deep trouble as well

Directed by Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left, Shocker) made an truly enjoyable sequel to ‘Scream’ that is even more entertaining and funnier than the original. The script by Kevin Williamson (Cursed, Teaching Miss Tingle) certainly made some truly fun writing about the rules of a sequel. This was just as a blockbusters as the original was. Some film critics (For example the late Gene Siskel) felt the sequel was much better. There’s an amusing film within the film, which those scenes are directed (uncredited) by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids Trilogy, Grindhouse, The Faculty).

The Original DVD has an sharp non-anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and an strong Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD includes Cast & Crew information and the original theatrical trailer. The only flaw in the sequel is the conclusion, which is a bit too much. ‘Scream 2′ has many funny moments as well for suspenseful moments. A good cast certainly helps. Heather Graham, Joshua Jackson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tori Spelling, Luke Wilson and others appears in bit parts. ‘Scream 2′ is certainly one of the better sequels has to offer these days and don’t miss it. Also available in a collector’e edition DVD with anamorphic widescreen, commentary by the filmmakers and more. Panavision. (****/*****).

    “Bedtime Stories” Plot Summary

A family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true.

Pretty good. A fun family movie.

Way better than I thought it’d be. I was expecting total garbage when I saw the movie today, but I was pleasantly surprised. Adam Sandler is very funny in this movie. It’s fun for the whole family. Keri Russell is a very good actress in her role. Those cute little kids that plays Adam’s niece and nephew are good in their roles. Russel brand is good as the best friend. Richard Griffiths is perfect as always in everything he does. The guy that plays Adam’s dad was amazing. I loved his voice over. I enjoyed it very much. My only complaint is that the Guinea Pig jokes were a little much at times. All and all it was a good movie.

“3000 Miles to Graceland” Movie Review

“3000 Miles to Graceland” Plot Summary

A gang of ex-cons rob a casino during Elvis convention week. add synopsis

one of the BEST action movies ever

After watching the trailer, I thought it would be a funny movie, a bit stupid but funny (Costner and Russell as Elvis impersonators are hilarious). What a surprise! What I finally saw is one of the best action movies I’ve seen in a long time. It even has a plot you can follow, doesn’t need bloody guts and severed body parts to be shown in close-up. It is ‘just’ a film about bank robbers, that decided to rob a casino, ‘because everybody else robs banks’. There is a huge shootout and security guards and innocent bystanders drop dead by the dozen. The rivalry between the robbers evolves and finally leads (through some twists)to the showdown between Costner / Russell / dozens of law enforcers. The way Costner portraits the lunatic (actually believing himself to be one of Elvis’ illegitimate children)is just fantastic and worth watching the movie. Russell is also wonderful to watch, as the ex-con who just wants to get enough money to settle down on his boat (nice twist there)and who doesn’t share the enthusiasm of the others for killing. Even Cox as the ‘woman in the middle’ shows a surprisingly good performance. Admittedly, you don’t have to switch on your brain to understand it, but it is really cool to watch, funny and entertaining. If you don’t want to spend any money on a theater ticket, get it on DVD – it’s worth it.

    “The Longest Yard” Plot Summary

Prison inmates form a football team to challenge the prison guards.

    Very funny movie!

I saw this movie last night for the first time and I was laughing my head off from the beginning to the end

IThis movie has a lot of gags and I had to run to the toilet cos I wet myself with laughter and i had to gasp for air cos i was laughing so hard

From reading the negative reviews on this site – I don’t know why people hate this movie? it is so funny! it was one of my favorite movies starring Adam Sandler

I thought the best performances were from Sandler and Rock. This movie is really good but I really like the original movie better

I thought this remake was a lot more funnier than the original

If you love Adam Sandler and Chris Rock then you will love this movie

Def the most funniest movie I have seen in 2010.

I also really liked the soundtrack 10/10 for a great comedy movie

    “Scream” Movie Review

    “Scream” Plot Summary

A psychopathic serial killer is stalking a group of teens just like in the movies!

A fun movie that effectively parodied the slasher genre

Following the big flop ‘New Nightmare’, which was not actually a bad film, Wes Craven came out all guns blazing, armed with a nice script from Kevin Williamson, and made the single biggest movie of his career

The script is a lot of fun with various in jokes, and it doesn’t take long for them to start coming. ‘The first nightmare on Elm Street was good, the rest sucked,’ was an obvious reference to Wes Craven directing the original and not the later ones, Craven later makes a cameo appearance as a janitor named ‘Fred’ wearing a green and red jumper. Several other classic horror films are also referenced including the Exorcist, Friday the 13th, Halloween 1 and 2, Hellraiser, Prom Night, The Howling and Rosemary’s Baby

The plot revolves around Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), a young high Schooler who’s mother was viciously murdered a year or so earlier. Sidney was convinced her mother’s murderer was Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) who was convicted of the crime and is in now in jail. Tabloid news reporter Gail Weathers however, has her doubts and has printed a series of articles and a tell all novel pleading Weary’s innocence. Her theory is given credence as a series of copycat killings, modeled after 80s horror movies, occur. Sidney soon finds herself living in a real life scary movie with no allies and everyone’s a suspect

I find it a bit hard to rate Scream as a slasher film, as I don’t see it as one. I see it as more of comedy thriller, which was successfully marketed as a horror film. Not that it was hard given the many litres of fake blood used in the story or the rather grisly subject matter

On the acting side, Skeet Ulrich easily steals the movie from under the rest of the cast, while Matthew Lillard and Jamie Keneedy are both delights. David Arquette is equal parts annoying and endearing, and Courtney Cox is convincing as a bitch, but not so much as a reporter. Neve Campbell puts in a strong performance as Sidney, while Rose McGowan is under used, and unlikeable in her few scenes. Drew Barrymore’s cameo in the opening ten or so minutes has become an iconic scene in 90s film making, and is some of the best work she has ever done

Craven’s affection for the horror genre has been evident in many of his movies and he does a fine job here of both sending up the genre he helped create, and also redefining it for a modern audience. Well done to Craven and his script writer Kevin Williamson for breathing life back into the slasher genre.

“Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” Movie Review

    “Ace Ventura” Plot Summary

A goofy detective specializing in animals goes in search of a missing dolphin mascot of a football team. add synopsis

    Funny, Funny, Funny

Here it is, folks: the movie that made ‘Jim Carrey’ a household name overnight–’Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.’ Although the movie’s silly, crude, and often very childish, I still love the damn thing to death. It’s a classic. Just one of those movies that you know’s great but can’t accurately describe why. Maybe because Jim Carrey’s the only actor on earth who can pull Ace Ventura off without looking like a complete jackass. Yeah, I think that’s it. Can you think of any other actor on earth who could bend over, talk through his rectum, and still manage being funny and make sense? That’s what Carrey does here. Ace Ventura is obnoxious, but he makes sense and solves complex cases; he’s no idiot. The plot’s pretty good for a silly movie. Ace Ventura is hired by the beautiful Melissa Robinson (Courtney Cox) of the Miami Dolphins to retrieve their missing mascot dolphin–Snowflake

This movie practically made Carrey a superstar overnight. (And even resulted in a funny but inferior sequel entitled–’Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.’) Had this not been made, we’d of never experienced the hilarity of ‘Dumb and Dumber’ or ‘The Mask.’ Jim Carrey’s a comedic genius. I miss the Dumb and Dumber/Mask era, when Carrey was in his prime and never took himself or his audiences too seriously.3 and a half stars
