‘The Terminator 2: Judgment Day’ 1991 – Review

T-1000

T-1000

10 years after the events described in the first Terminator film, Skynet sends back a new, improved Terminator (model T-1000). Its objective is the termination of Sarah Connor’s son – John Connor, which will lead people in the fight against the machines. John Connor, knowing about the plans of Skynet, also sends a Terminator back – reprogrammed T-800 model. He must protect ten year old John from T-1000 …

Trying to retell the plot of Terminator 2 is an ungrateful and useless thing: almost everybody in the world has seen the movie. This film has gained cult status long ago and entered the world’s cinema history as one of the best examples of Sci-Fi action.

For those times, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” has become an incredibly ambitious project: for the first time the budget of the movie exceeds one hundred millionth mark. However, after the success of the first “Terminator”, “Aliens” and “The Abyss” Cameron had a lot of credibility with the studios, so he got away with the costs overrun quite easily. And, as time has shown, the producers and investors were not mistaken having faith and confidence in Cameron. The terminator sequel was not only even more ambitious, impressive and vivid in terms of production, but also more emotional, deeper and multidimensional than the original. Along with that, the Judgment Day doesn’t conflict with The Terminator (1984), but develops logically and quite organically the ideas that were put up in the 1984 movie. Therefore, it makes good sense to consider these movies as dilogy, rather than separate projects.

Famous Terminator Smile

Of course, like any real masterpiece, the Terminator dilogy did not just happen in an empty space: the theme of the machine’s revolt against humanity has been raised before in cinema and literature. The most brilliant example is, of course, Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey”. However, in Kubrick’s film, the idea was resolved in a completely different context and with the opposite genre shades (slow philosophical narration instead of Cameron’s non-stop action). It is therefore more logical to compare dilogy with the Aliens movie franchise (at the time of “Terminator 2″ release there were only 2 parts of the quadrilogy, the first -”Alien” – directed by Ridley Scott, and the second – “Aliens” – by James Cameron). The latter two movies raise a number of different topics, however, the main characters – the Alien and Lieutenant Ripley – have a clear resemblance to the T-1000 and Sarah Connor. Merciless and practically invulnerable creature opposed to the female-warrior, female-savior, who desperately fights for the sake of herself (“Alien” 1979), and then for the sake of all humankind (“Aliens” 1986).

“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” Movie Review

“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” Plot Summary

A bachelor is haunted by the ghosts of his past girlfriends at his younger brother’s wedding.

Not a bad movie.

Not a bad movie, but I have to watch it another time. I thinks a second viewing will give me a better opinion. The story is a bit weak but Mat is a good actor and makes the film better. Mike D as uncle Wayne adds much comic relief. We see that Uncle Wayne should have never brought up kids, and this is the thesis which drives the story. I would wait and rent the movie or Video on demand it. The movie is not for kids. I would give Ghosts of girlfriends past a six out of ten. Maybe, I would like the movie on a second viewing. I found the characters a little to sleazy for my liking. There was not very likable character in this film.

“He’s Just Not That Into You” Movie Review

“He’s Just Not That Into You” Plot Summary

The Baltimore-set movie of interconnecting story arcs deals with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.

A good romantic comedy!

I happened to see this movie with my wife on Valentine’s day. I had entered the theater with low expectations and the only reason I was keen to watch this was because of Ben Affleck and host of other starts. However, as the movie progressed I found myself starting to like it. By the time it ended I was glad it didn’t turn out to be just another stupid romantic comedy made to pull the audiences with big stars

The story is not new yet the script is cleverly written as it juggles between couples all somehow intertwined/related with each other added with nice style of presenting it, thus keeping the viewer interested

The characters are from a wide range of people we encounter in real life. Alex, a guy who’s an ‘expert’ on relationships. He keeps himself away from emotional attachments, runs a bar and plays an agony aunt to Gigi; a lady desperately seeking a soul mate. Next is Beth, Gigi’s friend cum co-worker who is in a relationship with Neil since seven years and is very keen to tie the knot as opposed to Neil who loves Beth, is loyal to her but believes marriage is not an assurance of loyalty. This fact is proved by Ben; Neil’s friend who’s married to Janine (who also happens to be Gigi’s co-worker) for around 8 years, but falls for Anna. Next follows a typical chase of ‘A’ following ‘B’, ‘B’ following ‘C’, hidden meanings, signs, a little humor here and there and related stuff

Performances in this movie are fine by everyone if not exceptional. Ben Affleck and Drew Barrymore play their parts with ease. I liked Drew’s small part, especially where she expresses her frustration with today’s increasing use of technology which is leading people apart as opposed to bringing them together. Justin Long impresses with his performance and Scarlett Johansson is convincing as the temptress. The rest of the cast also do not disappoint as well

What I didn’t like about this movie was its length which I found to be a bit long. Also, the soundtrack of this movie is not very impressive, with a couple of exceptions. Finally it would’ve helped if it would have been more funny

I would recommend this fresh take on love, romance, loyalty, marriage and things similar, to anyone who is looking for a good romantic comedy.

“The Patriot” Plot Summary

Peaceful farmer Benjamin Martin is driven to lead the Colonial Militia during the American Revolution when a sadistic British officer murders his son.

Best Movie

‘The Patriot’ was an amazing thrill ride. With outstanding performances from Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, and many others, ‘The Patriot’ was hands down the best movie i have ever seen. The old revolutionary war scenes and battles make this movie a tremendous action film. It is also topped off with some amazing drama. The acting in this movie was just unbelievable, which helps make this the best War Movie i have ever seen.

    Excellent Sequel, That’s Very Entertaining

This is an excellent sequel that’s very entertaining. It’s loaded with great humor, lots of laughs, exciting action, and it had 3 excellent main leads but it can’t quite match the original. The 2 main villains are very menacing, even though we hardly see Jurgen Prochnow, he was still very menacing when on screen. It’s somewhat of a rehash of the 1st, but that’s okay Murphy is still funny as hell, and The finale is excellent. One of the funniest parts in the film is, Reinhold’s sudden obsession with huge guns, and it had some pretty powerful moments, especially when Capt Bogomil gets shot. The Direction is very good. Tony Scott does a very good job here, keeping the film at an exciting pace, injecting lots of great humor, good camera angles, and doing a great job overall!. There is some blood. but lots of very bloody gunshot wounds is all we get. The Acting is awesome!. Eddie Murphy is wonderful here, once again he is HILARIOUS, very likable, had great chemistry with, Ashton and Reinhold, and was lots of fun to watch!. Judge Reinhold, is also wonderful here, he is also HILARIOUS, seemed to be having a lot of fun, plus he he had a lot more to do this time around, and was very likable. John Ashton is excellent here once again, he is also quite funny at times, and very likable, and also had more to do. Jurgen Prochnow does good as one of the main villains, but didn’t really have that much screen time. Ronny Cox is fine here again, but also didn’t have that much screen time. Brigitte Nielsen is good looking, and did excellent here as one of the main villains, and man was she big!, she was also very menacing. Allen Garfield is very good here, but he was EXTREMELY unlikable,, and yelled to much and i just wanted to slap him!, he did his job well though. Dean Stockwell, has a small role here, and did fine with it

Paul Reiser is good here, once again. Gilbert R. Hill is great again as the tough inspector. Robert Ridgely is decent as the mayor. and Alice Adair is okay as Bogomil’s daughter. And look out for a cameo by a very young Chris Rock!. Overall a must see! **** out of 5

    “Old Dogs” Plot Summary

Two friends and business partners find their lives turned upside down when strange circumstances lead to them being placed in the care of 7-year-old twins. add synopsis

    Very funny

I do not like stupid films at all. This had a little bit of stupidity, but it didn’t stop me from laughing from beginning to end! My friend loved it too. Really good for a comedy and great actors! This is one to watch over and over and share with all

It was fun to watch Travolta’s family in action. His daughter was adorable. Robin Williams was at his best. He handled being a new dad with aplomb. It is always great to see men deal with kids and feel their way through it

Williams was the star – Travolta played second behind him. Williams is of course a natural comedian. Travolta has to work harder.
