“Deja Vu” Movie Review

“Deja Vu” Plot Summary

An ATF agent travels back in time to save a woman from being murdered, falling in love with her during the process.

Washington and Brokheimer, a winning combination

Deja Vu is a high-action, crime-drama, sci-fi, thriller which is exactly what you would expect from Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of such action-adventures as ‘Con Air,’ ‘Enemy of the State,’ ‘National Treasure,’ ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ and another Denzel Washington favorite, ‘Remember the Titans.’ The story opens with an explosion on board a New Orleans Ferry, and takes the audience back through an unfolding of events that leads up to the tragic scene. Even the most modern technology hasn’t gone as far as the storyline takes us. The premise is thrilling and the implications stimulate the imagination. For example; ‘how would altering the past impact people and events of the present?’ The acting is superb, with Denzel Washington and Paula Patton as romantic leads. James Caviezel does an extraordinary job as the villain, which is a departure from his role as Jesus in ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ There is plenty of action and some of it violent. Be prepared to see a few corpses like those on television’s ‘CSI’ or ‘Crossing Jordon.’ There are gun fights, but with a minimum of blood. While the movie is certainly intense, much of the severe action is implicit and takes place off camera. For an action packed, PG-13 movie, I was particularly impressed with the limited amount of rough language. I imagine with Denzel and James in the cast, there was an effort to keep it ‘clean.’ This is one of the few remaining Touchstone Pictures releases. Parent company, Walt Disney Studios is committed to producing action movies that appeal to a wider family audience. We’re awarding ‘Deja Vu’ the Dove Family-Approved Seal at for audience members over age 12.(www.dove.org) Parents should look over the violent content issues before deciding whether to bring tweens along.

    “Wedding Crashers” Plot Summary

John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey, a pair of committed womanizers who sneak into weddings to take advantage of the romantic tinge in the air, find themselves at odds with one another when John meets and falls for Claire Cleary.

    surprisingly funny

I’m not a guy who usually goes for the gay and sexual humor. This is not because I am a prude, but because these kinds of movies tend to take it too far and just isn’t funny after that point. Wedding Crashers, however, executed this brand of humor perfectly. Another plus that makes this movie an above average comedy is the fact that the comedy did not take away from the plot. Many movies, such as Animal House, go so out of their way to be funny that they forget that movies are meant to tell a story. Wedding Crashers did a great job of keeping the comedy in the realm of a specific plot. Wedding Crashers is a unique and fun movie and I would definitely recommend watching it.

    “Max Payne” Plot Summary

Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a police detective whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin out to avenge her sister’s death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.

liked the game, loved the movie

I went into Max Payne thinking I was in for another disappointment when it comes to video games being brought to the big screen, I was wrong. I’ve played the game and I thought it was okay. It seemed more like the Matrix games than anything original, but I digress. I was wowed by the film in the way they actually made it a story and make you actually care for the main character. That hasn’t happened for me since the first Mortal Kombat film, but then the second one sucked so bad I almost cried

The only reason I didn’t rate this higher is that the film takes at least 20 mins to really get going, but after that it sucks you right in. I loved the whole soldiers taking a liquid drug to make them feel invincible to the whoever they were at war with, which sometimes feels like that could be coming around the corner any day now. When the head bad guy starts acting like he’s some kind of god from the drugs I started thinking ‘Can’t wait till Payne kicks his Ass!’ As a story, I think it is a clever mystery story including fabled occult beliefs from the Norse mythology and when Max starts seeing them after taking the drug to get to the bad guys is pretty friggin’ sweet. I felt the film ended as good as any film noir could end after the resolution of the characters. I can’t wait to buy it on DVD and watch it again. That’s all I have for now. See ya next time.

    “Bolt” Movie Review

    “Bolt” Plot Summary

The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.

    A good day guaranteed!

Ridonculous! Bolt has the audience in the pad of his paw from beginning to end

A white American shepherd who plays a hit TV series’ superdog hero, Bolt (voiced by John Travolta) leads a Truman Show life: he thinks his superpowers are real and believes that his sci-fi adventures with his person Penny (Miley Cyrus) are serious. When Bolt accidentally strays from the confines of his studio lot world, he embarks on a real-life quest to find his person and protect her from the evil Dr. Calico. He gets into true-to-life troubles himself, encountering genuine characters along the way: a trio of pigeons, Mittens the alley cat (Susie Essman) and fan-hamster Rhino (Mark Walton). Ally McBeal’s Greg Germann provides the voice for Penny’s scheming Agent, while The Drew Carey Show’s Diedrich Bader is the voice for the Veteran Cat

It may be executive-produced by Pixar’s John Lasseter and has tinges of his comedy stylings, but Bolt is fully a Disney creation. Having Lasseter on board ensures that the adults in the audience will probably have an even better time than the kids. The animation is impressive, as it delivers the drama and emotion, as well as the laughs and the Fully Awesome action! It would just be really difficult not to smile and swoon at Bolt and his sidekicks. Watch it and have a good day guaranteed!

    “Shakespeare in Love” Movie Review

    “Shakespeare in Love” Plot Summary

A young Shakespeare, out of ideas and short of cash, meets his ideal woman and is inspired to write one of his most famous plays.

This movie is my favorite film of all time.

The first time I went to see ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ I went because the commercials on television were hilarious. So, I went to see it opening day (Christmas), but that isn’t extremely special because I see movies on holidays as a rule. When I left the theatre, I was in love with the film, and the more I thought about the more I loved it. Later that day, I went to see ‘The Prince of Egypt’ and ‘Stepmom.’ Really bad and decent, respectively. I thought of them in comparison to ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ and they got worse and worse and ‘Shakespeare in Love’ got better and better

And why shouldn’t it? Gwyneth Paltrow turns out an amazing performance especially since she is using an accent, speaking in verse, and playing four parts (Viola, Thomas, Romeo, and Juliet). She is also phenomenal in the way she can switch from being horridly funny to evoking tears. Joseph Fiennes no less of an actor than she. He brings such life to someone seen as a god to many and he is so believable as this writing giant. Geoffery Rush is absolutely hilarious as Mr. Henslowe. I must say that he will make you roll in the aisles. Then of course there is Judi Dench, who has a meek 8 and a half minutes of screentime but is so awesome that she won Best Supporting Actress. And last, there is Ben Affleck, who also has a small role as Ned Alleyn (the prima donna of the group), but will make you laugh so hard that you will beg for mercy. I’m really not kidding, he has the best lines

Now, if performances aren’t enough to make you see it, there are the costumes. Or the music. The music has to be one of the best scores I’ve ever heard. Or there’s the fights (yes, there are fights in a Shakespearean film), which are hilarious, tense, and full of suspense

So, if I’ve been able to laugh at every joke all fourteen (yes, you read it correctly, 14) times that I’ve seen ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ I think you’ll enjoy it at least once.

    “Mall Cop” Plot Summary

When a shopping mall is overtaken by a gang of organized crooks, it’s up to the a mild-mannered security guard to save the day.

    Good film comedy!….

I have just seen Paul Blart: Mall Cop this evening, and i thought that it was a good film comedy. It is about a man called Paul Blart who is a family man and a single parent, Paul lives with his daughter, Maya, in New Jersey. He has a job as a security guard in a New Jersey mall. he has tried to apply to become a cop, for years but he always fails the exam because he is overweight. He gets attracted to a mall employee called Amy, His efforts to try to get a date with Amy are hilarious as he must first know how to work mobile phones and text messaging. One day, a gang of criminals put the shopping mall under siege and take hostages. Paul Blart becomes trapped inside, and because of his sense of duty, he refuses to leave. And he attempts to stop the criminals on his own, with very funny results. I found this to be a good comedy film which i would recommend to people of all ages as it is rated PG so it is suitable for everyone to watch.

A prep school student needing money agrees to “babysit” a blind man, but the job is not at all what he anticipated. add synopsis

Good story, brilliant acting, what more do you want?

This movie once again proves that Pacino is one of the greatest actors of our time and that we all should be very glad he choose to portray Colonel Frank Slade in ‘Scent of a woman’, no one else could have done it. The story of ‘Scent of a woman’ stands and falls with Pacino’s acting and the bringing alive of his character. It’s touching and makes you smile and leaves you behind with the feeling that you’ve just have had the pleasure of meeting Colonel Frank Slade, a crazy but interesting man. Chris O’Donnell does what he has to do, he gives Pacino the opportunity to shine and triggers the story. The interaction between him and Pacino does the job and provides us with great lines. Overall a great movie. I give this one a 8 out of 10.

    “Batman & Robin” Plot Summary

Batman & Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City. add synopsis

    Very Entertaining Movie

Personally, this movie is not the best of the batman movies, the original batman is

However, this is in my opinion, the most fun to waste two hours on

I mean I understand Batman is serious, but this movie is very funny

    I mean Arnold as Mr

Freeze, and the most immortal line of them all,’Your Not Sending Me To The Cooler!!’ had me blowing soda out of my nose

    Very funny line

Also Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy is very nice eye candy to look at for two hours which is a plus

Bane is very cool,so what if he broke batmans back in the comics

    This is the movie

Comics you can do anything, this is very good to the characters for what it is worth

Clooney is a nice touch, and O’Donnell is awesome as Robin

Silverstone was kind of out of place as Batgirl,as the only problem in this movie was too many characters

    Three villains and three heroes

But in my opinion,I personally like this movie, and if you are the kind of person who enjoys nice set designs and campy fun, this is a must see

    All others need not apply.
