“American Pie 2″ Movie Review

“American Pie 2″ Plot Summary

The continuing bawdy adventures of a group of friends reuniting after their first year of college. add synopsis

American Pie 2

It is almost as good as the first one, with all the teenagers from American Pie reunited after graduating from college. Jim (Jason Biggs) has heard from Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) that she is coming to see him, so he seeks ’sex’ advice from his prom date Michelle (Alyson Hannigan). Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) is still an idiot and still trying to be friends with Vicki (Tara Reid). Oz (Chris Klein) is speaking to Heather (Mena Suvari) on the phone, they even have short phone sex. Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) is still obsessed with Stifler’s Mom (Jennifer Coolidge) ever since prom, and Stifler (Seann William Scott) is still the loud and hilarious jock. Anyway, the basic story is they rent a beach house and spend summer there, and eventually do a party that they will never forget. My favourite bit is Jim gluing himself to ‘himself’ (his penis). Filled with more good laughs and more short scenes with Jim’s Dad (Eugene Levy), this is a good sequel. Good!

    “We Were Soldiers” Movie Review

    “We Were Soldiers” Plot Summary

The story of the first major battle of the American phase of the Vietnam War and the soldiers on both sides that fought it.

I’ve been waiting over 30 years for one

Ever since 1970 when I finished my third tour of combat duty with the Marines in Viet Nam I have been waiting for a film that reflected the American Fighting Man in the Viet Nam war as an American Fighting Man; not a drugged-out, anti-war whiner. Well this is it. The movie is non-stop action after the first fifteen minutes of character development is finished. Having experienced what it is like to be over-run by the NVA during the third week of my first VN tour I can tell you that this movie does an excellent job of showing the excitement, tension, exhaustion, chaos, and courage of an extended battle. While this is by no means the best war movie I have ever seen, it is the first Viet Nam war movie which has provided me with a sense of satisfaction after leaving the theater. Mel Gibson turns in a good performance, Sam Elliot is a bit stiff. The wives of the soldiers are believable. Including a bit of the NVA’s attitude about the war adds a balanced flavor to the film. Overall I would say that you will experience at least a small part the intensity of war if you go to this movie. I took my female companion and she was shocked, touched, and thrilled with it. As Americans, we need to remember that freedom is not, and never has been, free. It is always paid for with the blood of those who fight to get it, sustain it, or expand it. The politically correct may not like this film, but then who cares what they like. Thanks for making this film Mel. I’ve been waiting over 30 years to see it.

    “World’s Greatest Dad” Movie Review

    “World’s Greatest Dad” Plot Summary

A comedy about a man who learns that the things you want most may not be the things that make you happy, and that being lonely is not necessarily the same as being alone.

Nice Black Comedy for Williams and Bobcat

World’s Greatest Dad (2009) *** (out of 4) One of the blackest of all black comedies features Robin Williams as Lance, a failed teacher, failed boyfriend and failed father to an obnoxious pervert (Daryl Sabara) who masturbates too much, is hated by everyone and who has no real purpose in life. After a tragedy and a lie the father must then come to terms with something that I won’t ruin here. When people think of Goldthwait, 99% of them are going to think of the crazy guy from the POLICE ACADEMY films and only 1% are going to know him as a filmmaker. SHAKES THE CLOWN has gained a cult following over the years and there’s no doubt that this film will eventually be looked at as not a great movie but one that after watching you’ll want to stand up and applaud the filmmakers for delivering something completely original and different. It’s hard to really describe this movie because it’s best that you go into it without knowing all of the details and how we get to the events in the second half. I’m sure you could show this movie to a hundred people and each one of them would walk away feeling the movie was about something different. I think the film certainly shines the spotlight on parenthood, teen suicide and how we worship celebs and how those celebs even become famous. The movie has so many layers that people are going to take different things away from it but I really respected the comedy of the first half and then the drama of the second. The first half of the movie is full of vulgar situations as the loser son offends one person after another and the viewer can’t help but hate him. There’s never an attempt to make us like him and that’s usually not a good thing in a comedy if you hate the leading man. We’re not even given a reason to like the father played by Williams, although I’m sure one could feel sorry for him because of how big of a loser he is to everyone around him. If you do find yourself caring for him then that might change after the events in the second half of the movie. Everyone was informed about Williams and his full frontal nudity but more people should really look at his terrific performance. I guess raw might be a simple word but the entire Williams persona is cleaned away and we’re seeing a performance from him that we haven’t seen before. I’ve always felt that he was a better dramatic actor than a comedic one but he handles both sides extremely well here. Sabara is just as great as the perverted son and Alexie Gilmore is wonderful as Williams’ girlfriend. The film hits on all sorts of rather taboo subjects but for the most part is looks them directly in the face and doesn’t back down. I’m sure the subject matter might be too much for certain film fans but I think those looking for a rather brave and original piece of film-making is going to at least respect what we get here even if they find themselves feeling uncomfortable.

    “American Pie” Plot Summary

Four teenage boys enter a pact to lose their virginity by prom night. add synopsis

    This is a FUNNY movie!

When I went to the theatre with my boyfriend to see this movie, we both got carded! I couldn’t believe it..her we are 22 & 25 respectively, and we are getting carded for a movie…this one must be really raunchy I thought. I was right! For anyone who liked ‘Something About Mary’, you will definitely like this one. It had me laughing so much, I almost fell off my seat…literally! There is one scene in particular that had me gagging and trying not to throw-up, both from laughing and from the grossness of the scene. There is not much more to say than GO SEE THIS MOVIE with out giving out the details of the movie. You won’t be disappointed!

    “Paycheck” Movie Review

    “Paycheck” Plot Summary

What seemed like a breezy idea for an engineer to net him millions of dollars, leaves him on the run for his life and piecing together why he’s being chased.

    I liked it! A clever Sci-Fi thriller.

When I watch a movie like this, I don’t expect for anything to be ‘plausible’, because nothing is plausible in this type of Sc-Fi story. So I just check my ‘logic’ in the coat room and just sit back and, hopefully, enjoy. I enjoyed Ben Affleck as Michael Jennings, super smart ‘reverse engineer’ who can take apart and analyze a new, complicated contraption, and give plans to his employer to make their own, and go one or two steps better. For this he gets paid very well, and has the only additional requirement that he forget everything. And he does, they always see to that. The movie starts with one such job, just to establish the playing field, then the movie starts in earnest when his old friend, James (Aaron Eckhart), entices him to do a three year job that will get him a fee ‘in 8 figures.’ In the process he meets and flirts with pretty, smart Biologist Dr. Rachel Porter (Uma Thurman). Paul Giamatti has a nice role as his friend, Shorty

Almost 2 hours, it held my interest all the way

SPOILERS. Michael’s old friend James is up to no good. The project is a special ‘lens’ and computer system that can see in circular space, warping back on itself so that one can ’see’ into the future. We only are shown the beginning and end of the 3 years, nothing in between, except for some flashbacks later. His memory is erased, but when he goes to the bank to access his $90+ Million, he is told that he signed it away, and his package of personal effects don’t look familiar to him. Cut to the core story, as he was completing the project, he took a look into his future and saw he was to be killed by a bullet at the work site. So, knowing his memory would be erased, he sent a package to himself, with a number of seemingly unrelated items — a bullet, a bus pass, a BMW key, a fortune with a set of lottery numbers, etc. He was smart enough to realize these would be the key items to get him to change the future, stay alive, and avoid the destruction of the world. To do all that he had to get back in and destroy the computer, which he later found he had the wisdom earlier to put a bug into. And, in the end he gets the girl!

    “Amadeus” Movie Review

    “Amadeus” Plot Summary

The incredible story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, told in flashback mode by Antonio Salieri – now confined to an insane asylum.

An Excellent film of describing Mozart’s life from wealthy with great fame that shatters in pieces

Amadeus is one tremendous film. The acting was great. Tom Hulce did wonderful and I have only seen him once in a film and that was Animal House. The rest of the cast was great to like F. Murry Abraham did a terrific job in his performance. The music was brilliant, I have never seen a film with such great performances in their plays. I really did admire this movie, everything in it was very interesting and after I watched the film I did a little research on Mozart. The script and directing was superb and the cinematography was brilliant. I couldn’t of asked for a better film than Amadeus. I’m glad I saw this film!Hedeen’s outlook: 10/10!! **** A+

    “The Exorcist” Movie Review

    “The Exorcist” Plot Summary

When a teenager is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter.

    A Horror Classic

This is a very highly rated horror movie for a good reason, when it was realised it broke the mould of everything that preceded it, and set the standard for the horror genre for decades to come; because of this it should retain its place Movie history forever

The sheer terror this movie instilled in people, during the year of its release is even today unmatched by anything. Time, however has altered its effect on its audience, we simply are not as easily shocked as we used to be

For anyone who hasn’t seen this movie yet, my advice is this, approach it with an open mind, and remember when it was made, this is the only way you will appreciate it for what it is

Difficult for new audiences to appreciate, but it is still a classic, time won’t change that.8/10
