“The Jungle Book” Movie Review

“The Jungle Book” Plot Summary

Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.

One of Disney’s Best

‘The Jungle Book’ is definitely a classic. This was the last one to be produced under Walt Disney himself, and it kept the animation department alive after him. If you have noticed a certain ‘formula’ to modern Disney animated features, you’ll see that ‘The Jungle Book’ does not quite fit that formula. It’s something I appreciate about old Disney pictures, especially this one.

    “Liar Liar” Movie Review

    “Liar Liar” Plot Summary

A fast track lawyer can’t lie for 24 hours due to his son’s birthday wish after the lawyer turns his son down for the last time.

    The best comedy of 1997!

‘Liar, Liar’ was easily the best comedy of 1997. When I saw this when it first came out in theaters I was literally laughing my head off. Jim Carrey gives the best comic performance of his career here as Fletcher Reede, a fast-talking lawyer who’s always lying. His son Max doesn’t like this one bit. Fletcher promises Max that he’ll be at his 5th birthday party. But Fletcher calls and tells his ex-wife Audrey that he can’t make it because at the moment he’s being seduced by a female partner. Max has had enough. His birthday wish: for one day his father can’t tell a lie. And it miraculously comes true! And this is where the movie gets explosively funny. This is the beginning of a long and crazy day for Fletcher. He gets in trouble left and right. Everyone around him thinks he’s going crazy. And the habitual liar continuously makes a complete fool of himself. Carrey is the whole show here in what has got to be the craziest, nuttiest, silliest, goofiest, and downright best comic performance of his career. And he’s got a terrific cast of actors to support him. Maura Tierney and Justin Cooper shine in the main supporting roles as Audrey and Max, respectably. Swoosie Kurtz, Jennifer Tilly, Amanda Donohoe, Anne Haney, Cary Elwes, Mitchell Ryan, and the late Jason Bernard also generate laughs amongst the craziness. ‘Liar, Liar’ is one extremely funny comedy directed by Tom Shadyac who directed another crazy comedy, the aptly titled remake ‘The Nutty Professor’. ‘Liar, Liar’ has lots of big laughs and I enjoyed it alot. One of the best comedies of all-time.**** (out of four)

    “Saw” Movie Review

    “Saw” Plot Summary

With a dead body laying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who’s been nicknamed “Jigsaw” by the police because of his unusual calling card.

The Most Clever Horror Movie Ever!

Not only does this movie create an extremely tense atmosphere the moment it starts, it has plenty of gore and violence to bombard your eyes, not to mention that it has one of the best twists seen in any horror movie

I watched this film alone at night with the lights off, expecting to be freaked out by it since I thought it was just another typical horror movie; but instead I was completely intrigued by the story line, and utterly drawn into the film for the whole 100 minutes. At the end I did not feel scared, rather, I felt something very few horror movies have to offer: satisfaction! This movie left me in a slightly disturbed but very thoughtful state. It did not give me nightmares, rather, it plagued my day-dreams; for two days my thoughts could not stray far from this film, that’s how powerful it is

If you want a cringingly gory and violent horror movie, watch ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ or ‘Hostel’; if you want a nightmarishly scary horror movie, watch ‘The Grudge’ or ‘The Ring’; if you want a clever and disturbing horror movie with an excellent story and a great twist, watch ‘Saw’.

    “Twister” Movie Review

    “Twister” Plot Summary

A couple on the point of divorce keep meeting each other because both are researchers who chase tornadoes.

    Great Movie.

First off, I love this movie. I first saw it during the 2004 Hurricane Season. We were staying by ourselves in an empty church because Hurricane Charlie was set to bulls-eye our town. Instead of watching the Shining and giving in to the creeping feelings of cabin fever, though, I popped the movie into the VCR for the projector screen in the student room, and watched Twister, the sounds of the movie mixing with the sounds of the storm outside

Also, another reason to like this movie: Thunderstorms rock. I was never one of those kids growing up who would cower under the bed when a T-Storm hit: Florida is, after all, the lightning capital of the world. Heck, we’d open up the window shades and enjoy the show. I also have a Grandma who would pamper us grandkids just like Aunt Mae. For me, there’s a lot of nostalgia riding on this film for me, and I won’t have any elitist snobs ruin it for me

Honestly, if you’re going to watch Twister, watch it on a rainy day. A really rainy day. Makes all the difference.
