    “Ocean’s Twelve” Movie Review

    “Ocean’s 12″ Plot Summary

Daniel Ocean recruits one more team member so he can pull off three major European heists in this sequel to Ocean’s 11.

A brilliant satire of the heist movie… I think.

I sat for a couple hours after seeing Ocean’s Twelve trying to figure out why Soderbergh and gang had made such an outrageous film. Too much of it didn’t add up: the ridiculous laser system guarding the egg in the museum and the equally ridiculous way in which it was defeated; the flashbacks containing information that completely undermined the apparent narrative thrust; Julia Roberts’ plot twist and the avalanche of seemingly nonsensical and irrelevant self-reference that immediately followed; O12 had me completely stumped. Until I re-interpreted these scenes as clues towards something else: that O12 is not, in fact, a heist movie, but a *satire* of the heist movie

Why else would someone of Sod’s stature overstuff the film with cliches, like the enigmatic and debonair master thief, and the colorful and completely trustworthy team of people who would never exist in real life? One character (the woefully underused Eddie Izzard) even overtly mentions that one particular element of the film is a cliche — but he doesn’t say what it is a cliche *of*. Notice all the decoys, impostors, holograms, secret languages… O12 is littered with breadcrumbs, and I’m willing to believe that there was never actually a spec script called ‘Honor Among Thieves.’ As a heist movie, it falls flat on its face, arguably worse than Hudson Hawk (which suffered more from sheer goofiness overload, rather than bewildering nonsense). It simply does not make sense. How did the Night Fox get into that house in Amsterdam? Conveniently not explained. How did Benedict find all of the Twelve at once? Conveniently not explained. How did Julia Roberts’ plot twist work, while Matt Damon is with her but does not experience the same story change? Conveniently brushed off. How in the name of Zeus did a certain someone show up out of the blue while the gang was locked up and help them with a certain problem? How was this individual aware of certain aspects of Isabel Lahiri’s paperwork? An outlandish narrative convenience… or a satire of the genre? Why was so little narrative dedicated to convincing the audience of Benedict’s extremely vindictive motivation? How else do you explain the obvious expenses the thieves racked up in their very quest to make money? I mean, come on, when Damon and the other two remaining thieves start spouting off all the heist jargon as they try to figure out a contingency plan… it’s preposterous. No one talks like that

Maybe I’m reaching. But either way you slice it, O12 is much, much more enjoyable as a *satire* of the heist film. That’s the only way I can understand the film. I know why a sequel was made, certainly: The original made over $450 million dollars worldwide, far and away Sod’s most financially successful film. Its closest competitor is Erin Brockovich, which made a little over $250M worldwide, and Traffic clocks in at a little over $200M. Successful, certainly, but not blockbusters like O11 was. A sequel was as inevitable as death and taxes. So it occurs to me that Sod decided he might as well have fun with it — screw with the audience a little, poke fun at the actors themselves (good naturedly), and they still walked away with about $360M.There also might be a meta-commentary going on about American audiences and how little they catch on to stylistic subversion (I am an American myself, for the record) but it’s pure speculation. All I can tell you is that O12 simply does not work as a straightforward film and can really only be enjoyable as a satire. There’s simply too many outrageous scenes and too many cliches. There are simply too many lines of dialog that only make sense if the whole movie is a genre skewer. It’s also much easier on my brain. And I’d like to think that Sod hadn’t morphed into a cynical robber baron who no longer cared about making a good movie.

    GREAT MOVIE!

I don’t understand why a lot of people didn’t like this movie. The fact is, if you didn’t like the main point of the TV series, or you don’t like the main concept of the movie, you shouldn’t see the movie! It was very colorful (to represent that its based off of the original TV series), it’s very well thought, and it’s good for entertainment! I loved this movie because they really made it seem similar to the TV series in different ways.

Yes, some of it may not make the best of logical sense, but it captures comedy, action, and romance. It is a fun movie and really interesting to keep your eyes glued to the screen! The acting is great, the script is well-written, and the direction of the director is really well done! 10 out of 10!

    “Ocean’s Thirteen” Movie Review

    “Ocean’s 13″ Plot Summary

Danny Ocean rounds up the boys for a third heist, after casino owner Willy Bank double-crosses one of the original eleven, Reuben Tishkoff.

    Great fun

    Let’s face it

    Ocean’s 11 was great,ocean’s 12 was pathetic

But,finally Sodenbergh goes back to the roots of his original film and makes it a fun caper

No more Le Marc,no more Julia Roberts and all that crap

This is possibly the best heist film since ocean’s 11.

Ocean’s 13 marries the heist part of the original film with the complexity of ocean’s 12 but in no way does it appear self-indulgent or laboured

Clooney is great as always and so are the rest of the gang

Expect to see a lot of Linus in this film

But,I feel that Rusty fans will be disappointed

The poor guy hardly has much to do as compared to the previous 2 films

Al Pacino doesn’t disappoint though I felt that his character lacked the ruthlessness of Terry Benedict

Forget the aberration known as ocean’s 12 and go and get your kicks with ocean’s 13.

Can we have ocean’s 14 Steve?

“Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” Movie Review

    “Madagascar 2″ Plot Summary

The sequel to 2005’s “Madagascar”, in which New York Zoo animals, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo…

Great movie even for the ones who didn’t watch the first movie.

To say that I quite dislike the first movie that I didn’t watch it. This is quite a breakthrough for the sequel. What I am telling is that even we didn’t watch the first movie, we can still watch this movie happily, without any anxiety of thinking that ones would not understand the plot in the movie. I think, the creator and the director of the movie are smart guys who could bundle up the first movie’s story in just several second

At first, I was with my friends going to watch other movie. But then, a lot of them want to watch this movie, so I can say that I gave this movie a try. Then I started to search the disappointing-factor in the movie, but then I found nothing except the great laughter that would really tickle your stomach! They way the actors and the actresses act by their voices is really unexpectedly beautiful. What I mean, is that they could convince the audiences to make them also go inside the movie and become parts of the movie

It is also a big success, another big success for the Dreamworks team by making this film out to the theaters. Their jokes, for sure, is something, I mean that, I think they have gallons of jokes that never ends throughout the movie. And the best part of the movie is that it gives no boring-factor to the audience because it has its own way to connect each plot to another plot in the movie. It is really great too that they have musical parts too that I think it is not too bad, I think

I really recommends everyone to watch this movie, because of all the things I’ve said before. Just watch and you’ll go home with a big wide smile in your face.

    “Ocean’s Eleven” Movie Review

    “Ocean’s 11″ Plot Summary

Danny Ocean and his ten accomplices plan to rob three Las Vegas casinos simultaneously.

One of the Best Heist Movies Ever

When you want to steal $160 million in cash from a huge casino in Vegas, you can either do it with force, or you can do it in a sneaky way. Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his gang map out the casino and find a way to get down into the vault without anyone knowing what is going on until Rusty (Brad Pitt) calls the owner of the casino, Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) to state the terms. A large reason for the heist was that Benedict was going out with Danny’s sexy ex-wife (Julia Roberts) and he wanted her back. The key to Danny and Linus (Matt Damon) getting into the vault was a device that Basher (Don Cheadle) stole, a bomb powerful enough to wipe out the power of Las Vegas. Not many people would find a movie about stealing money entertaining, but the way that this one was made certainly can catch people’s eye. I really think that it is one of the best of the new decade.

    “The Fan” Plot Summary

An all star baseball player becomes the unhealthy focus of a down on his luck salesman. add synopsis

    Entertaining!

The Fan has combined both baseball and a thriller together to make everyone happy. It is slow at the beginning but it gets interesting as the story develops more and more as we look at the life of a famous player and a knife salesman who will later become involved in a life risking dilemma. Robert De Niro teams up with director Tony Scott and Wesley Snipes to make one good thriller. Even though The Fan can’t compare with the likes of Tony Scott’s previous films, True Romance and Top Gun, it is a still a promising thriller with some pretty big flaws. It is not a masterpiece and nor will it ever be but will be remembered as a movie that tried but could not reach the finish line. The critics were very harsh on this film but that’s what they are born to do, criticize on every single piece of work. Five point six is too low for a film like the fan, a six point two would have been more like it. The end is cliched and ruins the whole point of the film. The movie is predictable yet entertains you a little bit to stop you from taking the disc out. If you are a thriller lover then this movie is no disappointment because it will entertain you. The violence is limited and that’s is a good thing but language is high.(MAY CONTAIN SOME SPOILERS!!!)Number one fan Gil Renard whose obsession is focused on a San Francisco Giants all-star outfielder Booby Rayburn. While the newly signed baseball star is having trouble getting his favorite uniform number from a competitive teammate Juan Primo, Gil is having career troubles at the knife company that his father founded, and people can bet that his proximity to high-quality stainless-steel blades will be a factor in the suspenseful plot. Gil confronts Primo in a sauna and explains to the ballplayer that he believes Rayburn’s decline in play is directly the result of Primo’s competitiveness, since Rayburn took over Primo’s spot at center field, but did not let him use his lucky number of 11 on his jersey. When Primo brushes off the fan’s concerns, Gil proceeds to murder the left fielder with one of his makeshift knives!Wesley Snipes finally gives a exceptional performance and he plays his sport role, Bobby Rayburne, very well and he shows emotion along with many other good feelings. The Fan is not so great that you would rather watch this than Kill Bill because you are a complete retard (No Offense). Robert De Niro plays the die-hard baseball fan who will do anything to impress his favorite baseball player, Bobby Rayburne (Wesley Snipes, and which results in him turning into something sinister and evil. Benicio Del Toro is almost unrecognizable in this film but after catching his face a few times, I finally realized that Benicio Del Toro looks like crap in this film. Jack Black also makes a two-second appearance in this film as the radio station guy. He looks normal and fat, usual. I got this in a triple film-pack which contained Money Train and Unstoppable, so I brought it because it was a good deal. This film deserves a view at least once. It is enjoyable, entertaining, fun, cliched and flawed but even though it is all that, you will have a good time. 7/10.

One of the most entertaining, funnest, and enjoyable films in years!

This is not a film to be taken seriously. I love it! It is just such an entertaining film. The action is enjoyable and well done, although it is unrealistic, but that is why I loved it. The acting is good, the writing is of course so intentionally cheesy and corny, but I loved the plot! The women are HOT HOT HOT, and that is something that matters. I do not get why this film gets too much hate. Honestly, it is just done as a popcorn action film, and it works!!! It really is mindless, and that is why it is easier to enjoy than maybe other action films like Spider-Man (although another similar action-packed film Wanted is just better in every way and not mindless actually). Still, this film works for me, and I think it is better than the original.

Kinda unusual role for Robert De Niro

This film was great but I needed some time to get use to idea that Robert De Niro is playing in comedy. I’ve seen many his movies and in most of them he’s playing gangster I’ve never seen him playing in comedy before but he was actually very suitable for this role. All other actors did a great job too, especially Ben Stiller. There were many funny and memorable moments. The idea of this film itself was very good for a comedy. I heard that this movie is a remake and I really would like to see an original bu it’s kinda hard to find. I haven’t see the sequel yet but I definitely gonna do it because Meet the Parents is one of the best comedies I’ve seen.

    “The Mexican” Movie Review

    “The Mexican” Plot Summary

A man tries to transport an ancient gun called The Mexican, believed to carry a curse, back across the border, while his girlfriend pressures him to give up his criminal ways.

    A film of entertainment.

Jerry Welbach (Brad Pitt) has just received two ultimatum: the first of its head, a mafia that instructs it to travel to Mexico to restore an old and valuable gun so-called ‘The Mexican’, and the second of his girlfriend, Samantha, (Julia Roberts) requiring him to put an end to its relationship with the mafia. Jerry thinks that the more attractive alternative is to stay alive – even if you have problems with Samantha- and decides directed toward the south. Find the gun is easy, but bring back is a matter more complicated. It is assumed that is a carrier of a curse legendary, since it was commissioned by a rich landlord as a gift of wedding to a daughter who eventually died in tragic circumstances. A curse that Jerry has reason to believe, especially when a killer hostage-taking Samantha to assure the delivery of the pistol to mafia capo. It is a movie that has received poor criticism in general, but I believe that are made from the perspective of expect such large stars a result commensurate with its fame. If not we take into account the latter, the film is simply entertaining, quick, with good blows of humor, good photography and some dialogs interesting. The environments of the scenarios i have liked, but the characters Mexicans have little action . I noticed that only at the end of the film appear a few drawings of the two main actors together.
