    “Wag the Dog” Plot Summary

Before elections, a spin-doctor and a Hollywood producer join efforts to “fabricate” a war in order to cover-up a presidential sex scandal.

Super but certainly not for all tastes

This is a super-cynical film that is incredibly entertaining, insightful and oh, so jaded! The problem is that although it’s got a brilliant script, the film will only appeal to a small select audience. Die-hard Clinton lovers will NOT appreciate the film as it’s a thinly veiled criticism of the Clinton presidency–particularly since the film is about some completely amoral spin-doctors doing ANYTHING to save the butt of an amoral politician. Clinton lovers probably can’t admit the truth of this aspect of his personality. Die-hard Clinton haters will no doubt love the film. Frankly, I’m rather Libertarian in view and think the nonsense in this film could apply to ANY politician, so those jaded viewers (like myself) will probably appreciate the edgy and dark humor.

“Six Days Seven Nights” Movie Review

“6 Days 7 Nights” Plot Summary

Robin Monroe, a New York magazine editor, and the gruff pilot Quinn Harris must put aside their mutual dislike if they are to survive after crash landing on a deserted South Seas island. add synopsis

    Surprisingly, delightful!

I sat down in front of this movie fully expecting to laugh at it and was hardly ever given the opportunity: although the opening, with David Schwimmer ‘Friends-ing’ it is pretty awful. You sense there’s more to it all though when he asks Heche to wear something special and her naughty thoughts are quickly usurped with a ring. Nice script moment and I kept watching…The meat of the film centres around the burgeoning love between the unlikely castaway couple of Ford and Heche. I mean, this film has no pretensions beyond being a fully loved-up snog in the back of the flea-pit matinee, so we get flirting almost from the moment they crash. But a mixture of competent shooting at a marvelous location and great acting from Ford that’s well matched by Heche (who’s not only attractive, but game, wearing revealing costume throughout and having to refer to her own chest as ’small’ more than once) renders it sexy and believable

Chuck in some authentic contemporary pirates – I’m also a bit tickled by the fact that the Star Wars prequels’ Boba Fett is chasing around after IV, V and VI’s Han Solo! – and Reitman’s smart decision to avoid excessive tie-ups (e.g. How does Heche get down the island white water Ford found so difficult? Will Schwimmer hook up with the Latino at the end? etc.) and you have highly enjoyable 6.5/10 matinee fare for a weekend date. Bravo

    “Donnie Brasco” Movie Review

    “Donnie Brasco” Plot Summary

An FBI undercover agent infilitrates the mob and finds himself identifying more with the mafia life to the expense of his regular one. add synopsis

A genius, genius movie! One of the best in gangster genre

Johnny Deep plays an FBI agent Joe Pistone by the name Donnie Brasco infiltrates a New York mafia. Lefty Ruggiero played by Al Pacino acts like a mentor and even more as a father to him as Donnie/Joe goes deeper and deeper in the mafia world which will cause his life to become total dump

The performances are excellent at best. Johnny Deep plays a good and honest man turned into a rough wise guy by the underworld perfectly. This is IMO one of Al Pacino’s best performances. The chemistry between him and Deep is genius! Michael Madsen is possibly the most underrated actor ever! He was genius in this, if not Oscar worthy

Now the best thing is the writing. There are sooo many things that don’t have anything to do with the story but make the movie much more interesting. The dialog is very natural. It doesn’t have the over the top amount of F words like Casino or cheesy one liners like Scarface

All in all an excellent gangster movie that’s not just for fans of gangster movie but mainstream audience.

    “John Q” Movie Review

    “John Q” Plot Summary

A down-on-his luck father, whose insurance won’t cover his son’s heart transplant, takes the hospital’s emergency room hostage until the doctors agree to perform the operation. add synopsis

It’s a good film and Denzel is amazing as usual.

Denzel does a great job in this film. His performance was moving and made me cry. Just as he did in Man on Fire. The film itself isn’t too bad. The music could of been better but they didn’t do a bad job on it. It’s Denzel’s acting that makes the film however. If you are a Denzel fan and feel like watching a well performed and touching film… then get a box of tissues and sit down and watch ‘John Q’. It isn’t his best film but certainly another one of his well performed ones. This story is about a poor family and the poor health system in America. He loves his son dearly and will do anything for him. This is the tale about a man who will stop at nothing to try and save his son’s life who needs a new heart and it truly is touching.
