“Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over” Movie Review

    “Spy Kids 3″ Plot Summary

Carmen’s caught in a virtual reality game designed by the Kids’ new nemesis, the Toymaker (Stallone). It’s up to Juni to save his sister, and ultimately the world.

A good kid’s movie with something for adults

I have not yet seen the first two in this series, but liked this film for what it is. First and foremost, this is a movie for kids. I went with two kids, one 8, the other 11. The younger one loved the movie and the 3-D aspect and couldn’t wait to log on to the website after she got home (difficult website, though, and she soon lost interest). The older one liked it also, but commented about the ‘Spy Kids’ series, ‘They keep getting dumber and dumber.’ Very young children might be scared by some of the flashy scenes and have trouble with the 3-D part. So, the target audience is pretty narrow, but there are a lot of 5-12 year-old kids out there with parents who need to chaperone them….Now, for adults, this is a lot less painless to sit through than most movies for kids. Ricardo Montalban, for my money, gives a splendid performance and just steals the show from everyone else involved. He gets off a few classic lines (‘I can do much, much more than that’) and, for those who know his history, a few references to his earlier screen incarnations (‘Don’t touch that, it is Corinthian leather.’) Obviously, the kids won’t appreciate his history, but he is an outstanding actor who fills his grandfather role nicely

Sylvester Stallone gives an amusing performance. Selma Hayek is pretty as always, though she doesn’t do much. After that, the supporting cast is pretty low-key. I thought Courtney Jines, who plays Demetra, gave a fine, laid back kind of performance that was perfect for the part. Nobody else really registered very strongly, the stars of the show are the situation and the special effects

The putative stars, the ‘Spy Kids’ themselves, are innocuous and no threat to win any acting awards. I can see why children relate to them, they are portrayed as average kids who are not superior beings or anything like that. Unfortunately, they also are quickly moving out of the ‘kid’ category, so I can understand why the people behind the series have said this is the last in the line

The 3-D gimmick worked for me. I stopped noticing the blue-red glasses after a while. Others say they strain the eyes, but they did not strain mine. I think it was a brilliant decision, although to tell the truth, the 3-D was not that big a deal. I have seen good 3-D, and this is minor league, but it was fun and something different for the kids

As for the plot, well, it involves entering a video game (as in the classic ‘Tron’ and so many subsequent films) and solving a problem. Other than that, it makes no sense, especially the resolution, but I’m sure nobody spent too much time trying to make the plot mean anything. It is fun and has a lot of color and action, so the kids will love it. This is sure to do blockbuster business on dvd as a gift to children. I laughed a few times, so it doesn’t have to be like going to the dentist for an adult, either. Recommended for kids and adults who have to see a kid’s movie with them.

The movie is great. I think it is wonderful how the SpyKids acted, they looked as if the situation was real! When I saw the first and second movie I got hooked. My family love it as well but I like it better than anyone in my family. I don’t understand how Alexa and Daryl could act so well!

    “2012″ Movie Review

    “2012″ Plot Summary

An epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.

    Great roller-coaster ride

Okay, the first thing I’d like to say is, ignore those comments from members who belong to ‘the worst movie ever club!!’ These members think it is way cool to label every slightly disappointing movie as ‘ the worst movie ever’ and emphasize their juvenility with tons of exclamation marks. They think it is way cool to trash movies.

The movie just isn’t that bad. It’s not that great either so ignore those who gush and tell you how awesome it is and rate it 10 out of 10.

This is a film best viewed in the movie theaters on the largest screen possible to enjoy the thrilling sensation of cities breaking up, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions. This is indeed a thrilling roller-coaster ride. It is best to leave your brain at home, however, as you will cringe at the clichГ©s, the schmaltz, and the absurdities. That doesn’t make it the worst film ever, though. So go for the ride and enjoy the CG effects.

“10 Items or Less” Movie Review

“10 Items or Less” Plot Summary

An actor (Freeman) prepping for an upcoming role meets a quirky grocery clerk (Vega), and the pair hit the road to show one another their respective worlds. add synopsis

A simple, enjoyable, and ‘down home’ kind of movie.

Bravo! Morgan Freeman is an actor, who researches a character he is selected to play, before he makes a commitment. Freeman is a ‘good fit’ for this film (like he was for ‘Driving Miss Daisy’), and he is not only believable, but he gets a chance to change his image of playing a character with reserved dignity and propriety. Although there are no guarantees in life, for anyone, this gives an actor a great opportunity to play different or unique characters that stand out, in order to avoid getting stereotyping. And it must be said that stereotyping has hampered, or completely ruined, a significant number of acting careers

This is a low-budget film that, amazingly, was made in a time span of only two weeks. It is a film that is well directed and written by Brad Silberling. The location manager chose Carson, CA for the film’s setting, and the location helps set the tone and timing for the film. The editing is fair to good, but a little rough

Silberling was the ’subcontractor’, in getting Freeman to do this film, while the actor was in-between film projects

There is a good chemistry between Freeman and Paz Vega, a Spanish actress, and this opens an effective dialog between each of the cast members, who are diverse and come from different cultures. The film also encourages an understanding between people, who not only speak two languages (English and Spanish), but come from two different worlds of ethnicity, race, gender, norms, mores, beliefs, folkways, principles, and values. The film strives for some honesty, and arrives at some truth, to maintain the film’s integrity

Part of the comedy is that Freeman plays an unemployed actor that has been out of work for four years. In truth, Freeman is so-in-demand as an actor that he is constantly working

The film offers an adventure of bonding, caring, sharing, changing, and exchanging. And, the film’s outtakes give the viewer a preview of some of things an actor must go through in preparing for a role

If necessary, tell your boss that you’re taking a ‘mental health day’, and go see this film. If you’re able, take your significant other or your family with you. I rank the film a 10 out of 10. It’s enjoyable, interesting, informative, poignant, and worthwhile.

    “Resident Evil: Extinction” Movie Review

    “Resident Evil 3″ Plot Summary

Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp.

    Very good action/horror movie

This was a surprisingly good movie. Definitely the best one out of the three made. I think this film is somewhat under appreciated and under rated. In fact, the more I think about this movie the more I want to see it again, its that kind of movie

It had scary parts along with well done action sequences. Milla Jovovich was really good in it, you can tell she was in great shape for the movie. It was an entertaining movie to watch throughout and never got boring

Nice cinematography in the filming of the desert, and a world that was devastated in the future was presented in a believable way. The evil villain was played well by the actor and was memorable. The story moved at a good pace and made sense in the ‘universe’ the movie created. Some good performances by other actors also, the acting all around was better than expected. This is a movie I would consider buying and I don’t think that of many movies.

    “Saw” Movie Review

    “Saw” Plot Summary

With a dead body laying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who’s been nicknamed “Jigsaw” by the police because of his unusual calling card.

The Most Clever Horror Movie Ever!

Not only does this movie create an extremely tense atmosphere the moment it starts, it has plenty of gore and violence to bombard your eyes, not to mention that it has one of the best twists seen in any horror movie

I watched this film alone at night with the lights off, expecting to be freaked out by it since I thought it was just another typical horror movie; but instead I was completely intrigued by the story line, and utterly drawn into the film for the whole 100 minutes. At the end I did not feel scared, rather, I felt something very few horror movies have to offer: satisfaction! This movie left me in a slightly disturbed but very thoughtful state. It did not give me nightmares, rather, it plagued my day-dreams; for two days my thoughts could not stray far from this film, that’s how powerful it is

If you want a cringingly gory and violent horror movie, watch ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ or ‘Hostel’; if you want a nightmarishly scary horror movie, watch ‘The Grudge’ or ‘The Ring’; if you want a clever and disturbing horror movie with an excellent story and a great twist, watch ‘Saw’.

    “Spy Kids” Movie Review

    “Spy Kids” Plot Summary

The children of secret-agent parents must save them from danger. add synopsis

Spy kids is a great movie which kids and adults can enjoy

I think Spy kids and Shrek are parents because both are thought for the children but adults can enjoy them very much, too

Spy kids is a great movie which all family can enjoy

The exaggerations the movie has and the credibility excess didn’t bother me because they are complements of the universe this movie has

The cast is really well but Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega stole the show

Robert Rodriguez created an excellent universe on Spy kids

The movie is so fun that it passes like 10 minutes

I totally recommend this movie which will be more enjoyed watching it in family
