“P.O.T.C.” Plot Summary
Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate “Captain” Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor’s daughter, from Jack’s former pirate allies, who are now undead.
A tale of love, war and power
Oh and what a movie this is. There is something for everyone in the family with this movie, romance, action, drama, horror, adventure and fantasy. A quality of acting rivaling no other movie in recent times, except for the Rings trilogy, but that’s another thing altogether. I have watched this movies so many times that I can’t even keep track. This movie never gets boring. Johnny Depp is at the top of this career with this film!! A must see, many times over. A true classic! The cursed tale of a pirate ship’s captain, marooned by his mutineering mates and left for dead on a desert isle. He returns with another ship, this time stolen from the Royal Navy, in order to reclaim his rightful command of the infamous Black Pearl, a ship so evil that hell itself spat back her dead. He is joined by the son of a murdered pirate ship’s mate, a swordsman who’s skill and craft are equal to that of Robin Hood himself. The boy is motivated by love for a woman, herself of royal blood and captured by those mutineering pirates of ill repute in order to release a curse cast upon them from the captured gold of the famous Spanish explorer and conquistador, Hernando Cortez. With the Royal Navy in hot pursuit of their stolen ship, the captain and the boy, along with another crew of pirates, make haste for the Black Pearl, execute a cunning plan, and live happily ever after. Well, not exactly like that but almost. This film is destined a classic because of the dry, witty comments, superb acting of the entire cast, outstanding writing and special effects, and it’s about time someone put this swashbuckling story to film. Rated PG-13, which is the number of times you should see this movie.

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” Plot Summary
In the dreams of his victims, a specteral child murderer stalks the children of the members of the lynch mob that killed him.
Another good movie from the past
Before I start reviewing this wonderful series I must say that for the longest time I had wanted to and now have had the chance to watch it. Now to the review, what can I say, hmmmmz, maybe that this film was an awesome movie with a lot of blood, gore and killing that I love
Nancy Thompson(Heather Langenkamp)has been having dreams. So have her friends Tina(Amanda Wyss), Glen(Johnny Depp)and Rod(Jsu Garcia). And all of the dreams that they have been having seemed to center about a man that wears a brown fedora hat, red and green striped sweater and a clawed hand of deathly precautions. One by one Nancy sees her friends die to the hands of the killer. That is until she makes him come into the real world and learning that she holds the power of his strength and weaknesses
The ending was a great success as it shouted out that Freddy Krueger(Robert Englund)is not done with his revenge upon the civilians of Elm Street. I gave this an 8 as I felt it needed to be a lot longer.

“Saw III” Movie Review
“Saw 3″ Plot Summary
Jigsaw kidnaps a doctor to keep him alive while he watches his new apprentice put an unlucky citizen through a brutal test.
Great movie, but a little too dark
..and by dark I mean the way it was filmed not content. I give this film a 8, only because the original SAW was perfect ,thus making this one one notch lower
First of all, for all those of you who so horrible turned in disgust, This movie is not made for PANSYS like you. Go watch A comedy
Second; for all of you think the movie is not credible. So What! You go to the movies for entertainment, in other words to see things you would otherwise never get a chance to see. You want realistic? Watch a Home movie instead. This comment is especially for those who ask ‘where are the authorities’ Boo Hoo.. If you watch SAW 2 ,then you know that ‘JigSAW’ and Amanda can get to anyone at anytime. inlcluding the authorities
With that aside ,this is a great film. Gory to the max? Maybe not so much, but it does attain that effect with bone crushing and flesh tearing sound effects. A good improvement for the series
The story line is very good, because this time around the victims do not soley rely on themselves for salvation, but rather on other people’s actions: For those of you too ignorant to grasp the concept of needless killings, I’ll explain it to you. The reason most of the victims were doomed in this installment is because ‘Jigsaw’ was not fully in control, but rather passed on the torch to Amanda, who is even more twisted than ‘JIGSAW’ She somehow blames the world for her state of mind and seriously believes that no one changes after they are given that second oppotunity. She of course, bases this belief on her own life
The second plot involves a father, Jeff, who is so consumed with hatred over those responsible for his son’s death, that he would rather let them die right before his eyes. Including a witness , The man responsible and the judge in the case
This rules out senseless killing of innocent people. Finally there is Lynn, who because of her failing marriage turns to adultery to satisfy her needs. Sound familiar? Does Dr. Lawrence Gordon ring a bell
So once again ‘JigSaw’ puts this sinners through a series of tests to prove if they appreciate the life they were given. ..And for the comment about these being innocent people. NEWSFLASH, Last time I checked WRATH and LUST were 2 of the 7 deadly sins, so in no way are these people innocent
The tests this time around involve Torture devices that border medieval times, but are still fun to watch. Not at all for the squeamish
Also very important are the Flashbacks that explain missing puzzle pieces to the previous two films . All in all a very complete trilogy and a great way to end this saga. Oops too late. Part 4 is underway
My only questions about the movie are? What really happens to Det
Eric Mathews? Other than a crushed ankle we are only told that Amanda left him for dead
Will we see his actual demise in part 4? and what of the poster scene were teeth are being pulled out? Or did I miss this when I went for popcorn? Somehow It doesn’t fit into the storyline?Final words: A great addition to the Horror genre. Who ever didn’t like it or complained about gore and nudity, should really just not go see these movies. All you really do is waste time with your Pansy reviews.

“Blade” Movie Review
“Blade” Plot Summary
A half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires.
GOOD ACTION/HORROR MOVIE!!
This was one of those slick action movies that was made to look good on screen, and it did, the vampire fighting sequences were excellent, there was plenty of blood and gore the whole movie looked good to the eye. It was a fun watch and very entertaining. Good movie but I didn’t like how Blade could slice vampires in half and they would just die, it looked good but vampires don’t die by getting sliced in half. Other than the vampires and how many rules were not kept to in this movie, Wesley Snipes gives a good performance as Blade and Stephen Dorff is great as the evil vampire. The story is when Blade’s mother was bitten by a vampire during pregnancy, she did not know that she gave her son a special gift while dying: All the good vampire attributes in combination with the best human skills. Blade grew up to be a vampire hunter for revenge on his mother’s death. The vampires, who managed to infiltrate nearly every major organization, need Blade’s very special blood to summon La Miagra, the blood god, in order to gain reign about the human cattle, as they call us. If you beleive that vampires can only be killed by a stab to the heart and the weapon must stay in the heart and chopping the head off are the only ways to kill a vampire you won’t find that in Blade. But Blade has it’s moments and I would recommend it as a good horror/action movie.

“Resident Evil” Movie Review
“Resident Evil” Plot Summary
A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.
One of my most favourite films
I am a huge fan of the video game series; I’ve played & completed almost every Resident Evil game there is. When the film was announced I thought it was going to be rubbish because mostly films that are based on games are completely crap especially the ones made by Uwe Boll, but I still went to see it the first day when it came out in the UK and it was sooooo amazing. I was speechless after I seen the film, the story is truly original and one of the best thing about it is that the first 10 minutes was slow & peaceful but then it went really fast & relentless just like a roller-coaster going up slowly & zoomed down. Paul W. S. Anderson has proved that he is terrific writer & director because it is extremely difficult to create a story for a film that is based on a video game. Milla Jovovich was undoubtedly the best and I loved her red dress to bits, it definitely did suit her. Watching the film gives you a deep insight of the game e.g
When they had about 3 hours limited time to complete their mission
Every time they enter a new place it had to be checked and they had to make sure it’s safe just like in every game
If they where trapped they had to find another way out
In the end Alice & Matt got out without killing all the zombies because Resident Evil is rather a puzzle game and killing is not necessary
The combination of action, horror & thriller is superb; they are my entire favourite genre. It had a lot of style and the use of advanced modern technology that is mostly I look for in a film, the Licker in the end was the icing on the cake. This is the only movie that I liked with zombies in it because most of them are stupid & boring especially House of the Dead, the zombies pop out of nowhere and attack people. In Resident Evil the creation of zombies was very sensible, the staff of the underground laboratory were infected by the T-Virus released into the air vent, after getting killed by the Red Queen to avoid any outside interference their dead bodies were reanimated. It is mentioned very clearly that why they ‘need to feed’, nothing like that has ever been in any film which makes the story original. Dialogues are also good my most favourite quote is ‘You’re all going to die down here’ from the Red Queen, she is one of the best characters along with Alice, Matt & Rain. Background music score is the best music possibly for any film I have ever heard it has heavy metal guitar for the fight scenes and very soft, eerie & sensational for the main title. I have the soundtrack CD and I bought it just for the background score without caring that the other tracks might be good or not but it did turn out to good. There is nothing more I can ask for in a film that makes it one of my all time favourite movies and there is never going to be another film based on a video game like this!

“Orphan” Movie Review
“Orphan” Plot Summary
A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be.
The best straight horror film in quite a while
When I was younger, I was a scaredy-cat when it came to a great many movies. I saw Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners at a young age which left me with a solid week worth of sleepless nights, I was terrified of the evil vines in Jumanji and I even had a fear of serial snipers after watching Dirty Harry. However as I grew, I became braver and less haunted even by horror films until I finally became numb to almost everything. Certainly the odd scene of a fright flick would give me a start and perhaps even a bad dream, but few films have been able to recapture the restless nights of my youth. Until I saw Orphan
While perhaps not as great a compliment as it once was with Hollywood’s iron grip on the horror industry, Orphan is the downright creepiest and most frightening pure horror film in a many, many years. The Orphanage (similar name a coincidence, I assure you) from last year gave me some haunted evenings but is more of a dramatic thriller. Countless films have capitalized on the evil child angle as a platform for the scares, in fact with the now even more relatively awful The Unborn coming out this very year. But those who have crafted such a film intelligently and to a genuinely disturbing end are sparse and in between. In the case of Orphan a much of this success is due to young Isabelle Furhman, who gives an incredibly intense and disturbingly authentic portrayal as Esther, the Russian orphan. Complimenting that role are four other outstanding performances by Aryana Engineer and Jimmy Bennett as Esther’s now sister and brother, and Vera Farmiga and Peter Starsgaard as the adopting parents. If there have been better performances in a horror film I haven’t been privy
Finally recovering after the devastating loss of their unborn child, Kate and John Coleman (Farmiga and Starsgaard) feel it is time to welcome some new life into their home and settle on the different but charming and incredible gifted 10 year old Esther. Things could not be better for this broken family, Esther bonds immediately with young Max who is a mute, and fits wonderfully in with her two loving parents. But then, strange occurrences begin to arise, and Esther always seems to be there and soon Kate begins to think, as the movie’s tagline of the film implies, there’s something wrong with her
In almost every horror film ever made, we have a central protagonist who is scoffed at by everyone and their mother at their wild claims of a killer, an alien, strange occurrences etc. In Orphan it is Kate who is the sole voice of desperation, but what makes this film work besides the wonderful acting job by Farmiga is the back-story of loss and her former alcoholism which sheds doubts on her suspicions. This coupled with Esther’s seemingly endless cunning and manipulation of Kate’s children makes for a frustratingly disturbing series of events. Director Juan Collet-Serra, who helmed 2005’s House of Wax, chooses to keep the gore restrained, tension high and focus on some equally tragic human elements about a broken marriage and what broke it apart. Collet-Serra holds no punches, and is unafraid to go all the way into truly disturbing territory and includes many elements of the anti-Hollywood horror film and is fairly light on the cliches. The final twist is shocking (if you say you knew it you’re lying) and brilliantly explains all the former questions the audience demands. Be warned, just because Orphan is not as bloody as some makes it no less disturbing and I applaud its ability to give me an uneasy sleep and a shot of much needed nostalgia

“Fahrenheit 9/11″ Movie Review
“Fahrenheit 911″ Plot Summary
Michael Moore’s view on what happened to the United States after September 11; and how the Bush Administration allegedly used the tragic event to push forward its agenda for unjust wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. add synopsis
Not Eggs-actly Accurate
Michael Moore has done it again assembled a disembodied collection of sound bites, disjointed and almost always out-of-context film footage, Corporation bashing, cynical one-liners, tearful testimony of doubtlessly hurt family members threaded into the narrative, vague coincidence, rambling discourses by carefully chosen downtrodden `common folk’ and any clip in which an important figure is seen as a pompous no-nothing. In `Fahrenheit 911′ we have the added treat of listening to the testimony of a handful of reluctant non-com warriors and the stern admonition that our soldiers are willing to go in harm’s way, but only if we REALLY need them to do so
In a bit of a surprise move the film opens with a shotgun of facts aimed at building the case that President Bush is President only because a small group of vaguely interconnected power brokers (not) somehow colluded to make him so a wild stretch right out of the box. Mr. Moore could surely turn this segment into a documentary in its own right. Unfortunately this is a sour grapes kick off for a documentary, and we in the audience sensed this. Also early on we see protests (after we’ve been made to feel bad about voting George Bush into office in the first place) along the parade route on Inauguration Day and much is made of the point that in a time of celebration the nation is already sundered. Mention is made that even eggs were thrown. We are stunned (well, maybe not stunned) as a solitary egg is discerned striking a car. Generally Presidential-grade vehicles are up to such punishment. As metaphor, this film could not be more appropriately compared to anything but this lamely impactful footage documenting an egg plopping onto the pavement after striking the auto
There are a plethora of quotes floating on the Internet which indicate threats of terrorism against the U.S. were perceived many years ago. bin Laden’s propensity to initiating violent anti-American activities was known and even prominent figures in government long before G.W. Bush became President testified as to the likelihood of weapons of mass destruction being likely found in Iraq. But we are a nation famed for second-guessing nearly any headline; I am sure there is a JFK re-visit being written at this very moment. The visit to Flint, Michigan to work the angle of the poor being the sole source of our military personnel was noticeably patched in, almost as an aside. If one is building a case that rich power brokers arrange wars, why even worry about the source of troops? That never seems to come up in academic studies of how and why a war begins. It is very refreshing to see large crowds in attendance at the local plex to view a film the subject of which is normally strictly art-house fare. In this sense the movie is exciting; certainly any documentary that gets Americans talking about politics is a good thing. It will be interesting to see counter-reactions (not News-At-Eleven clips of Hollywood actors smugly winking at us) to the fanfare accorded this movie’s release
So you need go only as far as this medium to find as many counter-arguments to any that Moore presents. Ho-hum. Until `Fahrenheit 911′ came along `Super Size Me’ was a shoe-in as the Best Documentary of the year. Now it may be a horse race to see which wins the Oscar, but the Academy members have surely punched their vote cards already, if not only figuratively

“Gattaca” Movie Review
“Gattaca” Plot Summary
A genetically inferior man assumes the identity of a superior one in order to pursue his lifelong dream of space travel.
It’s the little things that tell you you’ve found quality!
I rented this film cold at the video store — and was very pleasantly surprised with a very well done movie. If you don’t know anything else about Gattaca, the less you know, the better. Stop reading this review right now, go watch it, and come back when you’re done!It was after my first viewing of the film that several little details dawned on me:1) The term ‘borrowed ladder’ is a utterly-brilliantly-conceived bit of future slang that carries a *double meaning*. I’m still amazed that the producers didn’t make more of this. Instead, they were content to leave this gem to be discovered by the thinking and missed by the vast masses. I was very definitely impressed. 2) As I was explaining the film to my wife, it occurred to me in mid-explanation that this is really a film that has to do with what is properly called =eugenics=; one of the things the Nazis were about. Then my mind wandered to word etymologies: I recalled that the name ‘Eugene’ = ‘well born.’ And then I realized…!!!3) It’s interesting the extent to which so many of the characters in the film *didn’t* live up to their genetic destiny, one way or another.4) Because I hadn’t seen any previews, I had no immediate reference for where the name ‘Gattaca’ had come from. And then I suddenly realized…!!!5) It wasn’t until I watched the movie the second time that I caught the effects with the title sequence letters…Now I had figured out by this time that there were likely to be other intriguing little details I’ve missed, so I was fascinated to read from another reviewer here about the boy Vincent falling with a toy rocket in his hand. I wonder what else is in there? All in all, this is a very well written, tightly woven movie. Seen cold, with no real prior knowledge of the film, it came off as a tremendous science-fiction SUSPENSE THRILLER. There were several scenes that just had me climbing the walls with tension. Fabulous job!And I’m not the only one who thinks so. When my WIFE says she wants to see a SCIENCE FICTION movie for the SECOND TIME… well, I don’t think THAT has EVER happened before!

“Dawn of the Dead” Plot Summary
A nurse, a policeman, a young married couple, a salesman, and other survivors of a worldwide plague that is producing aggressive, flesh-eating zombies, take refuge in a mega Midwestern shopping mall.
One of the best Zombie movies I’ve seen…
…and I’ve seen quite a few. This movie is a must for all those enjoy seeing horror-zombie movies with a twist, but not containing excessive amounts of blood and gore, like BrainDead had. Unlike others, I don’t think this movie should compare to Resident Evil because zombies here don’t act like those ones, oh no, not at all. You surely will need to see the movie to understand, but I was simply delighted. Most important, this movie contains no pseudo-scientific bullsh!t regarding how do the zombies appear, skips through unnecessary preparation, the soundtrack is absolutely beautiful and the end, oh, the end is… what can I say? Great-great-great! Overall, I very much enjoyed seeing this and I guess it’s a movie you can see more than once. I, personally, have seen it 4 times in 2 days and I always found something new to look at.

“Ring” Plot Summary
A young journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone in a week of viewing it.
One of the better horror movies out there
My girlfriend and I saw the original in Japanese, and we both agree that the US version is much more suspenseful and scarier than the Japanese one, with the exception of some extraordinarily creepy sequences in the Japanese version. One of the small but significant changes from the original was that the Japanese version had the girl’s face mostly hidden by her hair and she never makes eye contact, which I found more effective than Verbinski’s treatment. The original also had one scene that I thought was a bit creepier than the remake, when the girl comes to attack the man. Other than that, the changes made were mostly positive
Japanese plots tend to be short on causality and detail, so the story changes, which add about a half hour to the original story line, serve to make the plot coherent to Westerners. The production values in Japan make the fairly high-budget original with A-list actors look like a B-movie to people accustomed to Hollywood films. The ending shows the difference between cultures, since in the original Japanese, the woman appeals to her father for help
There are holes in the plot, as many people have pointed out in reviews. Those that remain are either intentional, like those relating to the essentially unsolved mystery of the tapes and the girl, or were left over from the original Japanese
The lighting and deliberately limited spectrum enhance the mood of the film greatly. The attack on the ex-boyfriend occurring during daylight hours is surprisingly effective even though it flouts the normal rules of horror films. One of the things I liked most about this movie is that it is a bit unconventional, through a combination of good director choices and some fresh ideas borrowed from Japan. People who were expecting to see a kill-em-all slasher flick were probably disappointed by the relatively slow pace in the building of the story and suspense
Overall, I found the film to be a very good treatment of the original story and a fairly creepy horror movie too. It doesn’t try to startle you into being frightened, it doesn’t offer lots of gore and shocking violence, and it doesn’t play down to the audience. The result is a slightly cerebral and haunting movie. There are some images and scenes that will stay with you and still give you the creeps for quite some time after you see it.
