“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” Movie Review

“Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones” Plot Summary

Anakin Skywalker shares a forbidden romance with Padme Amidala while his teacher, Obi-Wan Kenobi, makes an investigation of a separatist assassination attempt on Padme which leads to the discovery of a secret Republican clone army.

    Better than I expected

Before seeing Attack of the clones I had seen neither the original star wars nor episode I and I didn’t have any particularly strong ambitions to see them, I am a big cult fan but star wars just never really appealed to me

I happened to come across the episode II DVD going cheap while browsing in my local library and thought I might as well buy it. And to my slight amazement, I really loved it. Many fans complain that the new ones are nothing compared with the originals, having never seen the originals to compare it with I thought it was brilliant. The action, the adventure, the love story, the lightsabres, C-3PO. The chase through the city near the beginning was fast and furious and had great special effects, as did the scene when Obi-Wan first sees the clones. The arena scene is a particular favourite of mine as it flows so well passing from one piece of action to another with such ease. The fights were amazing (particularly Obi-Wan’s and Jango’s) and very well choreographed. The film made me laugh (which is something I almost always look for) just little lines like ‘I retransmitted it to Coruscant, just as you’d requested, Master. Then we decided to come and rescue you.’ [Obi-Wan looks at his handcuffed hands] ‘Good job’. The whole thoroughness of it all just made me wonder about the sheer immensity of George Lucas’s imagination and it made me realize why all those boys in my class used to make lightsabre noises. I admit that some of the Anakin/Padme dialogue was sickly sweet but being a typical teenage girl when it comes to love, I’m fine with that. Also overall the acting was slightly wooden but I admit that this did suit the Jedi style characters. Overall, it was my ideal film, action, adventure, romance, comedy and some nice epic not too drawn out battles. If this is bad compared to the originals, then I really should get round to seeing those originals.9/10

    “Saw VI” Movie Review

    “Saw 6″ Plot Summary

Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw’s legacy…

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. Best Saw yet, but not by much!

Almost everyone looks for a 6th sequel(if there is one) to flop miserably, but this sequel defied all odds. In order to appreciate the full value of Saw 6 you must have followed and payed attention to all previous Saws. Saw 6 answers lots of questions from previous Saws in style and Saw 6 has an awesome story on its own. Hoffman becomes an incredible character, as he was shaky in both Saw 4 and in Saw 5. Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) gives a performance Oscar worthy. Some of the acting was poor, but for the most part a lot better than other Saw films. The Traps were good and there was a lot of suspense while they were taking place. The Traps also took time and creativity to come up with and were unlike any other traps in previous films, which was really hard to do!(except in the end trap which reverts to Saw 1!!). Go see Saw 6, you will not be disappointed.

    Awesome movie

This is like my favorite movie ever. It was so good. The FX in the movie was phenomenal. The music was so cool. I watched it in the theaters and it was so cool. It has a lot of action. I bought the tape and it was still good. I recommend this movie to anyone who loves Star Wars and likes a good adventure movie. I love this movie.

    “The 13th Warrior” Movie Review

    “The 13th Warrior” Plot Summary

In AD 922, an important emissary who is banished from his homeland. The nomadic outcast comes across…

    Very well made entertaining movie

I found myself glued to the television despite my inability to understand most of the early dialog in The 13th Warrior. Curiosity kept me from turning away and the action hooked me. Antonio Banderas’ performance is intelligent and understated. He may headline, but the unknown actors take the lead with very strong performances. Omar Sharif is certainly recognizable, but of limited exposure here. It’s sad that he belittled such a great movie because of it’s box office failure. This movie has a LOTR feel about it without the high end production. The production here is just right for the story and cast. The main attraction over LOTR is that it only runs 103 minutes. Beware, if you are easily affected by carnage. But, if you enjoy a classic tale of good vs. evil and competitive action, you will embrace this adventure.
